The race of Sankrathi 2024 has heated up with Rajinikanth’s Lal Salaam also joining the fray. While Lal Salaam has the veteran star in a cameo role, his look and presence in the movie has created enough buzz for it.
Sankranthi 2023 was a fairly simple one with 4 biggies releasing. Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Waltair Veerayya and Balakrishna’s Veera Simha Reddy ruled the Telugu states. Ajith’s Thunivu and Vijay’s Vaarisu on the other hand set the box office on fire in Tamil Nadu. For next year though, there are as many as 8 movies vying for best theatres and shows.
Superstar Mahesh Babu’s Guntur Kaaram, Ravi Teja’s Eagle, Nagarjuna’s Naa Saami Ranga, Teja Sajja’s Hanuman, Vijay Deverakonda’s Family Star have already announced their dates and are locked and loaded for the festive season. Venkatesh’s Saindhav will also join the race with an official announcement very soon.
Apart from Lal Salaam, Sivakarthikeyan’s Ayalaan has also been confirmed for Sankranthi 2024. With 8 movies releasing all over Telugu states and Tamil Nadu primarily, there will be a huge demand for shows and theatres. How distributors and exhibitors settle the demand is something that needs to be seen.
