0

It is widely known that the upcoming big film, Guntur Kaaram under the combination of Mahesh Babu and Trivikram was long ago announced to be released on Sankranthi 2024. However, the continuous delays in the shooting of the film and recent developments of the other movie’s release dates have raised a doubt on Guntur Kaaram’s release date, and it was also rumored that the film was postponed.

With the other movies continuously announcing the release for Sankranthi, definitely fans will get a doubt about Guntur Kaaram release date. While the rumors did not have any impact on the film’s business and the distributors are not even doing negotiations for the prices quoted by the makers as they are super confident with the combo.

But in trade, there has been a rumor that the movie might be postponed to Holi or any other date. It was said this was the main reason for multiple films announcing dates for Sankranthi but Producer Naga Vamsi who is doing promotions for the upcoming small film MAD which is getting released on 6th October, clarified that Guntur Kaaram’s shooting is happening at a rapid pace and everything will be completed by November.

He also affirmed that there is not even 1% chance of postponement and the movie will be released on 12th January as per plan, and he also added Mahesh will be seen in a never before energetic avatar in this film.

Directed by Trivikram Srinivas, Guntur Kaaram marks the third collaboration between him and Superstar Mahesh Babu after Athadu and Khaleja. The project is being produced under the Haarika and Hassine Creations banner. The film also stars the latest sensational actress Sree Leela and upcoming actress Meenakshi Chaudhary, who will be sharing the screen with Mahesh for the first time. Thaman S is scoring the music for the film.

Srikanth Addala’s Peddha Kapu 1 results in 100% losses for buyers – A bigger disaster than Brahmotsavam

0

Mahesh Babu’s Brahmotsavam which was directed by Srikanth Addala became one of the biggest disasters in Tollywood where buyers faced 50% losses and after that, Srikanth Addala changed his gears and directed Narappa a rural action drama, but it was a remake and directly released on OTT.

After that, he stuck to the raw rustic mass genre and came up with a mass film, Peddha Kapu 1. Sadly now this film has become the biggest disaster than Brahmotsavam as the film did not recover even 1% of the rights. Whatever the movie has collected until now that even not recovered P & P costs and the buyers who have bought the movie for huge prices have ended up with a 100% loss.

The worldwide rights of Peddha Kapu 1 were sold at Rs 12.5Cr and when the movie was released, it all backfired. The audience did not show any interest in watching the film, and the response of the audience who have watched the film was also pretty bad. Due to this kind of mixed and poor word of mouth, Peddha Kapu 1 collected less than Rs 30L on it’s opening day and gave a big shock to trade and buyers. Overall the movie ended up being a bigger disaster than Brahmotsavam.

Virat Karna and Pragathi Srivastava featured in the lead roles in this rural action drama. The film also featured Rao Ramesh, Aadukalam Naren, Tanikella Bharani, Naga Babu, Brigada Saga, Rajeev Kanakala, Anasuya, Eeshwari Rao, and Naren, among others. Miriyala Ravinder Reddy produced the film under the Dwarka Creations banner.

What’s wrong with Thalapathy Vijay Leo makers?

0

Vijay fans who were disappointed by the cancellation of Leo’s audio launch received good news as the film’s makers announced the trailer’s release date. Seven Screen Studios has confirmed that the trailer for the much-awaited film will be released on October 5. The production house shared a poster of the movie, which depicts Vijay having a fight with a hyena in the snow. However, after watching the poster, one cannot help but wonder by thinking What’s wrong with Thalapathy Vijay Leo makers?

All the posters that have been used for the promotion of the film, Leo, are very disappointing, and they have diluted a bit of hype around the film in the neutral audiences. Even today’s trailer announcement poster design is also not attractive and fallen short of the expectations.

https://twitter.com/7screenstudio/status/1708806494576402626?t=H_3EH5fDPMz3azcO5Sj2sA&s=19

However, irrespective of posters, the advance bookings for Leo are nothing less than sensational and, especially at the Overseas it is creating massive records even before the release. Let’s hope that at least the film’s trailer matches the expectations and raises the anticipation to a further level.

This year in Tamil, Leo is one of the most significant releases. The film is the second collaboration between Vijay and director Lokesh Kanagaraj. Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Sarja, Mysskin, Gautam Vasudev Menon, and Sandy are among the stars in this movie. Furthermore, the movie features Trisha, who hasn’t worked with Vijay since Kuruvi (2008). Anirudh Ravichander, who worked alongside Vijay and Lokesh in Master, is now composing the music for Leo. He had earlier collaborated with Vijay and Lokesh Kanagaraj for Katthi and Vikram individually.

Legendary cricketer Muthiah Muralidaran’s biopic ‘800’ will be released on 1100 screens across India: Producer Sivalenka Krishna Prasad

0

Muthiah Muralidaran, the legendary off-spinner, has been loved by people across countries and cultures. That’s because he is a sui generis genius and is the only bowler in the history of International Test cricket to take 800 wickets. Movie Train Motion Pictures has made an authentic, grand sports-based film titled ‘800’ as his biopic. Madhur Mittal of ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ fame is essaying the role of Muralidaran in the film. Directed by MS Sripathy, the film is up for a grand theatrical release. Sivalenka Krishna Prasad, the famous Tollywood producer and the head of Sridevi Movies, has acquired its All-India theatrical rights. The movie will be released in theatres on October 6th.

Krishna Prasad today interacted with the media ahead of the film’s grand release. Here are the excerpts:

You have known director MS Sripathy for many years. How did your journey start out?

My uncle, SP Balasubramaniam garu, and I had a common friend who knew Sripathy. They are a Telugu family settled in Coimbatore. He speaks Telugu fluently. As someone who is passionate about movies, he completed some filmmaking courses. When SP Charan remade ‘Varsham’ in Tamil, Sripathy was hired as an assistant director. I happened to oversee all production works related to that film. After that, Sripathy worked in the direction department for four to five films under Tamil filmmaker Venkat Prabhu. We wanted to introduce him as a director in our production company. Had I known that I had the opportunity to produce the biopic of Muralidaran, I would have happily grabbed it.

At which phase did you take over ‘800’?

It was in the first week of August that I got a call from Sripathy who requested me to take over the project. Ever since the start of this project, he has been informing me about the developments and production works. He used to update me whether he was in London or in Sri Lanka. I told him to talk with Muralidaran first about the proposal. I got a call from Muralidaran half an hour later, saying that he would be happy if I took over ‘800’.

  • As a producer, you have always been involved with the making process at an intimate level. Did you make any changes or additions to ‘800’ after you took it over?*

This is a biopic. What can be changed in a biopic? It has been made as it should be. At the same time, this is not a documentary. Muralidaran’s life has all the commercial touches. You won’t believe that he faced extreme adversities. The audience will be surprised to know those scenes on the big screen. Sripathy took Muralidaran’s permission for every scene. Muralidaran doesn’t like false representations.

We heard that our Telugu hero Nani also listened to the story. Is that true?

Yes. It is known that Vijay Sethupathy was supposed to play the lead. Due to a controversy caused by some people in Tamil Nadu, he opted out. Then Sripathy tried to tell me and Nani the story. By that time, it was only one and a half years since Nani had done ‘Jersey’. Nani was not willing to do another film in the backdrop of cricket. Muralidaran likes Nani a lot. Nani had already told me that he would only listen to the script. He judged the script as a very good one.

You have met legendary cricketers like Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, VVS Laxman, and Anil Kumble as part of the promotional campaign for ‘800. What memories have you made?

Meeting all of them is a great feeling. I discovered that they are down-to-earth people.

In how many theaters is the movie going to be released?

In India, we are releasing it in about 1100 theaters. We are focusing mostly on multiplex screens. Later, we will gradually increase the screen count. Lyca Productions is doing the overseas distribution. In the Telugu States, Suniel Narang is distributing it in Nizam. Dil Raju is doing it in Visakhapatnam and Uttarandhra. Geeta Film Distribution is doing it in East Godavari. In West Godavari, LVR is doing it. Annapurna Studios is doing it in Krishna. Nellore is being done by Anjali Pictures’ Bhaskar Reddy. S Cinemas is doing it in Ceded. In Guntur, Padmakar Cinemas is doing it. UFO, which distributed ‘Yashoda’ in North India, is also distributing our film.

Isn’t it being released in Sri Lanka too? Are you taking care of the release formalities there?

No. I am looking after the India release formalities. Muralidaran is involved in the Sri Lankan release. The film has been made only in Tamil. I advised them to dub it only in Telugu and Hindi.

Muralidaran recently said that he has seen many Telugu movies. Have there been movie-related discussions between you?

He has watched many Telugu movies, including those dubbed into Tamil. There are many people who know him from Tollywood. Victory Venkatesh is one of them. He was supposed to attend the pre-release event recently. He could not make it because of the shooting of ‘Saindhav’. But Venkatesh called and spoke.

What new films are you going to do as a producer?

Sripathy’s next film is with me. There is a movie with ‘Yashoda’ directors Hari and Hareesh in the works. We have already completed the script work. Discussions are going on with director Pavan Sadineni as well. Sai Shekhar, the director of Siddhartha’s film ‘Vadaladu’, recently narrated a story. Four or five stories are currently in the works. After the lead cast is finalized, the films will be announced. I have always tried a variety of genres. After ‘Gentleman’, I did ‘Sammohanam’ and ‘Yashoda’, which were different from each other.

Rules Ranjann has a captivating love theme treated so uniquely: Neha Shetty

0

Actress Neha Shetty is playing the character named Sana in the much-awaited movie Rules Ranjann which is scheduled to hit screens worldwide on October 6.

Starring Neha and Kiran Abbavaram in the lead roles, the film also stars Vennela Kishore, Subbaraju, Viva Harsha, Hyper Aadhi, Meher Chahal, Ajay, Makarand Deshpande, Atul Parchure, Annu Kapoor and Abhimanyu Singh in key roles. The film is directed by Rathinam Krishna, the son of prominent producer-director A.M Rathnam, and produced by Murali Krishna Vemuri and Divyang Lavania under the banner Star Light Entertainment Pvt Ltd.

Ahead of the movie’s release, the actress shared a few insights about the film and her character with the media on Monday. Here are the excerpts from the interview…

Do you think you’re off to a solid start with back-to-back successes at the Telugu box office?

I am not sure, I feel there is still more to achieve. But I am so glad and grateful for whatever I’ve achieved in a very short span of time.

Your career took a sharp turn with DJ Tillu, how do you see it?

DJ Tillu came as one full circle because I started with Mahbooba which didn’t work well. Then I flew to New York to study film acting. I returned to India with hopes aplenty, immediately the Covid-induced lockdown came as a death knell. I had to wait for some more time. That was when I was offered the character Radhika in DJ Tillu. When the film was released in theatres, audiences instantly got connected with the character. I am happy with the way it was received by audiences.

How is your character in Rules Ranjann different from the previous movies?

I play the character Sana in Rules Ranjann. Sana is not a selfish character like Radhika in DJ Tillu. She is a happy-go-lucky girl hailing from Tirupati. She is adventurous and wants to explore the world. As a character, Sana is glamorous. She is cute, bubbly and a girl-next-door character. How does she bump into Mano Ranjan (played by Kiran Abbavaram)? How the journey sets into motion in the story that has thrills and frills.

Have you found anyone who shares similar characteristics of Rules Ranjann in your real life?

I think it is the director Rathinam Krishna who goes by his set of rules at any given time. He would have a fixed daily routine when he steps onto the sets. He is so focused. That’s because of being born in a filmy-background family. He would have a clear idea of what he has to do.

Music director Amrish’s name is trending of late, for the music that he scored for Sammohanuda single, on social media. How it has been to work with him?

I’ve not met music composer Amrish personally. All I know about him through press meets and promotional events of Rules Ranjann. Like you all, I became a fan after hearing his work. The way he scored the music is amazing. I am ever grateful for him. I feel it is because of the team we could make this project happen. Amrish, Shreya Goshal, Rathinam Krishna, Kiran Abbavaram — all came together to make the project happen.

How different is Rules Ranjann as far as the romantic track is concerned?

A love story is a common ingredient in any commercial potboiler. Rules Ranjann, the whole story is quite different. There is a conflict in it. There is a comedy. It is not the routine boy-meets-girl story. It has a captivating love theme, treated so uniquely. I am sure audiences would enjoy the film as much as they enjoyed my previous films.

What’s the most challenging part in Rules Ranjann for you?

The most challenging task is to dance to the Sammohanuda single. If you observe the song, I had to dance in the fire, water, amidst flowers, and by the poolside. Quite a few interesting things I had to try. The picturisation was quite tough. But in the end, it’s all worth it. Otherwise not all challenging.

Could you share how the chemistry worked out with Kiran Abbavaram?

As an actor Kiran is so cool. As a person, he is polite, humble, quiet and calm on the sets. And I am the opposite (laughs). Even after going on to the sets, I would ask him about his day. Just to have a good-laugh-out conversation to have a bit of ease into it before rolling the camera. And I do the same with the director and other actors. And having Vennela Kishore garu on the sets is pure fun.

How do you feel ahead of Rules Ranjann’s release on October 6?

I am nervous whether Rules Ranjann will be a hat trick one for me. No doubt, we all have worked out pretty well, bringing out a wholesome entertainer. But there is a slight nervousness in me. After DJ Tillu, I was skeptical how audiences would receive my character in Bedurulanka 2012, donning a cute, village girl from a conservative family. I had the doubt whether fans would accept me. But my inhibitions were all shattered when it was released in theatres. I am sure the character Sana would surely strike a chord with fans.

Rain songs were quite popular in the past. Now the rain song featuring you has become famous of late. How do you feel?

When it comes to rain songs, famous yesteryear star late Sridevi comes to my mind. I’ve been a big fan of her work. She never had boundaries after starting her film career at a very young age. That’s the kind of actor I want to be. I am happy that my first song has become massive and also has a rain sequence in it.

Trivikram congratulates Pulagam Chinnarayana for penning ‘Janapada Brahma’ B. Vittalacharya’s authentic history

0

‘Janapada Brahma’ B. Vittalacharya’s folklore films are known to one and all. Telugu movie lovers hold the yesteryear filmmaker in high esteem, thanks to his tireless work that has been admired by people down the generations. Senior journalist and writer Pulagam Chinnarayana, a passionate film lover himself, has written a book named ‘Jai Vittalacharya’ to introduce the legend’s style and cinematic treatment to the new generation. The book encapsulates Vittalacharya’s journey comprehensively and meticulously. Zeelan Basha Shaikh has published this book under the auspices of Movie Volume Media. The book launch event was held today in the presence of star director and ‘Matala Mantrikudu’ Trivikram Srinivas today. The first copy was received by Ravi Padi, the senior civil servant and bureaucrat with the Indian Railways.

Speaking on the occasion, Trivikram Srinivas appreciated Pulagam Chinnarayana, whom he has known for years. “I have read his earlier books as well. Vittalacharya is the Father of Telugu Mass Cinema and the Father of Folklore Cinema. Before the VFX era, he was a great technologist who made adventurous and ambitious films in his heyday. Neither his immense success ratio, nor the reach of his movies, nor his popularity is known to the present generation. Most of today’s generation doesn’t know him except because of YouTube or the satellite channels that broadcast old movies. I wholeheartedly appreciate the efforts by Chinnarayana to bring out his life and works. Congratulations to him, Ravi and publisher Zeelan Basha Shaikh. Bringing such books is not a profitable business. It shows their love for the cinema. As a person who loves books, I hope that such efforts will increase a book-reading culture among people. In Telugu writing, recording history is not widespread. The history of Telugu cinema is an area that has not been explored thoroughly so far. Pulagam Chinnarayana should write more books. He has that energy and interest. So, I sincerely want to write books like this,” the director-writer said.

Pulagam Chinnarayana said, “I wrote this book as fast as Vittalacharya used to make movies. Superstar Krishna garu, Kaikala Satyanarayana garu, Jamuna garu, Vani Sri garu, Rajasree garu, Jaya Malini garu, and Narasimha Raju garu, among other titans, have been introduced for this book. Also, I talked to the family members of Vittalacharya and learned about him personally. I have prepared this book with behind-the-scenes features of 39 movies directed by the iconic filmmaker. Besides, several interesting anecdotes and pieces of info have been documented for the first time ever. I am very happy that this book launch program has been held in the presence of Trivikram, who is very fond of movies and Telugu literature.”

Ravi Padi said, “The cover page of this book is made with the final painting of Eshwar garu, the senior Publicity Designer and a recipient of the Raghupathi Venkaiah Award. I am happy to receive the first copy of this book at the hands of Trivikram. Pulagam Chinnarayana researched extensively in writing this tome. He is writing the history of Telugu cinema and wants to bring out more books.”

Movie Volume Media’s Zeelan Basha Shaikh said, “Being in journalism, I am proud to step up to publish this book. Superstar Krishna unveiled the cover page of this book. It is a memory I will always cherish. Thanks to Trivikram for being here today for the launch.”

The combinations and audience anticipation make Leo and Salaar movies highly anticipated

0

It is widely known that Thalapathy Vijay’s Leo and Prabhas’s Salaar are the two upcoming big films at pan India level. For both the films, the combination of actor and director has created big anticipation among the audiences, that is why Leo and Salaar have become the highly anticipated movies at the moment.

Leo is coming with the biggest combination of Kollywood as Thalapathy Vijay and Lokesh Kanagaraj are joining hands for the film. This massive combination and the anticipation in audience and another point whether the movie is a part of LCU (Lokesh Cinematic Universe) or not has created a very huge buzz for the film.

Because of the massive buzz, the film is registering sensational bookings already. The audience wants to know if the film is a part of LCU or not, and they are wishing the film to be a part of LCU if that happens then the sky will be the limit for the film at the box office.

The Same for another Pan Indian film, Salaar as even this film’s combination is colossal at pan India level. Because Baahubali Hero has joined hands with KGF director, this film has created a massive anticipation in the audience. Also, there is a curiosity around the film that whether it is a part of the KGF Series or not, and if it is really a part of the KGF Series then the movie will do wonders at the box office.

Even if Leo is not a part of LCU and Salaar does not have any link with KGF Universe, both the movies will create massive records as the combinations are so big and crazy ones.
