The highly anticipated movie by Mega Power Star Ram Charan, Game Changer, directed by ace filmmaker Shankar Shanmugam, has been in the making stage for a longtime. Producer Dil Raju made an announcement a few weeks ago that Game Changer will be released in September 2024. However, rumors have it that Game Changer may choose another date, given that Pawan Kalyan’s ‘They Call Him OG’ is set to debut on September 27, 2024.

Many issues for Game Changer’s release

Game Changer faced countless struggles and delays on shooting time due to Indian 2. Now Indian 2 is said to have planning for August 15th release if Pushpa 2 postpones, or it will release in July in. another case. So Game Changer has no chance to release before Indian 2.

That will a big burden for Dil Raju as the delays will increase the budget and the movie has already crossed planned budget.

It is widely known that within a week, the popular OTT platform Netflix released Prabhas’s Salaar: Part 1-The Ceasefire and Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal. On the OTT platform, these films have quickly gained a lot of attention. While it looked like Salaar was ruling the trend, Animal outshines Salaar on Netflix and achieves record viewership.

P.A. Ranjith’s sports action drama Sarapatta Parambarai was one of the most critically acclaimed and loved movies of 2021. The film was released directly on OTT during Covid and received great appreciation from all and there have been talks of a sequel of this film starring Arya for quite some time.

Set in the 1970s, the film revolves around a clash between two clans namely Idiyappa Parambarai and Sarpatta Parambarai in North Chennai, which also showcases the boxing culture in the locality and the politics involved in it. The films also starred Pasupathy, John Kokken, John Vijay and Dushara Vijayan in key roles.

Currently, PA Ranjith’s Thangalaan starring Vikram is gearing up for release, and once this film’s post-production gets done and releases in the summer, the director will move on to Sarapatta Parambarai 2.

Ranjith has started the pre-production work of the Sarpatta sequel and this film will be made on a bigger scale than the first installment. It will be made on a bigger budget of 100Cr and will be a pan India film releasing in all major languages. Sarapatta’s sequel shooting is expected to start in June / July and Arya has already started his boxing training for the sequel.

Pushpa Part 1 was released 2021 December and Sukumar took one year to complete the script and pre-production works. Then the shoot of the sequel started at the end of 2022 and at first, their plan was to release the film for 2023 Christmas.

Later, with the delays in the shooting, the plan shifted to March 2024 and again, after all discussions with right planning, the team fixed the date of 15th August 2024. Allu Arjun is very particular about release dates of his films, and he wants to release the film on the said date at any cost.

Pushpa 2 facing delays in filming

Sukumar is said to have delayed every schedule of the film, which is making Allu Arjun angry and frustrated. The problem is if they miss the 15th of August date they might even have to go 2025 Summer as August–December period is packed with many biggies announcing their release dates such as OG, Devara, Game Changer, Kanguva and a few more pan India biggies are also expected to come at that time.

Sankranthi 2025 is already packed with big and small films. Allu Arjun is not happy with this but on the other hand, Sukumar is not in a mood to wrap the things in a rushed way, and he is continuously working on the script and checking the footage. If he e not satisfied with the output, he is immediately asking for reshoot.

The budget of the film, Pushpa 2 also said to be getting increased by 30% — 40% with these delays, but producers do not have any problem as they already know that Sukumar’s work will result in a big success much like his previous films, Rangasthalam and Pushpa:The Rise.

Pushpa 2 is the biggest Indian project, so the makers do not have any problem with the delay. But Allu Arjun wants to release the film on the best date, and also he does not want to keep his fans and audiences continuously in waiting stage.
