Vishwak Sen’s Gaami: Censor & Pre-Release Details

Gaami is an epic adventure film starring Vishwak Sen and Chandini Chowdary in lead roles. Helmed by debutant Vidyadhar Kagita, it narrates the tale of an Aghora who sets out on a mystical adventure into the Himalayas to find a cure for his touch salvation.

The film’s good buzz among audiences is primarily because of its unique concept showcased in the theatrical trailer; to capitalise on this, the makers chose to go for early premieres in the USA. Having said that, this film is all set for a worldwide release on March 8, 2024.

The film has already completed the censorship formalities, with ‘A’ certificate for a reasonable duration of 146 minutes. In terms of its economics, the film’s pre-release business stands at a modest INR 12 crore. Dheeraj Mogilineni Entertainments will distribute the film within India, while Shloka Entertainments will look after the overseas belt. Additionally, the film’s digital streaming rights have been bought by ZEE5 for an undisclosed price.

“Lately, there has been false news circulating about money being lavishly spent on me. I kept quiet because I thought people who were speaking about this would have some humanity to verify the information they received before mindlessly spoiling a girl’s life. 

My family and I have been under extreme stress for a few days. Please think before spreading such false news. 

I come from a very dignified family. I have been financially independent and stable since the age of 16. My family still resides in Dubai. We’ve been in Dubai for over 20 years. 

Even in the movie industry, I have never ever asked a producer, director, or hero to cast me or give me movie opportunities. I have done over 20 films, and that was all that found me. I was and never will be greedy for work or money. 

I can confirm that none of the information spoken about me so far is true. We have lived in a rented house in Dubai since 2002. Also, racing has been my passion since 2013. In fact, I had no idea about the races being conducted in Chennai. 

I’m not as important as you are making it look. I lead a very simple life. After facing a lot of struggles in life, I’m finally in a good place mentally and emotionally. I want to continue leading a dignified and peaceful life. Just like any other woman in your family would want.

I am not taking this up legally because I still believe there’s some humanity left in journalism and that they won’t continue to defame me like this.

I request journalists to verify the information you receive before spoiling a family’s reputation and not putting our family through any more trauma.

War 2 Update: NTR as an Indian Raw Agent

For the first time, a South Indian star is joining the YRF spy universe with Bollywood big stars like Hrithik Roshan, Salman Khan, and Shahrukh Khan. As we all know, these stars are part of this universe, as they are already in War 2. NTR joins this universe. The film shooting started long ago, and Hrithik Roshan joined the sets this week.

An action-introduction episode of his is going to be shot. After this schedule, NTR will join the War 2 sets, mostly in April. NTR is said to be playing the role of an Indian raw agent in this film. A standalone film on him was also planned after the War 2 release.

As Hrithik and NTR are part of it, it was the biggest spy universe film that targets all Indian audiences this time. The film announces its 2025 independence weekend release. A female spy film on Alia Bhatt and a Pathaan sequel with Shah Rukh Khan are likely to go on sets this year in the YRF Spy Series.

Like all Spy series films, we can expect many cameos in every film. Along with War 2, NTR is also working on Devara Part 1, directed by Koratala Shiva. While Hrithik Roshan got a flop with Fighter and is now working on only War 2.

The recent news is that Ranveer Singh himself has approached Hanuman director Prashanth Varma for a collaboration, and discussions have happened.

A project on independence is said to be discussed. It’s still in the going stage. Ranveer Singh is showing a big interest in South Directors. He signs a mega-budget series film with Minnal Murali director Basil Joseph. Recently, I commented that Tamil director Atlee is ruling Bollywood. 

Prashanth Varma is currently in the success celebrations of Hanuman, which recently completed 50 days of running successfully in theaters. In that event, he said that he is currently working on Jai Hanuman, which is the sequel to Hanuman Movie, and it will be a blockbuster again.

The Pre-Production work is going on full swing, he added. Basil Joseph is currently acting in four upcoming movies, which are Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil, Ajayante Randam Moshanam, Varshangalkku Shesham, and Nunakuzhi. 

Coming to Atlee, he recently released the pan-India blockbuster Jawan with Shah Rukh Khan, Nayanathara, Deepika Padukone, and Vijay Sethupathi in lead roles, which hit more than 1000 crores worldwide.

He is currently working on Baby John, which is an upcoming Hindi action drama movie that is his own remake of his Tamil film Theri, which was released in 2016.

Pushpa-2: The Rule is easily one of the most anticipated films of the year. Made as a direct sequel to Pushpa: The Rise (2021), it features ‘Icon Star’ Allu Arjun in the titular role, while Fahaad Fassil is the main antagonist. As announced officially, the film is slated for a worldwide release on this independence day, i.e., August 15, 2024. While the makers are working round-the-clock to stick to this date, they can’t help but face tough competition in non-Telugu markets.

Rohith Shetty’s Singham Again, the next installment in the director’s highly- successful Cop Universe is also hitting screens at the same time. This is a huge multi-starrer film and will surely impact the performance of Pushpa-2, which pins high hopes on the Hindi belt.

In addition to this, ‘Thalapathy’ Vijay’s final acting venture, The Greatest of All Time, and ‘Super Star’ Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyan are also reportedly aiming for a release in August. Both of these are mammoth projects and will be the first preference of audiences in Tamil Nadu. As officially announced, ‘Ulaganayagan’ Kamal Hassan will be joining hands with Mani Rathnam for an action drama film titled Thug Life. The project’s carrying good buzz among audiences since it marks the actor-director’s collaboration after 25 years; the promotional content released so far has been well-received as well.

With music composed by A. R. Rahman, it features an ensemble supporting cast of Jayam Ravi, Trisha, and Dulquer Salmaan. But according to some trusted sources, there’s been an issue with the date allocation of Dulquer after the project’s filming has been postponed from the initially planned schedule. Having said that, the Malayalam superstar has reportedly left the project, citing date issues.

This will be a big blow since Dulquer’s inclusion has created immense hype for the project, and his unfortunate exit will leave fans and audiences dissatisfied. However, an official confirmation has yet to arrive.

Malayalam blockbuster Pramalu is now inching towards the landmark 100 crore figure. The romantic comedy-drama was released last month and achieved positive critical feedback and a huge audience response. After 25 days, Premalu has collected around Rs 87Cr gross worldwide. In Kerala, the movie collected in the range of 46 Cr and is all set to join the 50 Cr club.

Very few films in Malayalam have achieved this milestone and for a film like Premalu that features newcomers, it is indeed a massive achievement. Overseas, the film has collected more than $4 Million with around 35 Cr gross.

The film is all set to join the 100 Cr club this week. After the roaring success in Malayalam, the Telugu version is getting ready for release on 8th March. This will be a huge advantage for the film and it will sprint to join the 100 crore club this week itself.

The Telugu version is being released by Rajamouli’s son Karthikeya. This will be the 5th Mollywood film to achieve this milestone after Puli Murugan, Lucifer, 2018, and Manjummel Boys which was also released last month.

Premalu is directed by Girish AD and boasts an ensemble cast featuring Naslen, Mamitha Baiju, Althaf Salim, Meenakshi Raveendran, and Akhila Bhargavan in key roles, clicked well with the audience, especially the young generation.
