Aadu Jeevitham: Record 1st week for Malayalam cinema

The Malayalam film industry is on a roll with yet another blockbuster in the form of Aadujeevitham. The survival drama features Prithviraj and is written and directed by Blessy. It is based on a novel by Benyamin and received great critical acclaim and audience love over its first weekend and continued great show on weekdays as well.

Aadu Jeevitham posted the biggest weekend numbers in the history of Malayalam cinema, with a strong hold on weekdays and has now emerged as the biggest 1st week for Mollywood in just 6 days. The earlier record stood with Mohanlal starter Lucifer which incidentally was directed by Prithviraj. Lucifer managed to collect 75 Cr gross in 1st week, while Aadujeevitham has collected more than 80 Cr gross in 6 days.

Despite it being mid-week, the film managed to hold well today as well. The total 1st week number will be close to 90 Cr. The film is all set to join the 100 Cr club by this Friday and will easily join the 150 Cr club at this pace.

The highly ambitious survival drama which has been in the pipeline for several years finally made its way to the theatres earlier this week to great reviews and tremendous audience response.

Aadujeevitham follows the life of Najeeb, who, employed as a goatherd against his will, survives in a slave-like situation in the middle of the Saudi desert. The film has been titled The Goat Life for the international version

Ramayana Filming Takes Off

Nitesh Tiwari’s dream project Ramayana finally got on floors with the first schedule going on the way. The shoot started today in Mumbai with a big set erected for it. Ranbir Kapoor will be playing Lord Rama’s role while Sai Pallavi has been cast as Sita Devi.

Kannada superstar Yash will be seen as Ravana and many big stars will be playing important roles. Ramayana is a three-part film franchise and the first part is planned to be released in 2025 end.

Ranbir will join the crew in the next few days. Tiwari and his team did a small pooja ceremony on the set before the shoot to take blessings from the cast and crew. A picture from the sets has also gone viral on social media where the large set of the film can be seen in the background.

Sunny Deol has reportedly been locked in for the role of Hanuman. Bobby Deol and Vijay Sethupathi are also reportedly in talks for the roles of Kumbhakarna and Vibhashana respectively. Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana is the second attempt of Bollywood at telling the epic saga. Prabhas had earlier starred as Ram in Om Raut’s Adipurush which was heavily criticised.

Can Family Star beat Tillu Square and Geetha Govindam?

Family Star starring Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur is slated for release this Friday. It is directed by P. Parasuram. The duo earlier worked for Geetha Govindam which became a sensational blockbuster. It cemented the position of Vijay Deverakonda as a leading Star and he never looked back. Fans and Audiences got excited when the United again for Family Star. Now the question is, Can Family Star beat both Geetha Govindam and recent sensation Tillu Square?

Geetha Govindam as said managed to receive great reviews and grossed nearly 130 crores worldwide. This was a sensational number for any medium-range film then. The chemistry between lead pair Vijay and Rashmika, Songs, and Family emotions impressed everyone. On the other hand, Tillu Square which released recently achieved a unanimous positive response and is currently on its way to grossing more than 100 crores worldwide. It has already crossed 85 crores mark. It may well stand next to Geetha Govindam by the end of next weekend or Summer.

Family Star needs to produce great reviews and mouth talk from the audience to first beat Tillu Square which is having a dream run at the Box office. The first look and songs of Family Star looked decent but it still feels that something is missing to match Geetha Govindam‘s magic. The trailer also looked okay. If it gets positive talk, it could easily beat Tillu Square. It would be interesting if it surpasses Geetha Govindam which set a benchmark for Vijay Deverakonda and P. Parasuram.

Gaami OTT streaming date and details are out

Vishwak Sen’s Gaami is now getting ready for its OTT release. The film created good hype before its release and registered solid openings on Day 1. Gaami was released in theatres with good reviews and worked well on weekends. But, after the weekend it crashes at the box office. Somehow audience word of mouth is different from media reviews which affected the film. 

But with a good opening weekend, the movie emerges as a decent success at the Box office. There is a huge anticipation for this film OTT streaming. The movie is said to be streaming on Zee 5 from 12th April.

The box office success of Gaami came as a huge relief for trade circles as Tollywood was suffering from a dry run since Sankranti. After the Sankranti releases, all films failed to take a decent start and failed at the box-office.

Directed by Vidyadhar Kagita who has also written its screenplay alongside Pratyush Vatyam, Gaami has become Tollywood’s hot topic due to its extraordinary visuals and great production values.

Yash gears up for return to film sets

Kannada Actor, Yash who rose to fame with the KGF franchise took a break after KGF Chapter 2‘s release. He didn’t accept any films and stayed away for some time. Fans and Audiences have been waiting for an update about his next film. It seems Yash has finally geared up for his return to the film sets.

Yash also called Rocking Star, was a normal Kannada Actor until KGF Chapter 1 became a nationwide blockbuster. It brought him and the director Prashant Neel many accolades and fame. This was catapulted even much after KGF Chapter 2’s release. Now he finally decided to work for a film titled Toxic: A Fairy Tale. He will also act as the producer of the film. Geetu Mohandas will direct the film. A massive set has also been erected for the film in Karnataka. The film will showcase Yash in a fierce avatar yet again.

Toxic will be made on a large scale and released in all the languages. This film has to live up to the expectations to match the stardom Yash got after KGF. The film’s shooting will also start during the third week of April. The team has already set a target of releasing Toxic on April 10 next year.

Bhimaa Starring Gopichand and Malavika Sharma released on 8th March during Shiva Rathri failed to create an impact. The film ended up as another flop for the Actor Gopichand who is struggling to score a hit at the box office. The film featured high technical standards with VFX making but didn’t strike a chord with the audience. Bhimaa OTT streaming date and details are as below.

Bhimaa’s digital rights were bought by the leading OTT giant, Disney+Hotstar and it is also expected to stream the film during this weekend in all the languages. Bhimaa suffered a big competition with Gaami starring Vishwas Sen and another film, Premalu. Gaami is also made on a large scale and performed decently at the box office. But Premalu, dubbed Malayalam film made wonders by emerging as the winner among the three films. Premalu achieved a unanimous positive talk and thereby performing well the box office as well.

Premalu’s Telugu Version also went on to touch the 15 Crore gross mark worldwide. This is a record for any Malayalam film here. This has seriously damaged both Bhimaa and Gaami. Gopichand is currently working under Srinu Vaitla’s direction for his next film. The film was launched officially also.

Malayalam film, Premalu became a box office sensation by grossing more than 130 crores worldwide. The film was a low-budget flick with no big star cast directed by Girish AD. It also attracted the Telugu Audience and had a release here. It was immediately cashed by the son of SS Rajamouli, SS Karthikeya. He bought the distribution rights of Premalu in the Telugu States. The film did well in Telugu as well grossing nearly 15 crores worldwide.

Premalu became the highest-grossing Telugu Dubbed Malayalam film by pulling off this feat. The film initially saw competition with direct Telugu releases, Bhima starring Gopichand and Gaami starring Vishwak Sen. But these films failed at beating Premalu interestingly. Premalu will stream on Aha from 12th April. However, its Malayalam, Tamil, and Hindi versions will stream on Disney+Hotstar on 12th April. The Telugu Version will not stream on Hotstar. Tillu Square joins 40 crore share club

Tillu Square starring Siddhu Jonnalagadda and Anupama Parameswaran has hit a jackpot. The film is a sequel to DJ Tillu and was produced by Naga Vamsi under Sithara Entertainments. It managed to gross more than 75 crores after the weekend which is a sensational run. Now it has officially joined the 40 crores share club.

The film opened to huge hype and likewise generated a unanimous positive response from all sections. It collected a big 23+ crores gross worldwide which is a staggering number for any medium-tier range film. It continued the same momentum each day and ended up crossing the 75 crore gross mark easily. Tillu Square now stands at grossing 85 crores worldwide. It is also one of very few Tier 2 films to touch the 40 crore share mark worldwide.

Tillu Square is already on its way to grossing more than 100 crores worldwide. It has already crossed $2M in the USA which is also a big record. It needs to continue the same momentum to go beyond the 100 crores mark.
