Manjummel Boys created a sensation in the recent times. The film with a lesser star cast managed to grab the eyeballs of the Malayalam audience with its content. It took very less time to become the Industry hit there officially grossing more than 200 crores worldwide. Now after its success there, it has come to test its luck in Telugu and released today. Tillu Square: 1st Week Worldwide Collections – Blockbuster

‘Star Boy’ Siddhu’s crime comedy Tillu Square (2024) has had a terrific run at the box office so far, and looking at the trends, it is no mood to stop any soon. Vijay Devarakonda’s Family Star, which was released today, has met with negative reception and will be an added advantage. Clearly, there are no films in competition, and Tillu Square is expected to shatter more records in the next two weeks.

In terms of numbers, the film has registered excellent opening numbers and went on to collect a worldwide share of INR 42 crore in its first week. In Nizam and Overseas, the film is a ‘Double Blockbuster’ collecting twice the investment of buyers. In Andhra Pradesh too, the film performed well and will break even this week. In its final theatrical run, Tillu Square will end up as a highly profitable venture for buyers.

Made as a direct sequel to DJ Tillu (2022), it features Anupama Parameshwaran as the female lead. Sithara Entertainments, which bankrolled the first installment, has produced this film as well. Following the success of the second installment, a sequel titled ‘Tillu Cube’ is in development, with Siddhu reprising his role.

Starring Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead role, Aadu Jeevitham is an epic survival drama film in Malayalam. An adaptation of a classic novel of the same name, it is written, directed, and co-produced by Blessy. Titled ‘The Goat Life’ in its dubbed versions, it features Amala Paul as the female lead.

The film carried well before release and expectedly posted very good numbers in its first weekend. In its eight-day theatrical run, it went on to mint a gross of INR 38 crore in the state of Kerala itself; with an impressive overseas collection of INR 41 crore, Aadu Jeevitham‘s total worldwide gross stands at a staggering INR 93 crore in eight days.

The film is expected to surpass the triple-digit gross mark by day, thus becoming the 6th Malayalam film to do so after Mohanlal’s Pulimurugan (2016), Lucifer (2019), Tovino Thomas’s 2018 (2023), and, of course, recent sensations Premalu and Manjummel Boys. In addition to this, Prithviraj’s film has stood out as the fastest Malayalam film to deliver a gross of INR 100 crore.
