Family Star as said had a great combination of Parasuram and Vijay who earlier worked for Geetha Govindam. This film struck well with everyone and went on to gross nearly 130 crores worldwide. This is still a sensational record for any midrange hero. Everyone thought Family Star would continue the same result but the advance bookings itself explained a different story. The film had poor advance bookings compared to the previous films of Vijay.
Family Star has opened with less than half of the collections of the recently released Tillu Square in many stations and territories. This explains how the bad situation has been. The film is expected to collect just in the range of 6 crore share worldwide which is very low for the film’s target and business. The team has to work very hard to promote the film to achieve more. If the film doesn’t rise during the weekend, then it’s an end card for the Family Star.
