US Box Office – Devara Shakes The Industry!

Jr. NTR’s Devara: Part One is headed towards an earth-shattering oepning at the American box office. Helmed by Koratala Siva, the film minted a staggering $800K with presales alone, and observing the trend, it is expected to reach the one million mark in the next few days.

This has taken the trade by storm since Devara is a typical mass film and does not feature any USP such as Kalki 2898 AD (record budget) or Salaar (Prabhas-Neel combo). Despite that, the film’s advance bookings are happening at a record rate.

This is a reflection of the fact that Tarak, who originally had a modest overseas market, has gained a ton of craze post RRR (2022). Seeing the way Devara is faring, the makers must be disappointed with the fact that the film’s US theatrical rights were sold at just INR 27 crore. Experts predict that it had the potential for a business of over INR 50 crore.

Double Ismart OTT Release – Puri Jagannadh Slammed!

After a series of failures, ace filmmaker Puri Jagannadh achieved success with Ram Pothineni’s Ismart Shankar (2019). However, his next release, Liger (2022), has emerged as a colossal disaster at the box office.

Aiming to make a comeback, he joined hands with Ram once again to craft an action drama called Double Ismart (2024), a sequel to blockbuster Ismart Shankar. This too received a mixed-to-negative response upon release and eventually bombed at the ticket window. 

Following its debacle, it has had a digital premiere on Amazon Prime Video to poor reviews, with viewers criticizing the film’s foul language. Saripodhaa Sanivaaram achieved Breakeven

Saripodha Sanivaram is demonstrating his absolute dominance at both the domestic and international box offices. In just ten days, this picture has made about 45 crores share at the worldwide box office. With this, the film has reached the breakeven point globally. The movie has officially entered the profit zone but has yet to break even in the Andhra regions.

With this success, Nani has delivered hatrick success at Box office. Saripodha Sanivaram is performing exceptionally well in Overseas, Nizam and Rest Of India. In these territories the film already in profits but another one week good run is needed for Andhra buyers to break even.

Saripodhaa Sanivaaram is the 2nd biggest grosser and share film for Nani after Dasara. It’s all set to 50 Cr share mark worldwide. Nani again pulled off a film with his strong brand in audiences despite of low buzz.

This film was directed by Vivek Athreya and stars Priyanka Arul Mohan, SJ Suryah. This action film was financed by DVV Danayya. Dilraju bought the Telugu states rights.

Jailer villain Vinayakan arrested

Malayalam Actor, Vinayakan who acted as villain in Jailer starring Rajinikanth has been arrested. The Actor was taken into police custody today after he accused CISF personnel of manhandling him at Hyderabad Airport. The incident had happened following a verbal argument between Vinayakan and the particular CISF guy.

Vinayakan became so popular after portraying the antagonist character, Varman in Jailer recently. The Actor’s memes from Jailer have also become famous on social media platforms. Now, he became even more popular by getting arrested for his actions. It needs to be seen if the Actor would come out or still be behind the bars.

Actors and Actresses going to jail has become a common thing now. We saw Kannada Actor, Darshan jailed for killing his fan allegedly. The Actor is still imprisoned and no one knows when he would be out. Another Tollywood Actor, Raj Tarun has also recently stroked controversy by accused of cheating a girl who was once his lover. He is still dealing with the case. And now, Vinayakan has joined this list. This is not at all a good sign for actors to commit crime or be a part of it. Thangalaan OTT release date

Vikram starrer Thangalaan directed by Pa. Ranjith released recently. The film had also carried good hype ahead of the release. It also performed very well after the release in the first weekend. But later, Thangalaan witnessed a big drop in its performance and ended up as average at the box office. Now, Thangalaan’s OTT release date and details are out.

Thangalaan is expected to stream from September 20th in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam. The film, as said has put reasonable numbers but the makers have exaggerated the actual performance. They had also released a poster claiming Thangalaan had grossed 100 crores worldwide. This had attracted criticism and many had trolled the film and the makers, Studio Green immediately.

Thangalaan will definitely be a breather for Vikram. But there was no need of boasting the performance beyond its actual reception. This has again happened with The GOAT starring Vijay which released recently. The makers had also claimed that the film grossed about 126 crores worldwide on the opening day. This too became a big controversy which was trolled heavily. We need to see if the makers would come up with such fake numbers for the upcoming films in Kollywood.

Filmfare insults Nayanthara

Today marks the first year anniversay of the release of Jawan starring Shah Rukh Khan. The film became a big blockbuster at the box office by grossing more than 1000 crores. South Indian Actress, Nayanthara has made her official debut with the film playing the female lead. Today, Filmfare put out a post on X/Twitter about the anniversary of Jawan and mistakenly mentioned Deepika Padukone as the female lead. This way, Filmfare has insulted Nayanthara.

Deepika Padukone played an extended cameo appearance in the film. But Nayanthara played the actual female lead role. But Filmfare forgot mentioning Nayanthara in the post and highlighted only Deepika Padukone. This has not gone well with the netizens who are trolling the handle for not recognising the actual female lead. The tweet also mentioned Jawan as Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone starrer which misses the logic.

This is unfortunate and not at all expected from a reputed award giving board. The handle must change the post as soon as possible or else the trolling may reach next level. It has to be seen if Nayanthara would actually react to this or doesn’t care. But Jawan will be a very special film for Nayanthara.

Karthi clashing with NTR

Devara starring NTR is one of the most awaited films of Tollywood. The film is riding very high with expectations after the glimpse and songs release. Devara is scheduled for release on 27th September. At first, it looked like NTR had no clash with any other film. But, Karthi appeared to be clashing with NTR from nowhere.

Meiyazhagan starring Karthi and Aravind Swamy is slated for release on 27th September. The film also is releasing in Telugu as Satyam Sundaram. The pre-release event of the film has also been done recently in a grand manner. So the clash has now become official. The film is directed by C. Prem Kumar and it is also the collaboration of both Karthi and Aravind Swamy. Suriya and Jyothika are acting as producers of the film under their 2D Entertainment.

Devara is also aiming to release as a Pan Indian film. So its Tamil Version will have a direct clash in Tamil Nadu. Devara is also having a craze in the state due to the previous success of NTR’s RRR. The trailer of Devara will also release on 10th September and this changes the prospects of the film. So, let’s see who takes an upper hand in this clash.

Vijay’s The GOAT crosses 200 crores in 3 days

The GOAT starring Vijay is performing exceptionally well in Tamil Nadu and overseas market. The film has already grossed more than 150 crores worldwide in 2 days. Now, in all the regions, Day 3 is trending better than Tamil Nadu. By today, The GOAT has crossed 200 crores. Three days worldwide gross is likely to be in the range of 220 crores.

Tomorrow, the film is also expected to have a big day in Tamil Nadu being a Sunday. After the weekend, the range of the film will solely depend on the overseas market and Tamil Nadu. As other regions would obviously start struggling and may not contribute much numbers beyond the weekend. Telugu Version has already crashed.

Kerala is also witnessing a big loss. It has to be seen how The GOAT will perform in these territories in the end run. The GOAT also became Vijay’s second 100 crore opener. He becomes the only lead actor to have this record alongwith Prabhas and Shah Rukh Khan. If The GOAT crosses 400 crore mark then it would be a big achievement even with a mixed talk. So let’s wait for the next weekend to see how the film puts its final numbers.

RRR lead Actors Ram Charan and NTR are currently busy with their upcoming film, Game Changer and Devara. RRR became a Pan India Blockbuster with fans and audience hoping the actors to repeat the same magic with their next films. Likewise Game Changer and Devara had great hype. But Game Changer and Devara updates and content released fall flat to fans and audience’s disappointment.

Devara is very much better than Game Changer in terms of promotional activity. The team released time to time updates but Game Changer has completely failed in this aspect. Anything that released from the film was only a song long ago. There was no content released from the film. But now after great pressure, the team released a poster of the second single. But the release date has not been mentioned. This is very poor.

Devara trailer poster released today but the poster didn’t look striking to the eyes. It was completely off. The team could have released some other poster for the trailer release annoucement. Both Game Changer and Devara failed in certain aspects. This is not at all a good move from the teams. We have to see how these two films fare after the release. The Rajamouli Curse is still waiting.
