Chiranjeevi & Ram Charan Delay Updates!

0

The father-son duo will be next seen in Vishwambara and Game Changer, respectively. Both these ventures are big-budgeted pan-Indian films that have great potential to do big at the Indian box office. However, there have been continuous delays in these films’ updates.

The teaser of Vishwambara, a fantasy drama helmed by Mallidi Vassishta, was expected to be out on Chiru’s birthday, but for unknown reasons, that didn’t happen. Following this, fans demanded its release on Ganesh Chaturthi and that didn’t happen either. The latest buzz is that it is scheduled for a release for Dasara.

On the other hand, Shankar’s Game Changer is moving on a boring path, with makers killing the buzz around the film by not unveiling any promotional content. The political drama’s second single will be out this month, but the date is yet to be finalized. And only Jesus knows when the most-awaited teaser of the film will be out!

Jr. NTR – Set To Begin Pan India Race!

0

Prior to the release of S. S. Rajamouli’s Bahubali series, Pawan Kalyan and Mahesh Babu were touted as the biggest stars of Telugu cinema, in terms of market and fans; Allu Arjun, Ram Charan, Prabhas, and Jr. NTR come next.

However, the dynamics of cinema have undergone major changes post-Bahubali: The Conclusion (2017) release. Today, the race to the No. 1 crown is called the ‘pan-Indian craze’, i.e., achieving popularity across the length and breadth of the nation.

Taking this as the standard, Prabhas is miles ahead of any Telugu actor; in fact, any Indian actor. But now, things have begun to change. Allu Arjun with Pushpa: The Rule, Ram Charan with Game Changer, and Jr. NTR with Devara: Part One are challenging the superstardom of Prabhas.

Most significantly, Devara has taken a thunderous start at the box office in terms of pre-sales. What’s surprising is the Koratala Siva-directorial’s advance bookings are on par with the mighty Kalki 2898 AD. With the film’s theatrical trailer set to release tomorrow, the buzz around the action drama is expected to go to another level.

Thalapathy Vijay’s much-anticipated The GOAT was released last weekend amidst massive hype. The film is Vijay’s penultimate one before he steps into active politics, so every update about the film created a massive buzz. The film had a bunch of cameos and some surprising elements, which received great applause from the Tamil audience. However, the same can’t be said about other states.

GOAT has done extraordinarily well in Tamil Nadu and overseas. In Karnataka and North India, the film did decent to good collections. However, in Kerala and Telugu states, GOAT has been a disaster. Such contrasting collections from various territories has surprised many.

The film has suffered huge losses in Kerala and Telugu states. In AP & Telangana, the breakeven is at 40 Cr gross and this Venkat Prabhu film managed to collect just 9 Cr. The film has a steeper hill to climb in Kerala as the breakeven is at 45 Cr and it has managed to collect around 11 Cr.

The recovery in less than 1/4th and surprisingly, GOAT has failed to cross even Leo’s day 1 collection in both states. With the weekend gone, the film is projected to struggle even more and the buyers in both these regions are expected to face up to 70 % losses.

The GOAT OTT version to have extended runtime

0

The GOAT starring Vijay released recently and is setting box office on fire. The film has already surpassed 250 crore mark in the first weekend of its release. But many felt that the film had a long runtime with the film being nearly 3 hours. Now, it is learnt that The GOAT’s OTT version will have an extended runtime. This is even more shocking now.

Recently, Director of the film, Venkat Prabhu stated that they were actually thinking about releasing the film’s uncut version on OTT space separately. This extended version is said to be 3 Hours and 40 minutes which is a shocking number. Fans and Audience are very eager to see what the rest of 40 minutes contain as scenes. OTT rights are bought by Netflix and the film will stream on it from October 1st week. This also benefits the OTT platform viewership because of extra runtime.

The film on the other hand is not slowing down especially in Tamil Nadu and Overseas. Monday collections of the film also look solid. The film may easily touch the 300 crore mark even before the start of the second weekend. The second weekend is expected to bring in another 100 crores worldwide for the film.

0

The GOAT starring Vijay had seen an amazing start at the box office. The film grossed more than 100 crores worldwide on the opening day. This was also Vijay’s second 100 crore opener after his previous film, Leo. Overall, The GOAT’s first extended weekend has a mixed result , In Tamil Nadu and overseas the film does extremely well. In Kerala and Telugu states are Disastrous. Karnataka and North India are decent.

The GOAT 1st weekend collections early estimates
Tamil Nadu: 105 crores
Karnataka: 20 crores
Kerala: 11 crores
Telugu States: 9 crores
North India: 13 crores

The total All India es expected to be in the range of 158 crores. Overseas gross is expected to be in the range of 120 crores. Total Worldwide 1st weekend gross will be more than 275 crores. This is considered to be good overall.

The positive sign of the film is the advance bookings in Tamil Nadu for Day 5 i.e., Monday which looks very promising. Now the numbers after the weekend is mostly expected from Overseas and Tamil Nadu. The film might collect in the range of 400 crores in its full run if Tamil Nadu and Overseas markets hold well. Then this should be considered as a big achievement for a film which acquired a mixed talk.

Devara Trailer: Fans in dilemma

0

Devara starring NTR is one of the most awaited films of Tollywood. The film has finished its shoot and is under post production works currently. The trailer of the film was also announced to be released on 10th September. Fans and Audience currently expect any film to have a trailer launch directly in selected theatres. But there is no clarity regarding this on Devara’s trailer. This has put the fans in dilemma now.

Makers of many big budgeted films plan the trailer release in selected theatres across Telugu States to create big buzz. But this didn’t happen for Devara. Only the trailer date was announced. The trailer launch is also set to launch in Mumbai. NTR has already landed in Mumbai for promotional activities. The trailer will mostly be released in Mumbai itself. But fans and audience as said want to experience the euphoria of trailer in theatres since the film has a Pan India appeal.

So we have to wait and see if the makers listen to their requests and plan for the trailer release in a festive way. The film is scheduled for release on 27th September worldwide. NTR is also aiming high to establish himself as a Pan India star with Devara.

Directors’ overconfidence killing films

0

Recently released Indian 2 and The GOAT had almost the same run time. These two films were over 3 hours on screen. Directors of these films, Shankar and Venkat Prabhu were also not bothered about this long runtime. They opined that for the span that was narrated this runtime was needed. But these directors’ overconfidence is killing films overall.

Many raised doubts over the long run time these two films had. But the directors didn’t care and audience felt the lag while watching these films on screen. If films contain any important scenes then it can be understood but these directors included many unnecessary scenes that disturbed the flow. We saw many complaining about the run time in Indian 2 and the same now happened again with The GOAT. Many said that The GOAT felt lagging and opined that many scenes must have a trimming.

Directors overconfidence on their job is literally killing their own films. They say that every scene was important but it isn’t in reality. After the release, they release this and start trimming some portions. But the damage will be done already which affects the talk of the film. So they must realise this before the release of the film itself. We have to see if other directors learn it atleast with these two films.

But on the other hand, Mahesh Babu is currently preparing himself physically for his upcoming film with SS Rajamouli. The film is also rumoured to start anytime this December. Balakrishna is already working with Director Bobby for NBK109 and will also act in his son Mokshagna’s film directed by Prasanth Varma.
