Director Vivek Athreya is one of the most talented directors of Telugu cinema in this generation. He created a good image with content-driven and fresh films. Now, the latest buzz is that Vivek Athreya will direct Superstar Rajinikanth.

Known for love stories and comedy dramas, Vivek, with his recent release, Saripodha Sanivaaram, proved that he can also pull off a mass commercial film. He is said to have written a powerful gangster story.

The big news is that Vivek Athreya will direct Superstar Rajinikanth with that story. According to the reports, the Ante Sundaraniki director has narrated the plot to Rajini, and the superstar is yet to give the nod. 

Rajinikanth is listening to multiple stories for his next but has not confirmed anything yet. Currently, he is working on Jailer 2, and his next release is Coolie, on August 14, 2025.

ETV Win brings a new series called AIR – All India Rankers. The Telugu series. The series became popular for is relatable content but it also had its share of controversies. Let us see what this student drama has in store in our review.

Story:

The series follows Raju, Arjun, and Imran at the renowned AIR Academy in Vijayawada for ITT coaching. What begins as a fun adventure quickly turns into college politics, where they encounter tough challenges. The way they tackle these situations and come out on top is what the series is all about.

Performances:

Harsh Roshan from Court-State vs. A Nobody really steals the show, and this young guy’s got a promising future ahead. His style of delivering lines and his vibe on screen really make him an actor to keep an eye on. 

The other guys, Bhanu Prakash and Jayateertha, are perfect in what they do. Chaitanya Rao does a fantastic job as the teacher, and it would have been nice to have his role introduced earlier. Harsha Chemudu entertains well in a brief role.

Sameer, Ramana Bhargav and Jeevan Kumar are natural and add value to the proceedings, while Sandeep Raj leaves a good impression in a negative character. Sunil appears in a cameo and he is good.

Analysis:

Joseph Clinton directed AIR, presented by renowned director Sandeep Raj. The show features the exploitation of students by ITT coaching institutes in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. This aspect is presented entertainingly.

AIR begins with humor and shows the funny antics of three young guys, and highlights their journeys to All India Rankers Institute, personal histories, and challenges they face.

There’s a good balance of fun scenes and beautifully captured emotional moments in the last episodes. However, the director could have established how the three main characters bond.

The way students deal with pressure from management to earn high scores feels pretty average. We’ve come across these kinds of scenes in a number of films and series, and AIR just follows the same formula.

In AIR, Chaitanya Rao’s role as a dedicated lecturer is interesting, but it does not take enough attention. The director missed a chance to bring it up earlier and connect with the students. 

Sometimes, the story slows down, and it takes too long to uncover the major conflict. Some unnecessary scenes make it a bit of a drag.
