Riding high on the success of Amaran, Sivakarthikeyan came up with Madharaasi, directed by AR Murugadoss. The movie was released in theaters on September 5. Madharaasi had a decent first weekend at the box office.

Here Are The Area-Wise Gross Collections:

Tamil Nadu: 35 Cr
Telugu States: 3.7 Cr
Karnataka: 3.75 Cr
Kerala: 1.5 Cr
ROI: 0.7 Cr

Madharaasi’s total All India Gross for the first weekend at the box office is 44.5 Cr, with Overseas Gross at 17.5 Cr, bringing the worldwide gross to 62 Cr. The film did not do much in Telugu states.

The film needs to hold very strong on weekdays, as it needs to collect 150 Cr gross collection for a hit status at the box office. If it had received positive talk, then it could have achieved more collections in the first 3 days.

The latest Malayalam blockbuster, Lokah, had a rampage the 2nd weekend at the box office, and 2nd-weekend collections are much bigger than the opening weekend. The film also grossed 10 million overseas, which is a sensational achievement.

Within the 11 days of its theatrical run, the film emerged as the all-time 4th biggest grosser for Mollywood with a close to 60 Cr gross collection in Kerala and a double-digit gross in the Telugu states, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and the rest of India.

Lokah also crosses 10 million USD overseas and becomes the 3rd film for Mollywood after Empuraan and Thudarum and the 1st non-Mohanlal film to achieve this milestone in Malayalam films.

Overall, for 11 days, the film’s gross is more than 185 Cr, and it is all set to cross the 200 Cr mark by Tuesday. It is heading towards industry hit status in its full run.

The recent Tamil action drama, Coolie, ended its box office run in all areas. Even though the film received below-par WOM and reviews, it managed to enter the top 5 in many territories. Rajinikanth and Lokesh Kanagaraj rule the Middle East with Coolie.

Overall, the film emerges as the all-time 4th biggest grosser for Kollywood at the worldwide box office. Coming to the Middle East, Coolie collected $2.77M in the UAE, $1.03M in the GCC, and $585K in Saudi Arabia, which takes its total to $4.39M—the 4th highest number of all time.

Leo – $6.70M
Jailer – $6.53M
Vikram – $5.05M
Coolie—$4.39M
2Point0 $4.19M

Even if Coolie had managed to get a decent WOM, it could have easily secured the No. 1 position. In the top 5 of all the films in the Middle East, all are either Lokesh Kanagaraj’s film or Rajinikanth’s film. The superstar has 3 films, and Lokesh Kanagaraj has 3 films.

Madharaasi Weekend Collection Decent: Monday Bookings Disappoint

0

AR Murugadoss and Sivakarthikeyan’s action thriller Madharaasi was released in theaters on September 5 and received average reviews. The film’s weekend collections are decent, but the Monday bookings disappoint the trade.

The film held decently on the opening weekend despite average response with early estimates at 60 Cr gross collections worldwide, but the concern is tomorrow’s advances, which are very low.

For the valued business, the film needs to collect around 150 Cr gross to achieve the hit status. As of now, the recovery for the opening weekend is just 40%. The trade expected much better from the film.

So, it needs a very strong run till the 2nd weekend at least, but the Monday advances for Sivakarthikeyan’s Madharaasi are very poor. The film needs strong walk-ins for a decent hold.

Little Hearts achieves Double Recovery on the Opening Weekend

For 3 days the film collected more than 11 Cr gross worldwide, which means Little Hearts achieved double recovery, and it will easily do double-digit share in the full run as well.
