The online uproar began when rumors spread online claiming that Aamir Khan regretted his cameo in the film and had allegedly called it a “big mistake.” This sparked heated debates among fans and media outlets.

Besides this, the lukewarm reception to Aamir’s cameo may have led to the shelving of a planned superhero film collaboration between him and Lokesh Kanagaraj. While this has not been officially confirmed, it is almost confirmed.

0

Actor Suriya has multiple films to be released in the coming months. He has one movie with RJ Balaji and another one with Venky Atluri. But Suriya’s films’ release dates have to be reshuffled.

Karuppu, directed by RJ Balaji, is planned for a Diwali 2025 release. Suriya 46, which is directed by Venky Atluri, is planned for a May 2026 release.

Because of the OTT rights issues, the makers of Karuppa are thinking of moving to April 2026, and with this, Suriya 46 cannot be released for summer, as at least a 3-month gap is needed for films of one star hero.

Suriya now needs to reshuffle his movies’ release dates. His 46th film should move to July/August if Suriya 45, Karuppu, confirms the release date of April 14, 2026.

0

Pawan Kalyan’s OG is gearing up for a release on the 25th of September. The film already carries an immense craze, and the Telugu States distributors push for premieres with flat rates for OG.

The Telugu states’ theatrical rights have been sold for more than 150 Cr, which is one of the biggest deals ever. As the distributors bought the film for record prices, they are pushing the makers to screen premieres with flat ticket prices like Pushpa 2 and Hari Hara Veera Mallu.

Pawan Kalyan’s OG will have premieres before the release day

The distributors are confident that the premieres for OG will easily work with flat ticket prices, and it will be easy for their recovery too.

There is no doubt that Premieres will go housefull at any ticket prices because Hari Hara Veera Mallu, even with a low buzz, had a tremendous response at flat prices, and “They Call Him OG” is having a phenomenal craze, and distributors/makers want to cash in on it.

There might be no issues in getting permissions from the Andhra Pradesh government, but in Telangana we need to wait and see how the government will react to this request.

Also, screening premieres will have both risks and rewards, and we should wait to know how makers proceed with the idea.

But the buzz in the industry is that OG will have special premieres on the 24th night in all stations with flat prices.

Mirai received a fantastic opening in all Telugu states’ territories. The film has collected a 3.6 Cr share in Telangana and a 3.7 Cr share in Andhra Pradesh, with a total of 7.3 Cr share and a gross of approximately 13 Cr worldwide.

This is an extraordinary start for the film, and the best thing is that Day 2 is trending towards a bigger number than the opening day. The film is eyeing a 40 Cr+ gross weekend in Telugu states.

Trade expects Teja Sajja’s Mirai to collect 100 Cr gross in Telugu states easily. Looking at the openings and today’s trend along with tomorrow’s advance bookings, it looks definitely possible.

As the Karthik Gattamneni directorial carries good reviews, trade anticipates that the film will have a good long run at the box office.

Lokah Smashes 100 Cr in Overseas Markets

0

A few days back, the Malayalam blockbuster Lokah joined the 100 Cr club at the domestic box office (India), and now it joins the 100 Cr club overseas too. It became the 2nd film to collect more than 100 Cr gross overseas after Empuraan in Mollywood.

Till now, the worldwide gross of the film is more than 220 Cr in 16 days, and today the film will surpass the 80 Cr figure in Kerala.

Lokah has crossed 100 cr overseas, and it is all set to achieve a big milestone that no film has achieved to date.

In the history of Malayalam cinema, no film has collected 100 Cr in both Kerala and overseasterritories. Mohanlal’s Empuraan missed in Kerala, while his other film, Thudarum, missed overseas.

But Lokah: Chapter-1 Chandra has already achieved the feat overseas, and it will achieve the same in Kerala in one week.

Prithviraj Productions and FEUOK (one of Kerala’s theatre associations) over revenue share terms made the fans worried, but now the issues are said to have been resolved.

No issues for Kantara Chapter One Release in Kerala

So, Kantara Chapter One will have a smooth release in Kerala, and the agreed terms are said to be 55% for the first week and 50% for the second week.

Kantara Prequel’s Plot Line

Kantara: Chapter 1 is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious Indian films of 2025, as it dives deep into the roots of folklore, spirituality, and ancestral legacy.

This prequel to the 2022 hit Kantara explores the origins of Kaadubettu Shiva, set during the Kadamba dynasty era in pre-colonial coastal Karnataka. The film delves into the ancient Bhuta Kola ritual and the mythic guardianship of sacred land, blending action, mysticism, and cultural heritage.

Karnataka Finally Caps Ticket Prices

0

For a few days, there was a big buzz about the Karnataka Government capping the ticket prices in the state, and now today an official announcement came, which has put an effective cinema ticket price cap.

The single screens’ and multiplex screens’ price cap has been fixed at ₹236 as the maximum charge, including recliners and all taxes.

However, high-end multiplex screens with 75 seats of premium facilities will not come under this price cap. It means screens like PVR Director’s Cut can continue to charge their regular ticket prices.

Karnataka Government’s Official Notification of cinema ticket price at Rs 200

On Friday, September 12, the Karnataka government announced that the highest ticket price for any movie in any language at all theaters, including multiplexes, is set at Rs 200, not counting taxes. However, multi-screen cinemas with premium features and 75 seats or fewer don’t have to follow this Rs 200 cap.

This new move is part of a bigger plan by the state government, which tried to control ticket prices back in 2017, but those efforts got stopped after the High Court intervened. The new rules coming in are likely to ease things for movie fans, especially since going to the movies at multiplexes has gotten pricier lately.

Mirai: Buy One Get One

0

Teja Sajja’s Mirai opens very huge in Telugu and is showing an excellent trend on day 2. But in Hindi the opening day net is over 1.5 Cr in India despite positive reviews. To push the film’s collections, the north distributor came up with a buy-one-get-one-ticket offer for Mirai.

Mirai Hindi: Dharma Productions Provides Buy-One-Get-One Offer

The makers expect very big collections in Hindi because of the genre, and Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions released the film in India. The buy-one-get-one offer for Mirai is expected to bring good numbers today.

But this offer is valid only for shows in Hindi for India except South India (Karnataka, Andhra, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala).

It can certainly help the film to witness more footfalls and to spread the positive WOM, and if the movie picks up good pace over the weekend, then Mirai’s Hindi version will see good numbers with a long run.
