No More Experiments: Chiranjeevi Returns to Mass Entertainers

0

Megastar Chiranjeevi made a solid comeback in films with Khaidi No. 150 and delivered a non-Baahubali industry hit. After observing his recent films, Chiranjeevi returns to mass entertainers now.

After a superb comeback, Chiru, along with commercial entertainers, also did big-budget historical fantasy films like Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, Vishwambhara (to be released), and a political film, Godfather.

Chiranjeevi says no more experiments and returns to mass entertainers

His mass films, like Waltair Veerayya, became big hits, but his other films, where he tried something different from his image, have not worked well with issues of budgets, etc.

With this, the veteran actor seems not to be interested in doing any experiments from now on and decided to stick to his strength, which is being a mass commercial entertainer. Chiranjeevi returns to mass entertainers, and his next films are proof of that.

Currently, Chiru is shooting for Anil Ravipudi’s film, slated for Sankranthi release, and he signed his next with Bobby, which is also a mass entertainer, and thereafter, he will be working with Srikanth Odela.

All these films are commercial entertainers and will not involve heavy VFX or other big aspects like Pan-Indian films.

Kuberaa Climax Disappoints OTT Viewers

0

After a successful theatrical run, Sekhar Kammula’s Kuberaa has entered the digital field. Starring Dhanush and Nagarjuna in the lead roles, Kuberaa’s climax disappoints OTT viewers.

Released in theaters on June 20th, Kuberaa received positive reviews, but if we see theatrically, the Telugu version is a hit, but the movie could have done much better for the reviews it got.

OTT Viewers do not like Kuberaa’s Climax

The main reason for the underperformance of the film is that audiences were disappointed with the climax. Even in Tamil, the film became a disaster due to the bad climax.

Now the movie is streaming on Prime Video, and the OTT audiences too felt that the movie was good till the climax, but the end part made it down.

Much like the theatrical audiences, Kuberaa’s climax disappoints OTT viewers as well. The performances, DSP’s background score, and Sekhar Kammula’s honest storytelling are getting good appreciation from OTT viewers.

Theatrically, it did not do much in other languages, but after the OTT release, the movie is getting good appreciation, but the unanimous complaint is about the climax only.

Hari Hara Veera Mallu Premieres with One Flat Ticket Price

0

The theatrical business of Pawan Kalyan’s Hari Hara Veera Mallu: Part 1—Sword vs. Spirit has not been finished yet. Meanwhile, the buzz is that Hari Hara Veera Mallu will have premieres with one flat ticket price.

Premiers with flat ticket prices in Telugu cinema started with Pushpa 2, and it worked wonders for the most hyped sequel, as it saw good occupancies despite an 800 ticket price.

Now the same is being planned for HHVM. The team is said to have applied for a 100 rs hike on the ticket price in both Telugu States for regular shows for 1st 10 days.

Moreover, the team is also said to have applied for special premieres before the release day with a flat ticket price.

The team is said to be super confident about the film, and that is why they are planning the premieres in Telugu states on July 23rd. Pawan Kalyan is one of the biggest stars when it comes to openings.

So, definitely the occupancy in theaters for the special premieres will be full despite the huge price. Meanwhile, the netizens discuss the pros and cons as Pawan Kalyan’s Hari Hara Veera Mallu will have premieres with one flat ticket price.

If the movie opens with a positive WOM, then the weekend will be very, very big. In recent weeks, after Kuberaa, no movie has worked well at the box office, which is an added advantage for the film.

Coolie Falls Short of Vijay’s Record in Kerala

0

Coolie is the most hyped project of Tamil cinema this year. Marking the first ever collaboration of Rajinikanth and Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film has massive hype, but Coolie falls short of Vijay’s record in Kerala.

As said above, the action drama has produced a lot of hype among fans, which has led it to do record business everywhere. However, it could not repeat the feat in the heartland of Malayalam cinema.

Rajinikanth’s Coolie fails to beat Vijay’s Record in Kerala

Rajinikanth and Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie falls short of Vijay’s record in Kerala. Vijay’s film, Leo, had its Kerala rights sold for 16 Cr, and it became a profitable venture.

Vijay’s next film, GOAT: The Greatest Of All-Time, was sold for 17 Cr, but it ended up as a massive loss venture for the distributor.

Coming to the Coolie, the film’s Kerala deal has been closed for the 3rd biggest price with 14 Cr. Now, to achieve breakeven, the film needs to collect more than 35 Cr gross, which will definitely be an easy task with positive WOM.

Superstar Rajinikanth’s Coolie will clash at the box office with Hrithik Roshan and NTR’s War 2 in theaters this Independence Day Weekend. The latest news is that Coolie is set to challenge War 2 in North Circuits.

It is a known truth that the Tamil film industry is struggling in the Pan-India race. Before Baahubali, the Tamil cinema industry was the biggest of South Indian cinema.

Tamil Cinema lags behind in Pan-India Race

However, after Baahubali, Tollywood started acquiring other languages, especially Hindi. Even the Kannada industry also scored big in Hindi with the KGF series and the recent Kantara series.

Whereas Kollywood still struggles to make a big impact in Hindi belts, which is the reason they have not scored a 1000 Cr grosser yet.

Rajinikanth and Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie carries massive buzz, and everyone anticipates that it will deliver 1000 Cr at the box office for sure.

Rajinikanth and Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie is all set to challenge War 2 in North Belts

Recently a buzz started that Rajini and Lokesh’s film may not release in Hindi multiplex screens due to the 4-week OTT window.

However, the news is said to be false, as the Hindi version of the Tamil biggie will have an 8-week OTT window, and the movie will be released massively in Hindi too.

War 2 vs Coolie faceoff was expected to be only limited to South audiences, but now Rajinikanth’s Coolie is set to challenge Hrithik Roshan and NTR’s War 2 in North Circuits.

Certainly, the sequel of War will have a big edge in Hindi belts, but Coolie: The Power House will also make some numbers due to its massive star cast.

The action drama stars Rajinikanth, Nagarjuna and it is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. Moreover, it also has Aamir Khan’s presence, which for sure will create some interest in northern audiences too.

Junior Movie Review: An Inconsistent Journey

Movie Name: Junior
Rating: 2.25/5
Cast:
Kireety Reddy, Sree Leela, Genelia, Ravichandran, Sudharnai, Achyuth Kumar, Rao Ramesh, and Others
Director: Radhakrishan reddy
Produced By:
Rajani Korrapati
Release Date: 18th July 2025

Junior, the debut movie of Kireeti Reddy, the son of politician Janardhan Reddy, made it to the theatres today, after three years after it was first launched. Directed by Radhakrishna Reddy, the film stars Sree Leela as the female lead, and her dance moves in Viral Vayyari Song made it a chartbuster.

Let us find out how this youthful entertainer has been shaped in our review.

Story:

The film Junior revolves around Abhi (Kireeti) and his discomfort with his dad’s intense love. The movie focuses on how he learns to appreciate his dad and the rivalry with his boss, played by Genelia, unfolds.

Performances:

Kireeti debuts with Junior, giving it his all to succeed and appear at ease. He does not quite match the hyperactive vibe of the first half, but he definitely does better with the more relaxed and emotional moments later on. He has a natural flow in his dance moves.

Sreeleela gets a forgettable role. In the first half, she shows up in some regular scenes but then disappears, only to pop back in during the Viral Vayyari song where she totally steals the show with her glamour and dance moves. Her character does not even get a proper ending.

Ravi Chandran might not have a super deep role, but he still makes a great impression. Genelia struggles to bring life to an important character that does not have a logical development or influence on the film. While Rao Ramesh and Achyut Rao get stuck with half-hearted parts, comedians Satya and Viva Harsha only squeeze out a few chuckles.

Analysis:

Radha Krishna Reddy’s Junior opens with a handful of quick but heartfelt moments and some slick visuals. The casting for the father’s sets a natural tone early on.

Next up, the film rolls out as the hero steps into college, leading to a regular chase and a catchy intro song for him.

Still, from that point until the intermission, the film has a tough time because of its lifeless plot.

The part where the hero tries to ‘make memories’ feels old and just is not funny at all, and the director wastes a lot of time in the first half on these scenes, which makes the film tiring.

Junior’s second half starts off on an emotional note and stays more realistic compared to the crazy, over-the-top first half.

The way Abhi uncovers his father’s story and the subsequent events keep things interesting. But the impact fades away since Genelia’s moments with the hero or the villagers feel weak.

The villains and their parts fall flat, lacking the ability to create any kind of tension in the plot.

An awkwardly funny scene unfolds when the Hero imagines bringing Sree Leela to the village, and that leads to the Viral Vayyari song.

The climax brings some sentiment regarding the hero’s situation with his father but it could have been handled way better.

Positives:

  • Initial Scenes
  • Ravichandran’s Character and Performance
  • A Few Sentiment Scenes

Negatives:

  • Tedious Narration
  • Illogical Moments in the First Half
  • Lack of Proper Emotions
  • Outdated Scenes

Junior Movie Review and Verdict:

Junior is an inconsistent movie with many lows and only a few highs. Debutante Kireeti Reddy’s ease, Ravichandran’s performance and a few emotional parts work for it while the other outdated and boring scenes work
