Kishkindhapuri Box Office: Strong First Weekend, Heading Towards Success

0

Kishkindhapuri, the horror thriller starring Bellamkonda Sreenivas, does not have much pre-buzz, and it came to theaters in competition with Mirai, and all the focus of audiences shifted towards it. But Kishkindhapuri has a strong first weekend and is heading towards success.

Despite facing the big Mirai storm, Kishkindhapuri successfully finds its audiences and shows impressive collections on the 1st weekend.

The film’s trend on the weekend is very good, as day 3 is bigger than day 2, which itself is bigger than the opening day. The trend suggests that there is positive WOM in audiences.

Overall, for the weekend the film collected more than 11.5 Cr gross, and to achieve breakeven it needs to collect 15 Cr gross. This means Kishkindhpuri has more than 75% recovery at the box office on the first weekend alone.

A decent hold on weekdays is enough for the film’s box office success, and if the film holds strong and sees a good run at the box office, then it will emerge as a huge blockbuster.

Teja Sajja vs Teja Sajja: Mirai Surpasses HanuMan in First Weekend Collections

0

Teja Sajja’s HanuMan creates new milestones for Tier-2 star films. In the opening weekend the film collected 20 Cr+ gross for all 3 days, which was a record. But now Teja Sajja himself achieved this milestone, as Mirai also collected 20 Cr+ gross in all three days of opening weekend.

Teja is breaking his own records at the box office and establishing himself as a bigger hero among the tier-2 heroes at the box office.

For the opening weekend, HanuMan collected around 71 Cr gross worldwide, whereas Mirai’s early estimates for the weekend are around 75 Cr gross, which means it comfortably crosses Hanuman. These are nothing but insane collections.

But crossing the Hanuman’s collections in full run is not possible for Mirai, as Hanuman had the Sankranti festival after the weekend, but Mirai does not have any festival advantage.

However, Mirai numbers are still very huge, and it is on track to achieve a 150 Cr gross mark in its full run.

India vs Pakistan Match Fails to Impact Movie Box Office Collections

0

Normally whenever there is a cricket match of Team India, the box office will see a hit, and if our country plays against Pak, it will even impact biggies. However, the Asia Cup match between India and Pakistan failed to impact the box office collections of Teja Sajja’s Mirai and other films this weekend.

As said above, cricket matches, especially ICC or multinational tournaments, have always affected the collections of movies, and that is the reason even movie teams postpone the release whenever there are big matches for Team India.

But surprisingly today, despite the Asia Cup match between India and Pakistan, the box office did not see any impact.

All films—Mirai, Kishkindhapuri, Little Hearts, Lokah, and Demon Slayer—are having their biggest days at the box office. There might be many analyses for people losing interest in cricket.

But this is a good relief for theater owners, especially after a long time. Telugu theater owners see a big relief with continuous housefuls this weekend, and they are very happy that audiences are coming out for movies continuously.

Coolie Overseas Box Office: Final Area-Wise Collections Report

0

Rajinikanth and Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie overseas theatrical rights were sold for an all-time record price for Kollywood, 81 Cr. Released in August, the film opened with record bookings and the record opening ever for Kollywood.

However, as the film opens with unfavorable WOM and reviews, trade expected it may see heavy losses, as the overseas box office mostly depends on reviews. But Coolie somehow manages to post reasonably good collections in overseas territories.

Coolie Area-Wise Closing Collections Overseas:

North America $7M
Middle East: $4.4M
Malaysia $3M
UK-Europe $2.9M
Singapore $1.2M
Australia and NZ $1.1 M
Sri Lanka $0.6M
Rest $0.2M

Rajinikanth’s Coolie’s total overseas collections stand at $20.4M (180 Cr gross), and the share will be around 75 Cr. So, overall, the film ended with around 10% losses for buyers, but it could have easily made 30M if the film’s content/hype matched Vikram.

Director Maruthi is working with a big hero for the first time with The Raja Saab, which stars Pan Indian Star Prabhas. The film is scheduled to be released for this Sankranthi. Maruthi confirms that Raja Saab has been made on a massive 400 crore budget.

Known for successful films like Prema Katha Chitram and Bhale Bhale Magadivoy, director Maruthi presents Beauty, a romantic drama releasing in theaters on 19th September, and its trailer was released yesterday.

In the trailer release event, Maruthi reveals that Raja Saab was made on a massive budget of 400 Crore. The director also criticized a few directors who blame audiences for their film’s failure.

Maruthi Lashes Out At Directors

“People are talking like madmen just to attract audiences. They’re saying they’ll quit making films and using vulgar language. Just because one film didn’t work, do you have to stoop so low? If this film doesn’t succeed, another one will.

No one has written as many double-meaning dialogues as I have. But why am I not writing them now? Because I want families to come to the theatre. We must give them good cinema. The same director who was once labeled a “vulgar filmmaker” (Maurthi mentioning himself) is now making Raja Saab with a ₹400 crore budget.”

People Media Factory produces Raja Saab, and the makers confirmed that the 1st trailer is releasing for Dasara, and the trailer will be attached to Kantara 2. The first single will be out on Prabhas’ birthday, and the movie is set for a 9th January 2026, release.

Pawan Kalyan officially announced his retirement from movies to focus completely on politics. He is all set to release OG on the 25th of this month. Now, Pawan Kalyan bids farewell to films as an actor by wrapping up the shoot of Ustaad Bhagat Singh.

Although PK announced that he would not do films a few years ago, he had to finish the committed films that were already on sets. This year, he completed Hari Hara Veera Mallu, which was released 2 months back.

OG, which is the most hyped movie, has also finished shooting and is gearing up for a 25 September release.

Now he wraps up shooting for the final film, Ustaad Bhagat Singh. Actress Raashi Khanna shared a post on Instagram regarding this. She plays the 2nd lead actress in the film, and the first lead is Sree Leela.

As it was the last film for his plans, certainly we can say that Pawan Kalyan bids farewell to films. We need to wait and see whether he will get back on the films’ sets in the future.

Is Madharaasi a Flop?

0

Sivakarthikeyan’s Madharaasi did not have much pre-release buzz despite his last film, Amaran, being a big blockbuster. It received decent reviews upon its release. But unfortunately, Madharaasi ends as a flop at the box office.

Amaran was also a big hit in Telugu states, but the Telugu audiences did not like Madharaasi at all. However, in Tamil the film received positive reviews and performed well on the 1st weekend.

But after the weekend the film had a huge drop in collections, and there were some expectations that big momentum would be there on the 2nd weekend, but even on the 2nd weekend the action thriller is going on a very dull note.

For 9 days, the film has collected 50 Cr gross in Tamil Nadu and around 87 Cr gross worldwide. Now it is almost confirmed that the film will not see many numbers from tomorrow, and it will likely end around 105 Cr gross at the box office.

This is definitely a disappointing box office collection, and the film is heading towards a loss venture in all territories. Overall, Sivakarthikeyan and AR Murugadoss’s Madharaasi is a flop at the box office.

Ram Gopal Varma Slaps Himself Because of Manchu Manoj

0

Teja Sajja and Karthik Gattamneni’s Mirai became a big hit and is heading towards a big blockbuster at the box office. The veteran director Ram Gopal Varma slaps himself because of Manchu Manoj’s performance in the film.

RGV took to his X (Twitter) and said that after watching Mirai, he honestly can’t recall the last time VFX felt this grand, even in films with budgets over ₹400 crore.

He also said that he saw Manchu Manoj as a miscast as the villain, but after seeing the powerful performance, Ram Gopal Varma had to slap himself for doubting Manchu Manoj. The controversial filmmaker also appreciated Teja Sajja and stated that the actor looked cool in the action sequences.

According to RGV, the visuals, background score, and screenplay structure of Mirai are simple, and certain moments, especially the interval block, the build-up, and the devotional undertones, felt deeply immersive.

He tagged director Karthik Gattamneni and said that Mirai’s success came because it feels like a vivid dream. Its mythology painted in visual brilliance, layered with heroism. The film achieves its ambition through masterful control of Karthik over every department.

Also, the Rangeela director appreciated producer Vishwa Prasad for choosing passion over industry warnings and choosing to believe in the content of the film.

As Ram Gopal Varma congratulates the team of Mira, a few online users see his post as mere publicity, while a section supports him, as he really liked the film and the efforts behind it.

Sundarakanda OTT Release Date Confirmed

0

Nara Rohith came with Sundarakanda, a comedy drama, this August. The movie got positive reviews and WOM, but it did not perform well at the box office. The latest news is that the film will arrive on OTT soon.

Reportedly, the digital rights of the film have been bought by Jio Hotstar, and Nara Rohith’s Sundarakanda will be streaming on OTT from this month’s end.

The team failed to create minimal buzz pre-release, and Nara Rohit’s market has seen a huge decline recently. With all these audiences prepared in their minds to watch the film when it arrives on OTT.

Directed by Venktesh Nimmalapudi, this comedy drama has Sri Devi Vijaykumar in a crucial role, while Vriti Vaghani appears as the female lead. Naresh Vijaya Krishna, Vasuki Anand, Satya, Ajay, VTV Ganesh, Abhinav Gomatam, and others took on supporting roles.

No Whistles for Rana

0

Teja Sajja and Karthik Gattmaneni’s Mirai is shaking the box office in its first weekend. Manchu Manoj played the main villain’s role, and it also has Rana in a cameo, which appears at the end of the movie. But surprisingly, Rana’s entry failed to bring whistles in theaters.

Recently a new trend has started in Telugu films, where a film introduces a star in the end as a lead to the next part. These kinds of cameos normally work very well and get a big response in theaters.

Mirai: Rana’s Cameo fails to impress audiences

In Mirai also the team introduced Rana at the end and announced part two. However, either the scene did not connect to audiences or the actor somehow failed to bring that aura; as a result, shockingly, there were no whistles when Rana’s character is introduced in Mirai’s end.

The director could have presented the lead scene for the next part and Rana’s character much better. Even though Mirai is already heading towards a huge blockbuster, with a not-so-strong lead scene, a huge anticipation might not be created for the next parts.
