Robinhood’s Failure Forces Thammudu Postponement?

0

Nithiin expected a massive comeback with his latest release, Robinhood, and he officially said that the film will start a new inning for him as he has seen a series of failures before. However, the film became a big failure, and now, Robinhood’s failure forces Thammudu’s Postponement.

Robinhood: An Unexpected Debacle for Nithiin

Robinhood failed to impress everyone and emerged as one of the biggest disaster in Nithiin’s career. The actor’s next film is Thammudu, directed by Venu Sriram , Produced by Dil Raju. This film was planned for a May 9th release, but now a postponement seems definite.

Thammudu Postponed from May 9th?

On 9th May, Pawan Kalyan’s Hari Hara Veera Mallu is announced, and May is a very busy month with a lot of biggies coming. HIT 3, Hari Hara Veera Mallu, and Kingdom are slated for release, and Kalyan Ram’s film is also coming in May.

Robinhood’s Result Affects Thamudu’s Release Plans

So the Thammudu must release in competition if it wants to arrive in May, and mainly it will make just a one-month gap from Robinhood. Releasing such a film quickly after a disaster is not a good thing, and at the same time, Nithin also needs some time to come out of the debacle of Robinhood, as he put a lot of expectations on it.

With all these, the film may not arrive in May, and Robinhood’s failure forces Thammudu’s postponement. Even the makers also did not give any update on Nithiin’s birthday about the Thammudu film’s release date due to this tough phase.

No Eid Boost for Sikandar

0

Salman Khan’s latest release, Sikandar, directed by AR Murugadoss, had a disappointing start at the box office. The film opened with just a 25 Cr net collection in India on the opening day despite the Sunday/holiday advantage. The surprising thing is, no Eid boost for Sikandar.

Today is the most anticipated Eid day, and the film did not take the expected jump. The early estimates are just in the range of 27 Cr net, which means it is not even a 10% jump on the festival day, which is shocking, and it also says that the movie will not sustain from here after.

Salman Khan’s Sikandar Fails to Capitalize on the EID Festival

Sikandar had no boost on Eid, and maybe tomorrow it might see a decent collection as the post-Eid day will also be like a holiday for Muslim people, but from Wednesday, it is likely to go with a single digit.

We need to see whether the film will go near the 150 Cr net in its full run. For 2 days, the film’s net is around 52 Cr, and reaching the 150 Cr net is certainly a Herculean task for Sikandar.

This will be a great opportunity for the director to make a big comeback. Reportedly, the film will be produced by Mythri Movie Makers. The film will start very immediately, as now Harish Shankar is free, as Ustaad Bhagat Singh will take more time to go on sets again.

It is also being said that Salman Khan is keen to work with Harish Shankar for his next film only. Mythri Movies’ banner is establishing its brand in Bollywood with Telugu directors. Empuraan and MAD Square Prove Sequels Are Here to Stay

0

There has been a rise in sequels in Indian cinema in recent years. Empuraan from Malayalam and MAD Square from Telugu are the latest sequels that have been released in theaters this weekend, and they have proved that sequels are here to stay.

Empuraan and MAD Square Box Office: Both Sequels See Massive Success

Normally, when films get mixed WOM, they can not perform like, and the collections will not be equal to a hit movie’s collections. But for sequels, the situation is different as they carry huge craze.

That is why, even with mixed WOM, sequels are performing like sensational blockbuster range films. The big advantage for a sequel movie is that the audience will not worry much about the content/plot and just want to enjoy the same characters/scenes in a different setup.

Sequel Craze: Whether Small Film or Big Film

Mohanlal’s Empuraan receives mixed talk, but it does a record-breaking collection of 170 cr+ gross in 4 days, setting new benchmarks for Mollywood. Similarly, MAD Square received mixed reviews, but it collected 40 cr+ gross in 3 days.

The film is expected to break even today and is heading towards sensational blockbuster status. The box office performance of Empuraan and MAD Square proves that sequels are here to stay.

L2:Empuraan shatters records: 100 crore overseas in 4 days – A first for Mollywood

0

L2: Empuraan has created a major sensation at the box office. The film released amidst great hype and buzz lived up to its expectations though receiving mixed reviews and word of mouth. Particularly, the overseas market has stunned everyone including the team for its performance. L2: Empuraan took a major opening there with around $5 Million.

The film’s business was done for 30 crores. To achieve the breakeven mark, it has to collect $9 Million there. This was perceived as risky by many since Mollywood’s biggest film, 2018 collected only around $8 Million there. But, L2: Empuraan shocked all by taking the overseas market by storm. Usually, the mixed word of mouth impacts a film in a big way but L2: Empuraan has no effect on it. The film continues to rake in strong numbers at the box office.

For the opening weekend of 4 days, the film has collected $12 Million meaning that the film has joined 100 crore club. L2: Empuraan has also become the first ever 100 crore overseas grosser for Mollywood and also the biggest overseas grosser Indian film this year. This is indeed a remarkable feat by the film. The film is now eyeing the 150 crore club in the overseas region.

All the teams are going to Japan to promote their films, but the numbers are not coming in large, excluding RRR. If we calculate the Devara gross for the weekend, it will be 60L INR.

All Indian films do well on weekends but are not able to maintain the momentum, excluding RRR. We need to see how Devara will do in the long run.

Robinhood fails to impress on Ugadi, and now it is confirmed that the film will be a disaster.

Robinhood Couldn’t Use the Festival Weekend
