NTR and Ram Charan fans have always clashed, comparing their films due to the long-standing rivalry between the Nandamuri and Mega families. After RRR, this rivalry intensified among fans.

Mega fans trolled Devara heavily, but the film emerged as a box office success, grossing over ₹400 Cr. Now, NTR fans are trolling Game Changer, feeling that it won’t surpass Devara However, with positive word-of-mouth, Game Changer can outperform Devara in all territories.

Game Changer: From setbacks to success

Devara posted huge numbers in Andhra Pradesh, but Game Changer could surpass that due to the Sankranti season, where it’s the first choice for audiences. In Nizam, Devara’s share of ₹50 Cr+ can easily be matched by Game Changer. In Tamil Nadu and Kerala, Game Changer has the advantage, thanks to Shankar’s brand, which will also work in Karnataka.

NTR’s Devara 18 Days Telugu Worldwide Box-office Collections

While Devara had a strong start in Hindi, it’s struggling to reach ₹60 Cr nett, a target Game Changer can easily hit. In overseas markets, Devara started with over $5 million but will close at around $9 million, a number Game Changer can achieve with Telugu version and advantage of strong overseas tamil markets. Although Game Changer may not open as big as Devara, it has the potential to surpass it in the long run across all territories. However, with the arrival of Game Changer, producer Dil Raju is reportedly considering shifting the release to summer to avoid intense competition. Meanwhile, Thandel, which was planned for a Christmas or Sankranti release, is likely to be pushed to February as the team wants to ensure the post-production work is flawless.

Kanguva: The Danger of Overhyping

0

Sometimes overhyping the content of a film to extremes can damage a film massively after release. While it’s understandable that everyone promotes their film as a good one with great content, there’s a risk of it hitting back hard in case of failure. This is something many feel about Suriya’s upcoming pan-India biggie Kanguva directed by Siva.

For Kanguva, the team is hyping the film massively by saying it has visuals never before in Kollywood as well as Indian cinema. While this is a common statement made for every pan-India film, the unit is terming it a pan-world film that will be released in English and other international languages simultaneously.

In a recent interview, Kanguva producer said that they are expecting the film to make it to the 2000 Cr club. While it can be said he meant it on a lighter note, these comments may hit back after the release.

The producer further added that he will post the collections with GST bills and that the promotions will be very huge on a pan India level and it will have a release on 3500+ screens in north India. Such extreme statements may work out well for creating hype, but might backfire if the result turns out negative.

Nandamuri Balakrishna has been in top form lately, scoring continuous hits. On the other hand, Boyapati Sreenu has faced a major setback recently with Ram Pothineni’s Skanda: The Attacker (2023). Amidst this, a combination between the actor-director has been materialized.

As the title reads, a direct sequel to Akhanda (2021) has been in pre-production and is gearing up for a grand announcement tomorrow. Sources claim that this project will be on a huge scale with an aim to cater to audiences across languages.

Needless to say, this will be the fourth collaboration between Boyapati Sreenu and Balakrishna after Simha, Legend, and Akhanda. Ram and Gopi Achanta will fund this project under the banner ’14 Reels Plus’. Stay tuned for more such exciting updates.

Ticket hike: Naga Vamsi vs Suresh Babu

0

There has been a long debate on the issue of ticket hike for films. Many people wanted the prices of tickets to be at normal rates while some Producers demanded for ticket hikes which has been in execution since long time. Recently, Tollywood Producer, Suresh Babu criticised the plan of ticket hikes and supported the system of convenient ticket prices for audiences. While another Producer, Naga Vamsi felt that the ticket prices are still at low condition.

Naga Vamsi in an interview about recent blockbuster film, Devara opined that the current ticket prices are not so high according to him. He also questioned as to which arena would offer entertainment for a family for 3 hours in just around 1500 Rupees. These comments have gone viral now on social media platforms. Many netizens have trolled Naga Vamsi for considering 1500 Rupees as low amount.

On the other hand, Netizens are also backing Suresh Babu’s statement on ticket hikes which became a burden for middle class families. Suresh Babu also said that this method of hiked ticket prices would disturb the small and medium budgeted films’ prospects and would make people move away from theatres. He also felt that was the reason for these films to sustain only for the weekend and finish the run as soon as the weekend ends.

Devara: Record breaking run

0

Pan Indian films or high budgeted flicks in the recent times have been struggling to put numbers in their 2nd weekend. By finishing the 2nd weekend, most films would also finish their box office run. We managed to see only very few films breaking this phenomenon by extending their good run even in the 3rd weekend. Devara stands one among them with a record breaking run at the box office.

Devara even on its 18th day in the theatres has collected more than 1 crore share in Telugu version. This is very rare and surprising. Dussehra holidays have greatly helped Devara in the 3rd weekend as well. The film has collected good shares in all the territories. No deficits have been reported till now in any territory even in the 3rd week. The Telugu States share for 18 days is at 137 crores. The Worldwide Telugu version share would also be in the range of 187 crores.

The Worldwide gross for 18 days will be around 410 crores. Devara is also expected to add 15-20 more crores in its full run. This will be an amazing box office run for Devara then without a doubt.

Vettaiyan crashes on Monday

0

Superstar Rajinikanth’s most-anticipated film Vettaiyan received a strong opening weekend, grossing ₹185 crore worldwide. However, despite this promising start, the film witnessed a massive drop in collections on its first weekday. Early reports indicate that the global gross for Monday barely crossed single-digit crores, indicating a sharp fall in momentum.

The theatrical rights of Vettaiyan were valued at ₹325 crore, setting high expectations for its box office performance. However, after observing Monday’s drop, industry experts are skeptical about the film even reaching the ₹250 crore mark. Such a decline raises concerns, especially given the significant investments made in securing the film’s distribution rights.

In the Telugu market, the film received a moderate start, with distributors expected to incur losses of over 40%. With the completion of the weekend, the same scene is repeating at the Tamil box office also.

Despite Rajinikanth’s recent blockbuster success with Jailer, which captivated audiences, Vettaiyan has struggled to sustain interest beyond the weekend. Theater occupancy rates have plummeted after Sunday, with fewer viewers showing up for weekday screenings. As the film faces stiff competition and mixed reviews, it remains uncertain whether Vettaiyan will be able to recover from this significant drop and achieve long-term success at the box office.
