0

Hombale Films has created a massive success phenomenon with the release of Salaar: Part 1—Ceasefire. The film, featuring intense action and grandeur, introduced powerful characters like Deva, played by Prabhas, and Vardharaja, portrayed by Prithviraj Sukumaran. While Deva won the audience’s hearts, Vardharaja received equal adoration, making both characters standout favorites. To mark the occasion of Prithviraj’s birthday, Hombale Films took to social media to wish him and express their gratitude for his contribution to the success of Salaar.

The world of Khansaar, where the story unfolds, has captivated audiences globally. The film’s thrilling narrative and surprising conclusion have set the stage for its much-anticipated sequel, Salaar Part 2: Shouryanga Parvam. While the audience is eagerly awaiting the continuation, the production has faced delays due to director Prashanth Neel’s commitment to another project with NTR. This has led to rumors that the sequel might be shelved.

However, Hombale Films’ reference to Salaar 2 in their birthday post for Prithviraj has reassured fans and sparked excitement across social media platforms. As Prabhas’ birthday approaches, fans are eagerly anticipating updates from the Salaar team regarding the sequel. With the storyline set to conclude in Salaar 2, expectations are high for it to go on floors by late 2025 or early 2026, fueling even more excitement for the upcoming clash between Deva and Vardharaja.

Vettaiyan hits 200 crore mark

0

Vettaiyan starring Rajinikanth release recently and opened to an average response at the box office. On the 6th day of its release, Vettaiyan has officially hit 200 crore mark at the box office. It also posted more than 185 crores gross in the 1st weekend but saw a big drop on the week days. Vettaiyan requires a strong 2nd weekend to go close to 250 crores gross mark worldwide.

The film’s theatrical rights are valued at 325 crores. With this higher mark, it looks like Tamil Nadu and Overseas performance may not reach the target. Telugu version performance is also very bad due to the poor buzz and promotions. Vettaiyan’s telugu version contribued around 16 crores gross till now. Kerala’s contribution is also around 14 crores gross.

Tamil Nadu’s gross was expected to be 150 crores on the opening day but it didn’t happen. Overseas gross was anticipated to touch 100 crore for the weekend but it made only 65 crores gross. All these disappointments may make Vettaiyan a failure at the box office in the final run.

Sudheer Babu Dejected with Maa Nanna Super Hero

0

Sudheer Babu has been trying his luck at getting big success with different kinds of subjects. The actor has been putting in all the hard work but still did not get the deserving success. Some time ago, Sudheer Babu, who tried some commercial formulas admitted his mistake and declared that he would work on films with strong content. His previous release Harom Hara was one such movie and he believed that it would be a new phase of his career.

Harom Hara failed at the box office but it registered good viewership on OTT. The actor again announced that Maa Nanna Super Hero is another film with heart-touching emotions and strong content. He strongly believed this film would give him a big break. The early premiers also opened with a positive response. Unfortunately, this project also failed to make an impact in theatres and ran into deficits right after opening day.

The audience did not show any interest and the movie completely washed out at Box office. This hurt Sudheer Babu a lot and he is completely dejected with the result. He expected Maa Naana Superhero would be a big break for him but the audience showed no interest and the film opened to pretty poor reviews and terrible box office numbers.

Kanguva escapes the heavy rains

0

The much-anticipated film Kanguva,  starring Suriya, had initially planned for a Diwali release, but heavy competition and external factors forced the team to push the release to mid-November. While the decision may have initially been seen as a setback, it has since turned into an unexpected boon. One of the primary reasons for the shift was to avoid clashes with other big films during the festive season, allowing  Kanguva to secure a more favorable box office window.

Another advantage of the delay is that the ongoing heavy rains across South India would have hindered box office performance during its original Diwali release. Major states like Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Kerala have been affected by these rains, which could have reduced audience turnout. Since Kanguva is a grand spectacle that requires not only a strong opening weekend but also sustained weekday success, this unexpected delay has worked in the film’s favor.

With more time in hand, the team is now focusing on creating a stronger promotional push. Interviews in Tamil have already started, and from tomorrow, the Hindi promotional campaign will begin. The Telugu promotions are also expected to be extensive. The film’s producer has promised to invest heavily in marketing, ensuring maximum visibility for the film across all languages. This strategic postponement, initially seen as a challenge, has now allowed Kanguva to build stronger momentum, setting the stage for a successful mid-November release.

Sharwanand’s upcoming film, tentatively titled Sharwa38, is set to be a pulsating period action drama that takes place in the late 1960s on the Telangana-Maharashtra border, a setting rarely explored in Indian cinema. Directed by Sampath Nandi, the film is steeped in a world ruled by fear, where bloodshed is often the solution to conflicts, offering a gritty exploration of violence and survival in a rural landscape.

The Sharwa38 team recently commenced their journey with a traditional Bhoomi Pooja, marking the beginning of an ambitious project. Art Director Kiran Kumar Manne is meticulously crafting a massive set across 15 acres near Hyderabad. This sprawling set is designed to authentically recreate the atmosphere, culture, and architecture of the North Telangana- Maharashtra border during the 1960s, promising a vivid cinematic experience. The film is being produced under the Sri Sathya Sai Arts banner by KK Radhamohan, with Lakshmi Radhamohan presenting.

The technical crew includes prominent talents such as DOP Soundar Rajan S and music composer Bheems Ceciroleo, known for their contributions to high-octane action films. Given the scale and authenticity of the production, Sharwa38 is expected to resonate with audiences across India, releasing in multiple languages including Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi. Sharwanand’s gritty character is set to take center stage in this action-packed drama, positioning Sharwa38 as one of the most anticipated period dramas in recent times.

The director has stood on his promise and Akhanda 2 was launched in a grand way earlier today.

Several artists from part 1 will be part of part 2 as well with Pragya Jaiswal co-starring opposite Balayya. Balayya and Boyapati have scored a hat-trick of hits with Simha, Legend, and Akhanda. It is no exaggeration to say that no other director has shown Balakrishna the way Boyapati has managed and fans are expecting something special this time as well.

Personally, Balayya is on a career-high with hat tricks through Bhagavanth Kesari, Veera Simha Reddy, and Akhanda. Adding his political win as the third-time MLA of Hindupur, the recent times have been amazing for the veteran actor and Akhanda 2 couldn’t have come at a better time for Balayya.

Dil Raju’s Move: Don’t Upset Chiranjeevi

0

The highly anticipated clash between major Telugu films is heating up as the Sankranti season approaches. Chiranjeevi’s upcoming film, Vishwambhara, directed by Vassistha, was initially slated for a Sankranti release. However, with Ram Charan’s Game Changer, directed by Shankar and produced by Dil Raj, taking precedence, Vishwambhara was postponed, with Dil Raj and UV Creations officially stating that this decision was made to accommodate Game Changer.

Despite Vishwambhara needing more post-production time, it is rumored that Chiranjeevi and his team may have pushed harder for a Sankranti release if Game Changer wasn’t in the picture. This shows the strong ties between UV Creations, Ram Charan, and the decisions made to favor Game Changer. With this in mind, the Sankranti slot is being given to the much-anticipated Ram Charan film.

Adding to this dynamic, Venkatesh and Anil Ravipudi’s untitled project, with the working title Sankrantiki Vastunnam, was also aiming for a Sankranti release. However, Mega Star Chiranjeevi could get hurt if Venkatesh’s film is brought in as competition for Game Changer. To avoid this, Dil Raj reportedly wants to postpone Venkatesh’s film to a summer release. This decision is expected to prevent a potential clash as this could affect the box office performance . The shifting of release dates highlights the strategic planning involved in securing favorable slots during major festival seasons.

Viswam Upsets the Big Three

0

Gopichand, director Sreenu Vaitla, and People’s Media pinned high hopes on their latest release, Viswam, expecting it to mark a significant comeback for all three. However, the film, which hit theaters on October 11, 2024, has had a disastrous run at the box office, failing to even collect a 5 crore share worldwide in its first five days. The film’s underperformance, despite receiving slightly better word of mouth compared to Sreenu Vaitla’s recent projects, has left industry insiders disappointed.

Gopichand, who has been struggling to regain his footing after a series of failures, needed Viswam to perform well to bounce back. His last few films, including Bhima, Ramabanam and Seetimaarr, also faced similar fates, leaving fans and the star himself in dire need of a hit. For Sreenu Vaitla, Viswam was another attempt to revive his directorial career after a string of box office duds like Amar Akbar Anthony and Mister.

Unfortunately, Viswam lacked the hype necessary for a strong opening. Adding to its woes, the film had to compete with the much-anticipated Devara and Vettaiyan, both of which dominated audience preferences, pushing Viswam to the third spot in terms of viewership. The combination of stiff competition and a lackluster promotional campaign ultimately contributed to its failure, signaling another setback for the Gopichand-Sreenu Vaitla duo.

Vijay’s unbeatable consistency

0

Kollywood Actor Vijay delivered sensational blockbusters at the box office in the recent past years proving his top position in Kollywood. He is currently the No 1 star there without a doubt. He began producing blockbuster films from Mersal to recently released The GOAT. All the films in between them have had posted solid numbers irrepective of their talk. This shows Vijay’s unbeatable consistency like anything.

Other stars of Kollywood have been continuously failed in repeating this phenomenon. Rajinikanth till Kabali had ruled Kollywood but things changed after Kabali’s release. He saw back to back setbacks with films Kaala, 2.0 which did okayish at Tamil box office, Petta did well but Darbar and Annatthe couldn’t keep up the consistency again. Jailer which released last year became a big blockbuster and again he witnessed a great debacle with Lal Saalam. Vettaiyan which released recently has only done half of The GOAT’s numbers till now.

This happened with Another star, Kamal Haasan as well. He had continuous flops till Vikram. Vikram managed to become a big blockbuster but this was spoiled by Indian 2 which became miserable failure at the box office. Ajith, on the other hand, is no match to Vijay in terms of box office figures since long time. He is yet to score a proper 250 crores grosser whereas Vijay pulled this off nearly with Mersal itself.

Suriya has been in bad form for years. He put all his hopes on Kanguva which is yet to release. So, all these make Vijay the Numero Uno Star with unmatchable consistency.

Anirudh’s judgement failed

0

Music Director, Anirudh Ravichander started a unique trend of posting about result of films he works for before the release through a tweet. He started this trend with Jailer starring Rajinikanth and then continued with Leo, Jawan and for Devara recently as well. All these four films have emerged blocksbusters at the box office making Anirudh’s prophecy come true. But Anirudh’s judgement has failed with Vettaiyan which released recently.

Anirudh, as part of his habit, came up with winning gestured tweet for Vettaiyan before its release. Many felt that Vettaiyan would also become a blockbuster in line with his past tweets. But Vettaiyan secured an okayish talk and ended up below average at the box office for the first weekend. The film is also heading towards a big box office failure. Vettaiyan has also completely crashed on Monday not showing signs of any recover for the rest of the weekdays. This has become an embarrassment for Anirudh.

We have to see if he would consider posting these prophecy tweets about film’s results for his further films. He may also stop doing this due to Vettaiyan’s miserable performance at the box office.
