Pradeep Ranganathan Faces Awkward Question from Telugu Journalist

0

During the promotional event of his upcoming film Dude in the Telugu states, Tamil actor Pradeep Ranganathan was asked an uncomfortable question by a Telugu journalist, which quickly stirred debate across social media.

The journalist began with a dismissive remark, saying, “Please don’t take it otherwise, but you don’t look like a film hero. You’ve achieved so much success with just two films; is this your luck?”

Veteran actor Sarath Kumar, who was present at the Dude promotional event alongside Pradeep, stepped in to respond. He stated that such questions are inappropriate and emphasized that there is no fixed standard for what a hero should look like. He added that anyone whose actions benefit society can be considered a hero.

Pradeep Ranganathan also replied gracefully, saying that apart from talent, he believes divine grace has played a role in his success. He mentioned that audiences might see themselves in his characters, which makes his films more relatable.

Social media users strongly criticized the journalist for the insensitive question, arguing that public acceptance is the only true measure of a hero. Many pointed to Pradeep’s success with Love Today and Dragon, both of which performed well at the box office. His growing popularity and the offers from major production houses are proof that audiences connect with him, regardless of conventional looks or industry norms.

Dil Raju Eyes Collaboration with Sukumar

Producer Dil Raju introduced director Sukumar to the Telugu film industry with Arya. Sukumar’s second film, Jagadam, was also initially planned under the same collaboration, but due to creative differences, it ended up with a different producer.

After that, for many reasons, the Arya director and producer combo did not repeat, and the latest/exciting buzz is that Dil Raju is planning to do a film with Sukumar now.

With the Pushpa series, Sukumar has become a pan-India director, and from Rangasthalam, Sukumar has continuously been doing films with Mythri Movie Makers. His next film with Ram Charan has already been signed under the Mythri banner.

Dil Raju plans a film with Sukumar, but the director’s lineup is packed

The film is set to begin production in early 2026, and following this project, Dil Raju has plans to collaborate with Sukumar on another film.

Sukumar and Allu Arjun have already announced Pushpa 3, and if that film materializes after Ram Charan’s project, then again it will be under the Mythri banner only. We need to see whether the director can allot dates for Dil Raju going forward.

This film definitely will create a lot of buzz. Dhanush and Mari Selvaraj worked earlier for Karnan, which was a sensational blockbuster, and they are joining hands for the second time now.

The pre-production works will start next month, and the film’s principal shoot will start in early 2026.

Box Office Shock: Big Films, No Profits

0

Before the COVID-19 pandemic, big-budget films were seen as high-risk but also high-reward ventures. Many of these movies ran in theaters for nearly 50 days, attracting all kinds of audiences generating massive collections.

However, after the pandemic, the theatrical run of big films has noticeably declined, and their box office performance has become unpredictable.

In 2025, several high-profile Telugu films like Game Changer, Hari Hara Veera Mallu, and War 2 were released with huge expectations and business deals, but they ended up as major failures, causing heavy losses for distributors and buyers.

Telugu Big-Budget Films’ Impact Changed after COVID-1 Pandemic

Even other big films such as Daaku Maharaaj, Coolie, OG, and Kantara Chapter 1 managed only to reach near the break-even figures, without delivering significant profits.

Interestingly, films with medium budgets are showing mixed results as some of them are profitable, while others face losses. But when it comes to big-budget films, the trend after COVID shows that they are more likely to result in losses than profits, making them a risky bet for the industry

The Pawan-Harish combination is back again with Ustaad Bhagat Singh, and this film is also said to be planned to be released in the second week of May 2026, thereby continuing the Gabbar Singh sentiment.

Ustaad Bhagat Singh set for May 2026 Release

Crucial 2nd Weekend for Kantara Chapter 1 in Overseas

0

Rishab Shetty’s Kantara Chapter 1 performs exceptionally well at the box office in its first week and lives up to the expectations of trade, but it now enters the crucial 2nd weekend overseas, where the break-even value is set on a high mark.

The spiritual action drama carries huge risk overseas, as the film’s break-even is valued at $15M, including expenses, and it has to collect $16M to put distributors in a safe zone.

Kantara Overseas Box Office: Still a long way to go

But the film has recovered only 50% of valued business until now with around $8M in gross collections. That is why the 2nd weekend became important for Kantara Chapter 1 overseas business.

The film needs a massive jump in the collections to at least go near the 80% recovery for buyers, and even in India the film needs a solid weekend to get the expected collections at the box office.

NTR’s Dragon Postponed Again

0

Fans were thrilled when the announcement of a major film featuring the collaboration of NTR and Prashant Neel was made. However, the film is facing continuous delays to get going, and the latest news is that NTR’s Dragon is postponed again.

NTR-Neel team’s initial plan was to complete the entire shoot by August/September 2025 and to release the film on Sankranthi 2026. However, due to a delay in starting the shoot and several other reasons, the release date was shifted to June 25, 2026.

However, the shoot is still progressing slower than expected, and Tarak’s recent injury has further delayed it. Producer Ravi Shankar confirmed that the new schedule will start at the end of this month and will continue uninterrupted until next summer.

NTR-Neel’s Dragon Faces Multiple Delays

As the shoot itself is going till summer, the film requires a lot of time for post-production work, so there is no chance for a June-end release. The film is likely to move towards the end of 2026.

The fans will certainly be disappointed as NTR’s Dragon’s release gets delayed again, but they also will want a quality film to arrive in theaters to enjoy heartily.

Mythri Movies vs Kiran Abbavaram – What Really Happened

0

Young Telugu actor Kiran Abbavaram recently made headlines with his comments about the lack of theatre space for Telugu films in Tamil Nadu. Mythri Movies’ Ravi Shankar responds to the actor’ comments now.

In a promotional interview for his upcoming movie K-Ramp, which is set to release on October 18th, Kiran Abbavaram said that Telugu audiences support films from all languages, but Tamil Nadu doesn’t offer the same support to Telugu movies. His remarks quickly went viral, sparking discussions across social media.

Producer Ravi Shankar from Mythri Movies responded indirectly during a promotional event for Pradeep Ranganathan’s film Dude. Without naming Kiran or K-Ramp, Ravi said, “Focus on creating strong content and releasing it in other languages because that’s what truly matters. Don’t complain about the number of theaters or blame others. If another film becomes a blockbuster, we’re more than willing to share our theaters too.”

This statement has divided online users. Some support Kiran Abbavaram, agreeing that Telugu films like Devara, Pushpa, Game Changer, Kingdom, and OG didn’t receive enough encouragement from Tamil audiences.

Others argue that even big Tamil stars like Rajinikanth and Vijay face struggles if their films don’t get good reviews or buzz. They believe it will take time for young Telugu actors like Kiran to build a strong market in Tamil Nadu.
