It is widely known that the re-release trend has been a successful one for Telugu cinema. Chenna Keshava Reddy was one of the old movies which were released again. Now, Balakrishna’s Lakshmi Narasimha re-release is set for June 7th. 

Balayya’s Chenna Keshava Reddy was one of the initial films in the re-release trend, and the fans celebrated it with a few special shows. However, the re-release of Samara Simha Reddy did not work well, and the same can be said about Narasimha Naidu.

All eyes are now on Balakrishna’s Lakshmi Narasimha Re-release is set for June 7th. The film was one of the best commercial films in the career of NBK, and it has a good chance to work massively at the theaters.

The action entertainer is getting released next weekend, and only one dubbed film, i.e., Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam’s Thug Life, will be in theaters. So Balayya’s movie will have a good screen count for its re-release.

Karnataka Film Chamber bans Thug Life

Kollywood Veteran Actor Kamal Haasan and his upcoming film, Thug Life, are surrounded by a big controversy. The Actor made news recently by stating that the Kannada language originated from Tamil in the Audio Launch event of Thug Life. This had hurt the feelings of people of Karnataka, who demanded an apology, to which Kamal Haasan refused.

Netizens also started a trend on X/Twitter to ban Thug Life in Karnataka unless Kamal Haasan apologizes. But Kamal Haasan took this light and opined that he wouldn’t apologize for what he said, which took the issue further. The Karnataka Film Chamber has officially banned Thug Life in Karnataka now. It is also learnt that all the films of Kamal Haasan will be banned until further notice.

This is surely unwarranted, and Kamal Haasan should have avoided the controversy in the first place. The team of Thug Life is also silent regarding the matter, and the film is slated for release on June 5th worldwide. We need to see if Kamal Haasan tenders the apology and puts the issue to rest.

Bellamkonda Sreenivas came up with a new action drama, Bhairavam, this Friday. The film is not a solo lead hero film, as Manchu Manoj and Nara Rohith also play the lead roles alongside him. But Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas shows an unexpected dominance in Bhairavam.

Both Manoj and Nara Rohith have good screen presence in the film, and them being seniors to Sreenu, the Alludu Seenu actor, clearly dominated them. Especially in the challenging episodes of Interval and Climax, where he gets divine trance, Sreenivas acted very well.

Since then, Akkineni fans have been waiting for their wedding. Akhil and Zainab’s wedding is scheduled to take place on June 6. However, an official announcement on the same is yet to be made. Just like Naga Chaitanya’s wedding, Akhil’s wedding will also be held at Annapurna Studios. It is learned that a grand reception has been planned in Rajasthan, and the work on Akhil’s wedding ceremony has already begun.

About Akhil’s Next Film – Lenin

Akhil is currently acting in a film titled Lenin. Murali Kishore Abburu, who impressed audiences with ‘Vinaro Bhagyamu Vishnu Katha,’ is the director of the film, and Sree Leela plays the female lead in this film. 

The film is being made as a proper mass movie, and it is set against the backdrop of Rayalaseema. The posters and glimpses from the movie have already impressed the fans. Lenin will be released in theaters in this year’s last quarter.

Tamil Nadu Govt eases movie tax burden

In a big relief to Kollywood, the Tamil Nadu Government has reportedly reduced Local Body Entertainment Tax (LBET) from 8 to 4%. This is really a good move for the Film Industry, which has also requested this for many years.

This move will also help many small budgeted films apart from the biggies. Kollywood Veteran Actor Kamal Haasan has recently appealed for the reduction in the tax. And now, Film Employees Federation of South India (FEFSI) thanked and expressed their gratitude to MK Stalin, CM of Tamil Nadu.

As said, this move is aimed at increasing footfall in theatres and reducing the pressure that producers and exhibitors have been facing. Before, Dasari Garu and Chiranjeevi Garu also tried to resolve this issue, but it did not happen. What’s the need to increase ticket prices for big movies? Even before also, industry made big movies, but the ticket prices were not increased.

There has been a dispute over percentages recently. The decision to shut down from June 1 is not connected with Hari Hara Veera Mallu. If the percentage system is finalized, it will be of great benefit to producers like me. 

Who will conspire against Pawan Kalyan? The announcement from Pawan Kalyan’s office is not justified. The respect for Pawan would have increased even more if he had invited the Telugu industry people to discuss the issues in the film industry and not talk about his film.

There is nothing wrong with saying that industry bigwigs should meet CM Chandrababu. We are your children. Don’t sidestep the main issue, and do not support the corporate system. Think about what will happen to single-screen theaters. Single theaters are like temples,” said Narayana Murthy.
