Pushpa 2: Early Premiers confirmed

Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2 is one of the most anticipated films in Indian cinema. This pan-India project is set for release on 5th December. As per the latest reports, the team is going with early premiers on the 4th of December night just like Baahubali 2. This has been informed to the distributors as well.

Looking at the buzz and hype for the movie, Pushpa 2 is all set to open with a record start. A 250 Cr opening is a sure shot it may even go bigger than that figure. At present RRR holds the record opening figures in Indian cinema and Pushpa 2 is definitely breaking this by a good margin

The team recently updated that the entire work for 1st half is completed and locked and now the movie is in the final portions of the shooting. The third single from the film is expected to be out this month. With Game Changer pushed to Sankranti, this Allu Arjun- Sukumar film will have a free run fo entire December and now everything depends on the film’s talk.

Kanguva runtime locked

Kanguva starring Suriya is directed by Siva. The film is also one of the most awaited films of Kollywood. It was originally scheduled for release on Dussehra but now got postponed to 14th Novermber worldwide. Kanguva’s total runtime is also locked by the makers and team.

Kanguva’s runtime is said to be around 2 hours and 26 minutes. Of this, 2 hours will be focussing on historical episodes mostly shown in the teaser and trailer of the film. And the rest of the 26 minutes will deal with the present portions. The film is also said to feature Suriya in a never before seen Avatar. Modern day portions of the film are said to be funny and the historical portions will obviously be fiery.

Fans and Audience have been waiting eagerly for the film’s release. Kanguva is also said to be releasing in many world languages simultaneously. Producer of the film, K.E. Gnanvel Raja has confirmed about this recently in a Twitter space conversation.

Devara is rocking the box office with its third weekend of performance finishing yesterday. The film is also reported to have grossed more than 400 crores worldwide. Fans and Audience are very much thrilled with the performance of Devara. Now, Devara’s OTT streaming date is out and let’s check the details below.

Devara’s all language OTT rights have been bought by leading OTT Giant, Netflix. Devara is said to be arriving on Netflix in November’s third weekend mostly on 22nd November. The OTT performance must also be big in order to create big craze ahead of the Devara 2’s release. The makers and NTR are very much satisfied with the performance of Devara. They have also released a poster claiming 500 crores worldwide.

Devara’s Hindi performance is also a booster for the makers. The film has grossed more than 70 crores in Hindi version worldwide making it a decent run there.

AI Takes Over Star Dubbing

Devara starring NTR had a phenomenal run at the box office. The film even with an average word of mouth managed to attract the audience and fans. The film also had a very good 3rd weekend in Telugu States with advantage of Dussehra holidays. Devara’s 17 days worldwide collections are as below:

Devara made around 17 crores gross in the third weekend worldwide taking the total worldwide gross to 407 crores. The film, however crashed completely in the Hindi market making less than 2 crores Nett in the third weekend. Devara initially had a good start at the Hindi market in the first weekend. But it lost momentum later.

Devara is expected to close around 420 crores worldwide. The film has already become a clean hit with Telugu version performing extraordinarily well. Tamil and Malayalam versions performance was disappointing. The makers have interestingly released a poster claiming that the film had grossed more than 500 crores worldwide. So, we have to see what the final number is for Devara.

This Year’s Diwali season is packed with multiple film releases. Tollywood Actor Kiran Abbavaram’s KA, Satyadev’s Zebra are slated for release on 31st October. Other than these, dubbed films, Amaran starring Siva Karthikeyan, Bagheera starring Kannad Actor Sri Murali and Lucky Bhaskar starring Dulquer Salmaan are also preparing to release on 31st October.

With this, a total of 5 films are eyeing the Diwali box office. Suriya starrer Kanguva was also speculated to arrive for Diwali but was postponed to 14th November now. Another film, Vidaamuyarchi starring Ajith was also scheduled for Diwali but got postponed for unknown reasons. Diwali season will lie vacant without the presence of a big budgeted film now.

So, let’s wait and see which films takes an upper hand this Diwali season. Kiran Abbaravam is hoping to bounce back hard with his KA. The film’s song has already been released recently.

Kanguva Producer trolls Vettaiyan

Kanguva starring Suriya is slated for release on 14th November worldwide. Producer of the film, K.E. Gnanavel Raja attended a Twitter space conversation yesterday. He answered many questions regarding the film as well. During the conversation, the Producer has indirectly trolled Vettaiyan to everyone’s surprise.

Gnanavel Raja was asked a question as to why the cast and crew of Kanguva were not completely revealed on official handles. To this, the Producer replied, “One film revealed all the big stars with their entry in the official handle. But did it help their opening?” These comments were taken as a counter to Vettaiyan which released recently. Vettaiyan consisted of few reputed Actors from other film Industries, Amitabh Bachchan, Rana Daggubati and Fahadh Faasil.

Vettaiyan had just a decent opening despite having a big star cast. The Producer has mentioned the same as well. But the actual reason behind these comments would be Gnanavel Raja’s anger on Vettaiyan disturbing the planned release schedule of Kanguva. Kanguva was originally slated to release during this Dussehra but was later postponed to November 14th because of Vettaiyan deciding to release in the same season.

Dasara Box Office: Devara Tops, New Releases Struggle

Dasara is an extremely fruitful season for new releases with families willing to go to theatres in search of good 3 hours of entertainment. However, this Dasara has turned out to be quite ineffective for all new releases.

We saw films like Viswam, Vettaiyan, Maa Naana Superhero, Janaka Aithe Ganaka and Martin hitting the screens this festive season. None of these films managed to set the box-office on fire while Devara which is in its 3rd week managed to attract the maximum audience.

Devara collected more than 8 Cr share in Telugu states on the 3rd weekend while Vettaiyan collected around 6.5 Cr share in Telugu states for 4 days weekend. Viswam saw a collection of around 3 Cr share while Maa Naana Superhero was a complete washout.

Martin also did not put any respectable numbers while Janaka Aithe Ganaka failed to make good numbers and collected around 1 Cr share worldwide. All new releases failed to capitalise on the festive season while Devara reigned supreme despite being in its 3rd week.

Rajinikanth’s latest film, Vettaiyan has decent opening weekend at Box office. Within four days of its release, the film grossed more than Rs 120 crore in India. Vettaiyan is an investigative drama centered on a gripping crime story and the never-ending hunt for justice. The film stars Rajinikanth in the lead role and has a great supporting cast that adds to the drama. The film breakeven value is at 325 Cr worldwide.

The film collected Rs 38 crore on its first day, Rs 28 crore on day two, Rs 32 crore on day three, and around Rs 25 crore on day four in India. With this, the film’s total India box office collection on its first Sunday surpassed Rs 123 crores. The film’s total worldwide gross surpassed Rs 185 crores, showcasing Rajani movies’ potential once more. The movie took in roughly $7.5 million internationally on weekend, disappointing perfomance in all overseas territories

The film needs to hold strong on week days to achieve breakeven status. Worldwide recovery for 1st weekend is 57%. The advances for today is poor, Need strong walk-ins for good day at Box office.
