Massive plans for Major teaser launch

Adivi Sesh’s Major has created quite a lot of buzz ever since it was announced. The movie, based on the sacrifices and valour of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan is being shot in Telugu and Hindi simultaneously. Directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka, this movie is scheduled for a release on 2nd July. Major teaser will be launched on 12th April at 4:05 PM

The makers of the movie have laid out elaborate plans for the teaser launch. Telugu teaser will be launched by Superstar Mahesh Babu while the Hindi teaser will be launched by Salman Khan. Prithviraj Sukumaran will be launching the Malayalam version of the teaser.

According to the reports the movie is high on technical brilliance and the visuals and the action sequences will be highlights of the movie. Major is produced by Sony Pictures Releasing International, G Mahesh Babu Entertainment, and A+S Movies. Earlier on Saturday, Adivi Sesh on Twitter posted that the movie’s teaser is going to be “massive“.

Troubles ahead for Acharya and Viraata Parvam?

Chiranjeevi starrer Acharya and Rana’s Virata Parvam have come under the scanner for their content. The movies which are set to release soon have attracted criticism for glorifying naxalism in them. Post the recent attacks on CRPF personnel in Chattisgarh, which saw 22 jawans martyred, these movies have come under quite a lot of scrutiny for their plot.

Virata Parvam starts Rana in the role of a naxalite. Similarly, Acharya has both Megastar Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan donning the naxal gear. This depiction has come under question from the Anti Terrorism Organisation. The organization has questioned the intent of the films. Additionally, it has also requested the CBFC to not issue certification to these films in a detailed letter.

While these movies are indeed releasing right after the dastardly naxal attack, it remains to be seen if the authorities take any cognisance and act on the complaints.

Chiru, Naga Babu give thumbs up to Vakeel Saab

Vakeel Saab hit the screens finally on 9th April to positive reports and great occupancy. Despite the ongoing Covid wave fans celebrated this Power Star release in style. The movie got off to a great opening in all sections and is set for much more in the days to come.

Pawan Kalyan’s performance along with his duels with Prakash Raj in courtroom has been well appreciated. Another aspect appreciated by many is how director Venu Sriram balanced the commercial elements with the inherent message of the movie.

Mega Star Chiranjeevi caught the action of Vakeel Saab along with family on Friday and wrote an ecstatic post appreciating the movie. He termed brother Pawan’s performance as “terrific” and called the movie a “riveting courtroom drama”


Nagababu was also all praise for the movie and took to Twitter to applaud the movie. He termed the movie as a feast of a lifetime that fulfilled the longing of 3 years.

Covid is back to haunt film industries

Over the last couple of days, two films- Love Story and Thalaivi made official announcements that their release dates are now pushed. Love Story was scheduled for 16th April release while Kangana Ranaut’s Thalaivi was set to release on 23rd April. Now, both these movies are staring at an uncertain future due to the 2nd wave of Corona. This is the situation across various film industries.

It is also being speculated that Chiranjeevi’s Acharya and Allu Arjun’s Pushpa will be moving their release dates much further. Speculations are rife that Acharya might be moved to August. Pushpa, set for an August release might take the year-end slot or even go for a Summer 2022 release.

Even Bollywood has seen disruptions in shoot schedules and release dates. The latest victim of this is Salman Khan’s much-awaited Radhe. The action thriller was supposed to release during this Eid in May, but with rising cases, Salman is even thinking of next year’s Eid. He has made it clear that he doesn’t want a rushed release and wants the situation to settle down. Similarly, Rohit Shetty’s Suryavanshi starring Akshay Kumar is also awaiting a release for the past year with Covid once again pushing its release.

In Kollywood as well, Rajinikanth’s Annaatthe saw multiple shoot delays due to Covid and is now finally back on track. However, looking at the current situation, this might get pushed as well.

Pushpa teaser amasses 1 million likes

Allu Arjun starrer Pushpa is one of the most anticipated movies of the year. Ever since it was announced that Sukumar and Allu Arjun are going to collaborate yet again, expectations have skyrocketed from all quarters. The recently released Pushpa teaser has matched these expectations and has been well received by all. The teaser has packed some beautiful visuals, action sequences, and background score and turned out to be great success.

With such an output, it’s no surprise that that teaser is inching towards 35 million views in just 2 days of its release. What’s even more surprising is that the Pushpa teaser has hit 1 million likes on YouTube. This is a rare feat, especially for a teaser.

Adivi Sesh’s promise, “It will be massive”

Acto Adivi Sesh, who is gearing up for the release of his next film Major took to Twitter to make an announcement on Saturday. The young actor announcing the Teaser update of his movie said, “It will be massive, I promise”. The teaser is all set to release on 12th April at 4:05 PM.

The expectations of the movie have been set quite high ever since this biopic of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan was announced. Major Sandeep laid down his life while trying to rescue hostages in the 26/11 Mumbai attacks. Major also stars Sbhita Dhulipalla in a key role. Earlier, her first look was introduced through a poster.

Major is directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka and produced by Sony Pictures Releasing International, G Mahesh Babu Entertainment and A+S Movies. The movie is shot simultaneously in Telugu and Hindi

Adivi Sesh, meanwhile is getting ready for some exciting projects post Major. He will be next seen in HIT 2: The Second Case. He will be replacing Vishwak Sen who played the lead in the first instalment of the movie. A sequel of Sesh’s 2018 hit Goodachari is also on the cards next.

Corona postpones another film’s release

The much anticipated multilingual film Thalaivi which was supposed to be released on 24th April has become the latest victim Corona 2nd wave. A joint announcement was made regarding the same by the makers- Vishnu Induri, Shailendra Singh, and Zee Studios. The film’s release has been postponed indefinitely and a new date will be soon announced.

This biopic on 6 times Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Late J. Jayalalithaa was being made in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi. Starring Kangana Ranaut, Thalaivi is directed by AL Vijay. The biopic is produced by Vibri Media in collaboration with Karma Media And Entertainment.

The makers have not announced any new release date. “We are confident that we will receive as much love from you then as well,” said the statement issued. The movie also stars Aravind Swamy as MGR along with Prakash Raj and Bhagyashree in key roles. The trailer of the movie was launched recently to a positive response.

Thalaivi becomes the second movie in two days to postpone its release. Earlier on Thursday, the makers of Love Story held a press conference announcing the postponement of their movie’s release indefinitely.

Rajinikanth in Hyderabad for ‘Annaatthe’

Super Star Rajinikanth is in Hyderabad and has resumed shooting for his upcoming film Annaatthe. The action drama directed by Siruthai Siva also stars Nayanthara, Meena, and Keerthy Suresh in key roles. The Super Star who recently was awarded the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award has been away from shooting due to recent ill- health. He was recently seen casting his vote for the recently conclude Tamil Nadu assembly elections.

It was during this film that Rajinikanth had to be hospitalized earlier due to blood pressure fluctuations. The movie shoot was stalled for a while as 4 members of the crew had tested Covid positive. Annaatthe’s 60% of shoot has been completed and will release towards the year-end. Recently Jagapathy Babu joined the shoot and few crucial sequences were shot on him.

Annaatthe is produced by Kalanithi Maran under the banner of Sun Pictures. The music is composed by D Imman who recently won the National Award for best music director.

Pawan Kalyan’s Vakeel Saab has released worldwide today amidst positive reports and fan celebrations. The movie also stars Shruti Haasan, Nivetha Thomas, Anjali, and Ananya Nagalla in key roles. The initial reactions across the territories from the movie are quite encouraging. Positive talk here means that the movie is all set for great openings world over.

The movie is expected to do a solid business on the opening day owing to Pawan Kalyan’s comeback and great initial reports. It is expected to rake in a minimum of Rs 32 crores + share worldwide on the opening day. This would make the film the biggest opener in Indian cinema ever since theatres opened post lockdown. This courtroom drama would have had a greater opening by 2-3 crores more had the premiere shows in AP gone as per plans.
