Akhanda team gearing up for Balakrishna’s birthday

Every actor’s birthday is a special occasion for not just the actor himself but for the fans as well. The day is usually marked with celebrations and numerous events. However, it is the update on the actor’s ongoing film which makes the day even more special. Fans are now expecting a similar thing on Balakrishna’s birthday which falls on June 10th.

Last year on Balakrishna’s birthday the makers’ released a teaser titled BB3 first roar which impressed all with its rustic and massy vibe. This year the makers are planning a special single to mark the occasion.

Akhanda, which is being directed by Boyapati Srinu has garnered immense craze right from the day it was announced. The recently released teaser took the hype to another level where Balakrishna’s roaring screen presence and SS Thaman’s background music stood out.

The movie is the third one in Balakrishna and Boyapati combination after the hugely successful Simha and Legend. Akhanda will also star Pragya Jaiswal in the lead role. Dwaraka Entertainments banner will be bankrolling this fantasy action drama. The movie was originally scheduled for a May 28 release but Covid played a spoilsport delaying major portions of filming.

Acharya single starring Ram Charan to be out next

Mega Power Star Ram Charan is busy with two big-ticket movies Acharya and RRR. The shoot of Acharya has run into multiple troubles due to the Covid second wave and has been postponed for now.

The movie is now looking to release in the August to October slot depending on the completion of Charan’s portion. Director Koaratala Siva in a recent interview revealed that a song featuring Ram Charan and Pooja Hegde will be out next. This song will be a romantic number featuring the couple.

The unit of Acharya had recently announced that the release of the film is postponed for now. The announcement stated that a new date would be announced soon. The film was scheduled to release on May 13th. However, some portions to be filmed on Ram Charan are still in the balance. Although Charans’ role would be comparatively smaller in Acharya, his scenes are crucial to the story.

Directed by Koratala Siva, the movie is being jointly produced by Charan himself under the Konidela Production Company banner. The movie also stars Kajal Agarwal and in the lead role. Massive sets were erected in Marredumilli, Yellanadu, and Singareni Coal mines for some key scenes. This will be Chiranjeevi’s fourth on-screen collaboration with Charan after Magadheera, Bruce Lee, Khaidi no.150.

Fans of Super Star Mahesh Babu are eagerly waiting for a surprise on May 31st. The date is quite monumental for both Mahesh as well as his fans as it happens to be the birthday of his father Super Star Krishna.

For the last many years Mahesh has been making some announcement or giving out some update or the other to mark Super Star Krishna’s birthday. Fans are hoping this year is no different from previous years and that they will get a glimpse or any update on Sarkaru Vaari Paata.

This year Sarkaru Vaari Paata makers will be revealing the first look of the action thriller. After the announcement poster that released earlier, fans are eager to see Mahesh’s new look from the movie.

Last year on May 31st, On the occasion of Super Star Krishna’s birthday, Mahesh Babu announced Sarkaru Vaari Paata. The team launched a pre-look and announced the main crew. The pre-look has been received well with Mahesh sporting long hair, a tattoo, and an earring.

It was also rumoured that Mahesh- Trivikram movie SSMB28’s title reveal would also happen on the same date. However, that looks unlikely now.

Directed by Parasuram Petla, Sarkaru Vaari Paata stars Keerthy Suresh in the lead role opposite Mahesh Babuu. The music is being scored by SS Thaman. Mythri Movie Makers banner along with GMB Entertainments and 14 Reels are producing this action thriller.

Sonu Sood to come up with Oxygen plants in AP

Sonu Sood is marching on with both his professional as well as philanthropic commitments simultaneously. The actor earlier today announced that he will be setting up Oxygen plants in Kurnool.

“Very happy to announce that the first set of my Oxygen Plants will be set up at Kurnool Government Hospital & one at District Hospital, Atmakur,Nellore, AP in the month of June!This would be followed by setting more plants in the other needy states! Time to support rural India,” he tweeted.

Ever since the pandemic stuck, Sonu Sood has been busy with a number of charitable activities. Earlier last year he arranged a bus back home for the migrant workers stuck in Mumbai. He also has been actively arranging hospital beds and oxygen for the needy in this Covid second wave.

Now with this Oxygen plant, he has joined Mega Star Chirajeevi in his quest to supply oxygen to rural India. Earlier on Friday, Chiranjeevi Charitable Trust announced that Mega Star is setting up an Oxygen Bank across various districts in the state.

Mega Star Chiranjeevi apart from his acting and stardom is also known as a man with a golden heart. The ‘Acharya’ actor over the last many years has been donating his time simultaneously to both acting and philanthropic activities.

The latest case is that of Tamil actor Ponnambalam. The actor who has also played the villain in Chiranjeevi’s Gharana Mugudu, Hitler, etc. has been suffering from a kidney ailment. Chiranjeevi immediately stepped forward and donated Rs 2 lakhs for the operation.

The news about Chiranjeevi’s help was revealed by Ponnambalam himself, who shared about the kind gesture of Chiranjeevi via video. The viral video has Ponnambalam thanking ‘Annayya’ Chiranjeevi for his timely help.

In 2020, the Mega Star set up a Corona Crisis Charity (CCC) last year to take care of the emergency needs of all the cine workers. Additionally, he recently announced that all the cine workers of Tollywood will be administered free COVID vaccine. Recently, the Mega Star announced the setting up of an Oxygen Bank. This will be functional in a weeks time across all the districts.

Netizens troll Family man 2 as #ShameonYouSamantha trends

Samantha will be making her digital debut with the Family Man 2. The second season of this spy thriller web series is going to be bigger and more intense this time around. Starring Manoj Bajpayee and Priyamani alongside Samantha, Family Man 2 trailer released on May 19. While the trailer was appreciated by many, it also faced some harsh criticism.

Many Tamil users felt the series is showing the state in a bad light. Tamil Twitter users have been trending the hashtag #ShameonYouSamantha ‘#Familyman2_Against_Tamils’, and criticizing actress Samantha Akkineni for essaying the role of a Sri Lankan Tamil rebel named Raaji in the series. Users have taken offense to a scene which talks of a coalition between ‘ISI and rebels’.

The creators Raj and DK had earlier said that Samantha is playing something unique, something she has never done before. Meanwhile, the show is all set to release on June 4th on Amazon Prime Video.

Producer and publicist BA Raju passes away

Tollywood film producer and senior film publicist BA Raju passed away in Hyderabad on Friday due to cardiac arrest. He was 62. His son, Shiva Kumar broke the news through Twitter which has shaken the entire film industry. He stated that Raju passed away due to sudden fluctuations of diabetes which led to a cardiac arrest.

“With extreme sorrow & grief we would like to announce the untimely demise of our beloved father Shri B.A.Raju. He passed away due to sudden fluctuations of diabetes & cardiac arrest.  May his Soul Rest In Peace. Dad Be A “Raju” Forever because You are a “SUPERHIT” in Our Hearts.” (sic), he tweeted. 

Raju worked as the personal publicist for veteran actor Krishna and later worked as a publicist for his son Mahesh Babu. He was also a noted journalist and founder and editor of film magazine ‘Superhit. He worked as the publicist for over 1500 Telugu films, and also produced a few films like Premalo Pavani Kalyan, Chantigadu, Premikulu, Lovely, and Vaisakham. Lovely was directed by his wife B Jaya, who passed away four years ago. 

Mahesh Babu, with whom Raju had acquaintance for many decades was shaken by the Raju’s death.

Film industry bigwigs such as Chiranjeevi, Venkatesh,Jr NTR among others expressed their condolences at the demise of BA Raju.

However, tragedy stuck the movie set when the lavish set designed for the movie in the outskirts of Hyderabad came down. Hyderabad has been facing rains for the past few days and that impacted the set as well which has been vacant as the shooting has stopped due to Covid.

Nani’s Shyam Singha Roy set in Kolkata explores the theme of reincarnation is in its final schedule and will soon complete the shooting part. The makers left no stone unturned to ensure the movie gets a grand look and set up this lavish set for the same. It is reported that the set costed the makers a whopping Rs 6.5 crores and is spread across 10 acres. This is one of the costliest sets ever erected for a Telugu movie.

The movie is directed by Rahul Sankirtyan and is being bankrolled under Niharika Entertainment banner. Mickey J Meyer will be composing music for this supernatural thriller. The film will also have additional cast of Madonna Sebastian and Murali Sharma in key roles.

Pooja keeps herself busy with scripts

Pooja Hegde who has her hands full of big projects right now is apparently looking to switch gears. The ‘Ala Vaikunthapuram Lo’ actress has reportedly made it clear that she is keen on doing more female-centric roles in Tollywood.

The pandemic has definitely brought up challenges that none of us could ever imagine. Along with that it also highlighted some selfless people who have done extraordinary service to humanity in these trying times. Jathiratnalu actor Jeevan Kumar is one of them.

Jeevan, an actor cum entrepreneur has been providing food for more than 350 Covid-19 patients every day besides distributing food at major hospitals like Gachibowli TIMS, Fever hospital, Osmania General Hospital where the footfall of patients is more.

Jeevan, who owns Charcoal BBQ restaurant in Madhapur spoke to an English daily where he explained about his work during the pandemic. “Our kitchens at Madhapur and Malkajgiri function round-the-clock. Mostly, requests come in through [email protected]. I am planning to reach out to children and other organisations with the help of my friends and family. Requests have been coming from people who could not afford essentials, for them, I pay for through GPay. As much as 10,000 kgs of rice was sent to tribal areas like Nagarkurnool, Bhadradri Kothagudem,” he said.

Jeevan also plans to take up a similar initiative for the film industry. He requested people to develop empathy and help out whenever they come across people in need. The Jathiratnalu actor was also seen in Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi and Falaknuma Das.
