Superstar Mahesh and Powerstar Pawan Kalyan to come together for SSM28?

0

In what is being considered as the biggest collaboration of all in Tollywood, Superstar Mahesh Babu, and Powerstar Pawan Kalyan are going to come together for a film. While movie lovers’ dream of seeing Superstar Mahesh and Powerstar Pawan Kalyan on-screen might have to wait for now., SSMB28 will have the two coming together for a project.

The movie directed by Trivikram will have Pawan Kalyan’s production banner Pawan Kalyan Creative Works as the co-producer for the film alongside Haarika and Hassine Creations.

Superstar Mahesh and Powerstar Pawan Kalyan won’t appear together on screen. But some optimistic fans are already expecting few making stills and behind-the-scenes videos which would be enough to take the internet by storm.

According to sources, SSMB 28 going to be quite different from all the past Trivikram films. The film will be a Bond-type story with a number of high moments all through.

Of late, the ‘Ala Vaikunthapuram Lo’ director has been mainly focussing on family entertainers. However, Mahesh has made it clear that the genre, as well as the treatment of the subject, must be different. Reportedly, the Super Star is not interested in run-of-the-mill family entertainers.

Extremely thankful to Prabhas, says Radhakrishna

Radheshyam director Radhakrishna is an elated man as the much delayed romantic drama has been wrapped up. Speaking about the movie, the director stated that he’s extremely proud the way movie has shaped out and thankful to the producers and entire unit for the support.

The young director though is most thankful to Prabhas as he points out that without the latter’s support movie couldn’t have finished. ‘Especially during this pandemic and tough times we needed someone to encourage and constantly support and I am thankful for Prabhas’s constant support throughout the project,” he explained.

Radhakrishna also said that the film will be a unique experience for the audience. “I can’t tell you more but I can tell you that films in the romance genre are always unique when you make them differently. “

Radhe Shyam will release on January 14, 2022. The pan-India romantic drama will clash with Superstar Mahesh Babu’s Sarkaru Vaari Paata and Powerstar Pawan Kalyan’s Hari Hara Veera Mallu.

Raw deal for Nani’s Tuck Jagadish

0

Nani’s Tuck Jagadish has faced the maximum brunt of the movies’ impacted due to the pandemic. The movie was earlier scheduled to release on April 23rd earlier this year but the pandemic spoiled the plans. Both the makers and Nani constantly assured the fans through updates and posters that the movie would release only in theatres when the situation normalizes.

However, with theatres reopening but only with 50% occupancy in AP and future uncertainties over the pandemic, the decision to go for the OTT route was finally taken. Nani’s Tuck Jagdish will now release on Amazon Prime soon. The movie has been sold to the OTT giant for Rs 37 crores which might sound sweet in normal conditions but the story is far from true.

This deal has not been a fruitful one for the makers. The pre-release theatrical business for the movie earlier this year fetched makers a solid Rs 30 crores. And had the movie released in theatres, the subsequent theatrical + digital rights would have easily fetched the producers Rs 40 crores + collections. The makers out of no choice and unwillingness to wait anymore are left with no option but to chose OTT release.

This is not just an isolated incident but many films that are going the digital route are now left with no choice but to go for this less tempting OTT deal.

Shiva Nirvana is directing this family entertainer and Tuck Jagadish marks the second collaboration between him and Nani after Ninnu Kori. Jagapathi Babu, Nassar, Ritu Varma, Aishwarya Rajesh, and Rohini are playing other pivotal roles, while Sahu Garapati and Harish Peddi are the producers under Shine Screens banner.

0

Megastar Chiranjeevi, who is currently busy with Koratala Siva’s Acharya has a couple of high-profile remakes lined up next. He will be next seen in the remake of the Malayalam blockbuster Lucifer. The film originally starred Mohanlal in the lead role and Chiranjeevi will be reprising his role. The film was launched earlier this year and Mohan Raja will be directing this film

Post Lucifer, Chiranjeevi will be seen in another remake. This remake will be of 2015 Tamil film Vedalam which starred Ajith in the lead role. Mehr Ramesh will direct the Telugu remake.

Interestingly, it is being rumoured that Keerthy Suresh will feature in the crucial role of Chiru’s younger sister. The role is quite important in the film and was played by Lakshmi Menon in the Tamil version.

If this actually works out, it will be an interesting casting choice and is sure to set the screen on fire for the fans. Chiranjeevi meanwhile is looking to wrap up Acharya which is already quite delayed before he moves to Lucifer.

Keerthy Suresh is currently busy shooting for Superstar Mahesh Babu’s Sarkaru Vaari Paata.

SR Kalyanamandapam Day 1 Talk & Box-office Status

0

SR Kalyanamandapam released today amidst mixed talk but has been performing well at box office in some centres. Debutant Sridhar Gade directed this romantic drama and Kiran Abbavaram has written the story, screenplay, and dialogues for the film. Surprisingly, the openings for the movie have been great despite the poor reviews and limited occupancy.

SR Kalyanamandapam recorded house fulls in many centres for morning and noon shows in Andhra despite limited occupancies. Despite the mixed talk, the box office has been extraordinary in Andhra and decent in Nizam.

The movie has a great chance of crossing the breakeven figure by the weekend if it continues the same occupancy levels across the two states. While there were 5 other releases today, SR Kalyanamandapam is the most prominent one occupying maximum centers. The film packs a decent combination of action, comedy, and good music and may well cross the breakeven mark soon.

SR Kalyanamandapam review: Same old tale with a dull narration

0

Movie: SR Kalyanamandapam
Rating: 2.5/5
Cast: Kiran Abbavaram, Priyanka Jawalkar, Sai Kumar
Director: Sridhar Gade
Produced By: Pramod, Raju
Release Date: 6th August 2021

Coming after the success of his debut film Raja Varu Rani Garu, Kiran Abbavaram has tried an image makeover in SR Kalyanamandapam by going for a massy role. The film revolves around a father and son’s strained relationship and what develops out of it as the movie progresses. Kalyan (Kiran) also falls in love with a girl Sindhu (Priyanka) and how his life shapes after that forms the crux of the story

Story: The story is set in Rayachoti (Kadapa) where Dharma (Sai Kumar) owns a once successful Kalyanamandapam. Due to some bad decisions, the kalyanamandapam is past its prime. How these bad decisions impact his relationship with his wife (Tulasi) and son (Kiran) and how Kiran pulls the family back to glory by going through obstacles is what SR Kalyanamandapam encapsulates.

Performance: Kiran Abbavaram has aimed quite high with his second movie itself. While he totally fits the happy-go-lucky college boy character, the action sequences featuring him look unconvincing. Priyanka Jawalkar is wasted in her role as Sindhu and there is nothing much for her barring few songs. Sai Kumar and Tanikella Bharani essay the same old roles which now they can even play in sleep. Their presence uplifts the movie well.

Analysis: SR Kalyanamandapam is a run of a mill family drama where a problem (Kalyanamandapam running out of business) causes conflict between the characters and all is well when the problem is resolved by the hero. Sridhar Gade has taken a routine premise and ha presented it in a bland and old fashioned way. The hero’s characterization doesn’t look convincing and could have been written in a better manner. The college romance also falters and it’s up to the supporting cast and some comedy scenes in the first half to save the viewers from zoning off.

Plus Points:

Sai Kumar’s performance

Music

First half comedy

Climax sentiment

Minus Points:

Slow narration

Writing

Fights look unconvincing on Kiran

Unknown faces in the support cast

Verdict: SR Kalyanamandapam is a routine run-off-the-mill story and delivers exactly what was shown in the trailers and teasers. The screenplay and dialogues written by Kiran Abbavaram himself look half-baked and unconvincing at times. One of the biggest drawbacks of the film is the elevation and fight scenes aimed at Kiran which doesn’t look convincing at all. He still has time to go for the mass image and it would be ideal if he goes for content-driven films for a while. Priyanka Jawalkar and Kiran’s love story is also unconvincing and doesn’t pack the punch. SR Kalyanamandapam could have been a better experience if it was trimmed further and more focus was laid on the father-son dynamics.

After Vijay, Dhanush receives strong word from court

0

Madras High court on Thursday stopped Dhanush from withdrawing his tax exemption plea that he had filed back in 2012 for his imported car. The court also reprimanded the actor for even seeking the tax exemption on the car in the first place.

The court questioned Dhanush on the purpose of the appeal especially considering that his car would run on roads paved by taxpayers’ money.

Dhanush had sought tax exemption for his Rolls Royce car, which he had imported from London. He was levied a tax amount of Rs 60.66 lakhs. When the actor filed a plea seeking tax exemption back in 2015, the court then directed the Regional Transport Officer to register the vehicle once the actor pays 50% of the tax. Accordingly, the actor had paid Rs 30.33 lakhs. However, he hasn’t paid the remaining amount so far as per the order.

The judge further made some serious comments about the intentions of high-paid actors seeking tax exemption while the majority of the citizens continue to pay taxes despite poor income. The judge also claimed that such cases deprive the court of time that could be used for genuine issues.

Interestingly, just last month Vijay had also appealed for a similar exemption only to be rejected by the Madras High Court. Both Dhanush and Vijay have been massively criticized for their petitions.
