Chiru 153 goes on floor today, to be wrapped by December

Megastar Chiranjeevi’s remake of Malayalam blockbuster Lucifer went on floors today in Hyderabad. Chiru153 will be directed by Mohan Raja and SS Thaman will be composing music for the first time for Megastar.

The Telugu remake of the 2019 Malayalam blockbuster Lucifer was launched earlier this year. However, post the puja ceremony, the buzz on the Lucifer remake has cooled down due to lockdown and Chiranjeevi being busy with Acharya.

In a recent media interaction, Producer NV Prasad stated that the movie will be shot in a record time. The makers have planned to wrap it up in 4 months. If this actually happens, Chiru153 will be one of the quickest wrap-ups of Megastar in recent times.

Chiranjeevi’s last 3 films, Acharya, Sye Raa and Khaidi No.150 have all taken more than a year to complete. With the makers of Lucifer remake looking to complete it in 4 months, fans’ excitement has spiked up yet again. The project will be jointly produced by NV Prasad and Konidela Productions.

Lucifer, starring Mohanlal, was the directorial debut of Prithviraj Sukumaran. The film emerged as one of the biggest blockbusters in Malayalam cinema. Lucifer, a political thriller, starred Mohanlal in a character called Stephen Nedumpally. Produced by Antony Perumbavoor, the film also starred Manju Warrier, Vivek Oberoi, Tovino Thomas, and Indrajith Sukumaran in crucial roles.

It is a known fact that Gunasekhar films take longer than usual times for completion. The reason for this could be the VFX works or the massive sets taking time to get erected etc. However, this time around Samantha’s Shaakuntalam has not seen any delay and despite pandemic, the film has been wrapped up in a matter of few months.

The film starring Samantha, Dev Mohan, Aditi Balan, and Mohan Babu in key roles was launched in just March early this year. The film also saw some delays due to pandemic and with Gunasekhar testing Covid positive, it was pushed further.

However, despite such delays, Samantha’s Shaakuntalam has been wrapped up quite fast and this has indeed surprised many industry insiders. The movie is based on the play Shakuntala written by Kalidasa and will be a pan-India release. The titular role is being played by Samantha while Dev Mohan will be playing the role of Dushyant. Mohan Babu will be essaying the character of Dhruva Maharshi.

Adivi Sesh’s Major final schedule begins

Adivi Sesh’s Major has been in the making for quite some time and has faced multiple delays due to the pandemic. The movie unit finally has reached to the last stage and the shooting for the final schedule will begin today. The filming of Major will be completed by the end of August and it will be ready to release only in theatres, said the makers.

Major stars Adivi Sesh in the titular role of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan of the Indian Army. The film is a biographical account of the martyr who sacrificed his life during the Mumbai terror attacks in 2008.

The teasers and posters released so far have created great positive interest for the film and the unit has been appreciated for its great technical values. The move was earlier scheduled to release on 2nd July but got pushed due to Covid interrupting the shoot.

Adiv Sesh’s Major has been in the making for quite some time and has faced multiple delays due to the pandemic. The movie unit will release once better conditions prevail across the country. Sashi Kiran Tikka is directing this multi-lingual film. Sony Pictures Releasing International, G Mahesh Babu Entertainment, and A+S Movies are producing the film. The movie is shot simultaneously in Telugu and Hindi.

Akhanda climax shoot wrapped

The shooting of Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Akhanda finally came to an end as the unit wrapped up the shoot of the climax portions and fights in Tiruvannamalai in Tamil Nadu. The makers had sought special permissions to shoot the climax fights in the temple premises and its said to be one of the biggest highlights of the movie.

The film was earlier scheduled to release on May 28 according to original plans. However, it had to be postponed indefinitely due to the Covid second wave. Boyapati Srinu recently revealed that the makers are being watchful at the moment as there is an impending risk of the Covid third wave as well. The unit has decided to release the film only after it is safe and everything eases.

The movie is the third one in the combination of Balakrishna and the director after Simha and Legend. Fans are eagerly waiting to see what kind of intense action the duo has packed in the film. Adding to this, the teasers of the movie have also taken the hype around the movie to great heights.
