Jaganmohan Reddy to meet Chiranjeevi and others over ticket pricing

0

Looks like the ongoing tussle between the AP Government and Tollywood is going to come to an amicable solution soon. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy has agreed to meet a congregation of Tollywood members headed by Megastar Chiranjeevi.

The meeting will revolve around the Andhra Pradesh government’s orders on pricing slab on ticket prices which it issued in April. The directives from the government created great troubles for movie producers and exhibitors who claim that this pricing slab will cause massive losses to the upcoming big-budget Tollywood films.

Jaganmohan Reddy too had reportedly asked his associates to not bring this topic or requests from Tollywood to him as his decision was final. However, with the Chief Minister accepting to hold the meeting with Tollywood biggies, there seems to be a ray of hope for the producers and exhibitors. The meeting will be held in the last week of August.

Icon Star Allu Arjun’s Pushpa is one of the most awaited movies of the year. Every single poster, update, and stills are evoking great curiosity. It’s this hype that made fans and movie lovers lap up the first single of Pushpa Daakko Daakko Meka with both hands.

The lyrical has now become the most viewed South Indian and most liked Tollywood lyrical in 24hours. Daakko Daakko Meka has recorded 9.4 million views and 657 thousand likes in a day. The other version of the songs are also doing quite well.

The song released in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi have received thumbs up from the listeners with the visuals and editing receiving special applause. Vishal Dadlani (Hindi), Vijay Prakash (Kannada), Rahul Nambiar (Malayalam), Shivam (Telugu), and Benny Dayal (Tamil) have performed the five versions.

Paagal review: All hype no substance

0

Movie: Paagal
Rating: 2.25/5
Cast: Vishwak Sen, Nivetha Pethuraj, Murali Sharma, Simran Chowdhary, Megha Lekha
Director: Naresh Kuppili
Produced By: Dil Raju, Bekkam Venugopal
Release Date: 14th August 2021

Vishwak Sen’s much-hyped Paagal finally hit the screens today. The movie, which features Vishwak Sen in the lead role as a lover boy created enough curiosity through its unconventional promotions and quirky trailers. But, does the movie actually have the substance? does it have more than what meets our eye? Or is it time for Vishwak Sen to introspect? Let’s find out.

Story: Paagal follows the journey of a happy-go-lucky guy in search of true love. Aptly named Prem, he is highly attached to his mother (Bhumika Chawla) who passes away when he was quite young. His attachment to his mother prompts him to find a girl who is a shadow of his late mother. To find such a person he proposes to 1600 girls and even moves cities. Does he find the one? what are the complications this quest of his brings to him forms the crux of Paagal.

Performance: Paagal is entirely Vishwak Sen’s movie and rests on his shoulder. He has ably carried the movie and gives a good performance as expected from the trailers. Murali Sharma who has played the same role as a girl’s father a number of times is adequate and it would have been great if he was there for longer. Nivetha Pethuraj as the engaged girl Teera is the lead heroine and doesn’t have much to do as the movie progresses. Her character has great scope for performance but the writing lets her down. Simran Chowdhary and Megha Lekha do not have much to do and are wasted by poor writing

Analysis: Paagal has an interesting premise and could have been an out-and-out romantic entertainer if not for lagging screenplay and tasteless comedy scenes. The film starts promisingly and sets an interesting foundation for a great closure in the second half. However, the second half totally lets the film down and the film feels draggy at times. For a romantic entertainer, the chemistry between Vishwak Sen and Nivetha Pethuraj falls flat and the pair looks odd on screen.

Plus Points:

Vishwak Sen’s decent acting

Music

Minus Points:

Comedy

Dragged second half

Unconvincing writing

Verdict: Paagal wouldn’t have come under so much scrutiny had it not been for the histrionics of Vishwak Sen in the pre-release event. While the film is decent at best, raising expectations through over-the-top statements might backfire for the movie which indeed lacks substance. While Vishwak has done a good job in the film, the screenplay has let him down with debutant director Naresh Kuppili looking clueless on handling certain strong emotional as well as comic moments.

Kajal’s statement brings relief to the fans

Kajal Agarwal, who was once the number one actress in Tollywood is now slowly losing her position as the top-billed actress. The actress is now seen in fewer Tollywood biggies and even featured in sister’s role earlier this year in box-office dud Mosagallu.

While she will be seen in Acharya with Megastar Chiranjeevi and Nagarjuna in the Praveen Sattaru film, offers with tier one young heroes have dried up. With the actress past her peak and new heroines grabbing all the biggies, fans are now wondering if she is taking a break from Tollywood.

In a recent public appearance at a store opening in Warangal, Kajal gave a massive relief to her fans. She confirmed that she will be seen in two more films along with Acharya and Nagarjuna film. She further added that further details will be shared by the makers soon.

Pawan will be next seen in Ayyappannum Koshiyum remake alongside Rana. Apart from this, he also has Hari Hara Veera Mallu with Krish and PSPK 28 lined up with Harish Shankar.

To start with, the makers of Ayyappannum Koshiyum remake Sithara Entertainments are going to make a powerful announcement in a while at 4:05 PM. This is rumoured to be about the title announcement of this project which will happen on 15th August. Also, there are a couple of other updates scheduled for Power Star’s birthday. The release of the PSPK-Rana film’s first single is expected on that day.

Along with it, a new poster of PSPK28 will be released on the same date. There are also chances of some announcements from Hari Hara Veera Mallu as well.

‘Daakko Daako Meka’ a peek into the wild and ruthless world of Pushpa

0

The first single of Pushpa Daakko Daakko Meka dropped in just a while ago and it has got everyone raving about it. The song was released in 5 languages- Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada. Vishal Dadlani (Hindi), Vijay Prakash (Kannada), Rahul Nambiar (Malayalam), Shivam (Telugu), and Benny Dayal (Tamil) have performed the five versions.

One of the highlights of the song is Allu Arjun’s rugged look and minimalistic dance moves. The Icon Star who usually has a happy-go-lucky attitude on the screen will be seen in a never before serious and wild portrayal in Pushpa. A glimpse of the same has been shown in the song.

While the song’s beats are catchy, the music and lyrics falter at places and don’t exactly keep the listener on hooks. The song’s presentation is terrific and the animation and editing of the video look top-notch. Miroslaw Kuba Brozek’s visuals capture the essence of the forest brilliantly while Allu Arjun once again looks like a million bucks.

The song is surely expected to create a few records owing to the visuals more than the music.
