Release Date Locked For Ajith’s Valimai

Ajith’s Valimai has been the most-anticipated Tamil movie for a long time now. The film has faced multiple hurdles due to the pandemic already and has faced numerous shoot delays. Fans of Ajith have been desperate to see their star on the big screens again after 3 years.

The team released a few songs, followed by the trailer, which hyped up expectations anymore. Finally, a Pongal 2022 release was confirmed. But, unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 cases rising in the country, the release date of Valimai was postponed yet again.

But. there is some good news. Valimai has been given a new tentative release date of March 10th, which will remain constant or change depending on the COVID-19 cases and restrictions in the country.

Due to a big budget and a multi-lingual release, the makers did not want to incur any losses on the film. They want to release it when there are no occupancy restrictions in Tamil Nadu, TS, and AP, which are the major markets for the film. The film is also releasing in Hindi.

Valimai also stars Karthikeya, Huma Qureshi, and Yogi Babu among others. H. Vinoth, who has earlier worked with Ajith in Nerkonda Parvaai is the director of the movie. Boney Kapoor is the producer of the film. Yuvan Shankar Raja is the music director of the movie.

Suriya’s 24 Sequel Update To Be Out Soon

When Suriya’s 24 was released in 2016, the movie blew the mind of the general audience. The audiences had never seen a time-travel thriller on that level before.

The masses gulped up the film thoroughly but the film turned out to be average fare at box office. There was widespread critical acclaim for the film. The climax also built up a lot of curiosity for a potential sequel to 24.

Recently, the director of 24, Vikram Kumar confirmed that there will be a Part 2 to the film. This got fans of the movie extremely excited. The updates regarding the sequel of Suriya’s 24 will be out in Mid 2022 as soon as Suriya is done with his other projects.

Due to Suriya’s expansion in the other states due to the OTT boom, the sequel of 24 will release on a Pan-Indian level in all 5 languages. After the reach of Soorarai Pootru and Jai Bhim, Suriya has made himself a solid market in the North as well as the other Southern states.

The sequel will potentially star Samantha and Nithya Menen as well. There are strong reports about AR Rahman being the music director of the film as well.

Suriya is currently awaiting the release of Etharrkum Thunindhavam, which is currently postponed.

Chiranjeevi Tests Positive For COVID-19 Virus

COVID-19 cases have been on the rise again in India, with the advent of the third wave. Numerous celebrities from the Telugu Film Industry have contracted the virus just this last month. Mahesh Babu, Thaman S, Keerthy Suresh, Rajendra Prasad, Trisha, and Sathyaraj to just name a few. Fortunately, all of them have managed to make it out safely.

Now, Chiranjeevi has tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. The actor took to his Twitter where he is usually the most vocal, to announce to his well-wishers and fans that he has tested positive for the COVID-19 virus.

“Dear All, despite taking all necessary precautions I have tested positive yesterday with mild symptoms.” He also added that he is quarantining at home, and requested everyone who came in contact with him to get tested as well.

“I cannot wait to see you all back soon” he expressed. We wish Chiranjeevi a safe and speedy recovery from COVID-19.

On the work front, Chiranjeevi will be awaiting the release of Acharya on April 1st, 2022. Apart from that, he is actively shooting for Godfather, the remake of Malayalam superhit Lucifer. He is also a part of the Bobby directorial Mega 154, and Bhola Shankar as well.

Arjuna Phalguna now streaming on OTT

Sree Vishnu’s recent action entertainer Arjuna Phalguna is now streaming on Aha. The film released on December 31st to poor reviews. It failed to attract the audience to the theatres and ended up as a flop at the box office.

Sree Vishnu’s other releases this year were Gaali Sampath and Raja Raja Chora. Both had unique storytelling and impressive presentations. These films didn’t set the box-office on fire, hence Sree Vishnu had placed high hopes on this year-end release

Arjuna Phalguna follows the story of Sre Vishnu (Arjuna) who along with his friends leads an ordinary life. The bunch of unemployed friends decided to set up a Soda center and are in need of money for the same.

In order to procure the money the group undertakes certain illegal ways and is caught in a web of troubles. What happens next and how this decision turns their lives upside down is what the story follows.

The film also stars Mahesh Achanta, Amrita Iyer, Chaitanya Garikapati, and Naresh among others. Teja Mani is the director of the film, and Kalyan Krishna has produced the film under the Matinee Entertainments banner.

Prabhas sets a new benchmark for remunerations with Raja Deluxe

Prabhas’ stardom has grown leaps and bounds in the last few years. His lineup of pan-India projects one after another is a testament to that. With the growing market, Prabhas’ remuneration has also grown substantially. And quite deservingly, the producers are also lining up and ready to pay any quoted amount.

Amidst his lineup of pan-India biggies, he will be also seen in Raja Deluxe directed by Maruthi. The Young Rebel Star has allotted 50 days of call sheet for this project. While the scale of the movie might be small, his remuneration for Raja Deluxe is no way small.

Reportedly, he is charging Rs 100 crore for the project. This means for the 50 days call sheet he is charging Rs 2 crores per day. An advance has also been paid for the same. DVV Danayya is bankrolling this project.

Director Maruthi recently took to Twitter and said that “time will reveal everything”. An official update on the project will be out soon. Raja Deluxe is a horror-comedy and SS Thaman has been brought on board to compose tunes.

Folk singer Darsanam Mogulaiah has been conferred with the prestigious Padma Shri award. The singer shot to fame after he sang the Bheemla Nayak title song. Darsanam Mogulaiah is a noted folk singer who has extraordinary expertise on the Kinnera instrument.

Mogulaiah belongs to Amrabad, Mahbubnagar, and is the only person today who can play Kinnera which is made of bamboo sticks, pumpkins, honey, wax, bull horns, and mirrors. He is the fifth generation artist to play Kinnera and learnt it from his father at the age of 8

The initial vocals of the Bheemla Nayak title song was performed by Mogulaiah who received great applause for his part. Pawan Kalyan also later offered financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh to the folk performer.

There are 130 names on the list of Padma Awardees this year. The list was announced a while ago on the eve of India’s 73rd Republic Day.

Makers happy with Pawan Kalyan’s Bheemla Nayak output

Pawan Kalyan’s Bheemla Nayak is all set to hit the screens next month on the 25th. This will bring an end to the fan’s long wait to see Powerstar in an action-packed role. While the film is a remake of the Malayalam film Ayyappannum Koshiyum, this Pawan Kalyan and Rana Daggubati starrer has been made with local sensitivities and heightened commercial elements.

The movie’s run time has also been shortened to just 2 hours and 10 minutes from the original 3 hour-long Ayyappannum Koshiyum. The team is extremely happy with the output and the shortened run time and action sequences have worked in the movie’s favour.

Bheemla Nayak will release on February 25th after a long wait and multiple delays. The unit is hopeful that there won’t be any occupancy restrictions and is looking forward to a bumper opening. Reportedly, Powerstar was keen on keeping the film slick and pacy and the makers have removed songs and slowish scenes from the original.

The film will have a racy screenplay and both Pawan and Trivikram have ensured that the film doesn’t have any dull moments. Bheemla Nayak also stars Nithya Menen, Samyuktha Menon, Brahmanandam, and Murali Sharma in prominent roles. Trivikram has written the screenplay for the film and Saagar K Chandra is directing the movie.

Ram Pothineni’s The Warrior Hindi Dubbing Rights Sold For Record Price

Ram Pothineni has been on a roll lately, with a lot to rejoice for. He has had back-to-back successes in the form of Ismart Shankar and RED and has developed a strong market for himself.

In more great news, Ram Pothineni’s action drama The Warrior’s Hindi dubbing rights have been sold for a whopping record price of 16 crores.

This is not only the highest in Ram’s career but also the highest for any tier 2 actors. Just to give context, Nani’s Shyam Singha Roy, was bought for 10 crores. The Warrior’s Hindi dubbing rights have created a new record in Ram’s career.

The Warrior is an action drama where Ram will play a strict, no-nonsense police officer. The first look of the film looks promising. It is a bilingual project and will release in both Tamil as well as Telugu.

The film also stars Krithi Shetty opposite Ram, Aadhi Pinisetty as the antagonist, and Akshara Gowda among others. N Linguswamy, who has directed some of the biggest films in Tamil is also the director of the film. Srinivasa Chitturi has produced the film under Srinivasa Silver Screen. Devi Sri Prasad is the music director of the movie.

No releases in Karnataka from March 17th to 23rd

Karnataka film distributors have decided to not release any movie state-wide from March 17th to March 23rd. This decision has been taken as Kannada Superstar Puneeth Rajkumar’s last film ‘James’ would be releasing on the same day.

The distributors association as a mark of respect for ‘Appu’ has decided to leave the week free of any other releases. Puneeth Rajkumar, 46 passed away last year on October 29th due to a cardiac arrest. His death sent shockwaves across the nation and Karnataka went into mourning.

March 17th marks the birth anniversary of the actor and the makers are running against the time to complete the CGI and RR of the film.

James was one of the last films Puneeth Rajkumar had completed shooting. Puneeth’s portions would be dubbed by other artists. Priya Anand will star opposite the star in this film.
