OTT platform Aha owners to step into film production

Aha one of the leading Telugu OTT platforms owned by Arha media & broadcasting private limited, joint venture by Geetha Arts and My Home group. We all know that Geetha Arts is leading production house in Tollywood. Now the other partner My Home group is also looking to step into film production now.

My Home Group, one of the leading construction firms of Telangana holds a major share in the Telugu digital platform Aha. My Home Group has now decided to invest big in Tollywood in the coming years. They are financing several big-budget films and they will soon make their debut in film production.

Some big announcements are expected in the coming days from My Home group. They are currently lending finance for few films. It is heard that they are in plans to produce big budget films in the coming years along with content driven films. They are also planning to start Music level as well.

Salman Khan not charging any remuneration for Chiranjeevi’s Godfather

Bollywood Superstar Salman Khan will be playing a key role in Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Godfather. A remake of Malayalam superhit Lucifer, ‘Godfather’ will see Chiranjeevi reprise Mohanlal’s role while Salman Khan will have a small cameo. Prithviraj Sukumaran played this cameo in the original.

Tamil director Mohanraja is directing Chiranjeevi’s Godfather which will also star Nayanthara. Coming to Salman Khan’s cameo, the rumours have been going on for quite some time. This was confirmed after photos of the two stars surfaced online today. Interestingly, Salman Khan is not charging any remuneration for this film and this gesture has won many hearts.

The two stars are very close friends and Salman even shares a special bond with Ram Charan. Chiranjeevi welcomed Salman with a post on Twitter and said that the Bollywood star’s presence has ‘energized everyone & the excitement has gone to next level’.

Godfather’s shooting started last year and a schedule was shot in Hyderabad outskirts while another was shot in Ooty. Tipped to be a high intense political action drama, Mohan Raja is helming the project with extra care as he is aware of what fans expect from a Megastar film. Konidela Productions along with Super Good Films are backing the project.

RRR movie business details and box office classification

SS Rajamouli’s RRR is all set to release worldwide on 25th March and promotions are in full swing. The trio of Rajamouli, Jr NTR, and Ram Charan are giving back-to-back interviews and attending promotional events.  The theatrical business of the movie has been completed a long back and now the internal business is in full swing. For a few areas, the makers are releasing the movie with some terms.

For the Nizam region, RRR needs to collect Rs 72 crores share in order to achieve breakeven. The RRR movie business has to be in the range of Rs 90 crore share for Andhra (6 territories). Coming to Ceeded, the breakeven mark is Rs 40 crore share. Overall, the movie needs to collect Rs 200 crores + share to achieve breakeven in Telugu states.

In Tamil Nadu, the film should hit the Rs 75Cr+ gross for breakeven while in Kerala, the number is 20Cr+. In Karnataka 80Cr+ gross is needed to achieve breakeven. From the Hindi version, the film should collect 250Cr nett while from Overseas, RRR needs to collect $22M to achieve a Hit status.

While these numbers seem astronomical, especially for the Telugu states, the buzz around the movie is massive. RRR is sure to achieve a blockbuster opening. Meanwhile, Rajamouli is also trying his best to receive permission for ticket hikes and that would definitely help the movie’s cause.

Allu Arjun who is on a roll with his recent blockbuster, Pushpa looks signing his next film with Rajamouli. He is currently working on the sequel of Pushpa, Pushpa : The Rule directed by Sukumar. Pre-production works of this film are going on full swing. Film’s shoot might also be started after some days. Sukumar and his team are busy scripting the final version of Pushpa’s sequel.

Pushpa made Allu Arjun a Pan-Indian sensation. Songs and Mannerisms of the film have become popular that many co-celebrities and cricketers started using and imitating them. Allu Arjun, popular through his hindi dubbed films on YouTube pushed his popularity even more forward with the success of Pushpa. He is now aiming to follow the path of Prabhas who is working only on Pan-Indian projects.

Allu Arjun recently met Sanjay Leela Bhansali to everyone’s surprise. Rumours are rife that they are collaborating for a film. Now what makes even more interesting is his next film with S.S. Rajamouli. Rajamouli had already announced a film with Mahesh Babu. This film is very likely to go on sets after the release of RRR and Sarkaru Vaari Paata. So Rajamouli might be planning a film with Allu Arjun after this film.

5 days collections : The Kashmir Files on rampage mode at Box-office !

Anupam Kher and Mithun Chakraborthy starrer The Kashmir Files is setting box-office on fire. The film which is based on the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits during Kashmir war in 1990 is winning people’s hearts. The film is getting big day by day and is becoming very popular throughout the country.

The Kashmir Files which released as a small budget film achieved a good word of mouth and went on to impress urban multiplex audience first. The film which released on 11 march even pushed back Radhe Shyam in Hindi Market’s revenue. The film’s opening day collections were at 3.35 crs, on saturday at 8.50 cr. The film on Sunday did very big and managed to collect around 15.10cr. What is even more surprising is it’s Monday collections which are on par with Sunday. On Monday the film collected around 15.05 crs. On Tuesday it is even more big with 17.50 crs. Total collections are at 59.50 crores. With these the film is expected to touch 200 crores at the end of it’s run.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently met the makers of The Kashmir Files specially to greet them on their success and appreciated their attempt. He even said more films like this need to be made so that people can know the truth.

Ajith signed his next film with Lyca Productions

Ajith who came up with his recent film, Valimai has signed his next film with Lyca Production it seems. The film not yet titled, will be directed by Vignesh Shivan. Nayanthara is said to be starring alongside Ajith for the fourth time after Billa, Arrambam and Viswasam. Music Director Anirudh will compose the music for the film, making it his third collaboration with Ajith after Vedhalam and Vivegam. This film will be Ajith’s 62nd film.

Ajith’s recent film Valimai received a mixed talk amid huge hype but managed to do good at TN box office by collecting more than 105 crs gross and 150 crs gross worldwide. The film is still running in the theatres. Ajith has already okayed a film, specualted as AK61 with the director of Valimai, H.Vinoth which will see him in a negative role. A recent look of Ajith with his family has also come out. He was seen with beard and an ear stud. This film will also be produced by Boney Kapoor.

What is interesting is Ajith has never done back to back films with this speed. Vignesh Shiva is presently working on Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal, starring Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara and Samantha. The other details of his project with Ajith have not come out.

For the First time Government announces a leave to watch the movie

We often hear some software employees and students asking leave for big film releases. And we also saw few of the companies granting permission for employees on star hero film release days. But have you heard anytime that a state government announcing leave to watch a movie. No, Right? But Assam government did it for the movie “The Kashmir Files”.

Assam Government announced half day leave for all the government employees to watch #TheKashmirFiles in theatres. The Kashmir Files directed by Vivek Agnihotri  is getting praised everywhere. Public’s WOM made this a sensational hit. Though some controversies running around in some parts, people are talking about the movie all over India.

Haryana, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Goa, Karnataka, Tripura, Uttara Pradesh and Uttarakhand government’s announced The Kashmir Files as Tax Free. Assam took one step forward and announced half day leave for all the employees to watch the movie.

Pelli SandaD OTT and satellite deal finally closed

Roshan and Sree Leela starrer Pelli SandaD has been one of the surprise successes of recent times. The romantic drama was panned by critics for being outdated. However, the audience lapped up the movie and the music of the film had a major role to play in it. The movie also got Roshan and Sree Leela great recognition and the young actors are now flooded with offers.

After its successful theatrical run, Pelli SandaD is now all set for its OTT debut. The makers have recently closed the deal for its streaming and satellite rights with Zee5 which bought the rights for a cool Rs 7 crore. The film also marked the acting debut of ace director K Raghavendra Rao.

K Raghavendra Rao himself has done direction supervision for the film. Incidentally, it was Srikanth who played the lead role in the original Pelli Sandadi again directed by K Raghavendra Rao in 1996.

This family entertainer is also packed with a huge supporting cast. Gowri Ronanki has directed this film that stars, Rao Ramesh, Prakash Raj, Rajendra Prasad, Vennela Kishore among others. MM Keeravani has composed the tunes for the film and it is produced by Madhavi Kovelamudi, Shobhu Yarlagadda, Prasad Devineni.

Late Kannada Superstar Puneeth Rajkumar’s last movie James is coming on 17th March on occasion of his birthday. Fans are eagerly waiting to see their hero’s last movie in theatres. James is releasing in huge number of screens in all area. In Karnataka the advance bookings of the film are sensational. The film is likely to create the record opening at the Box office.

James is releasing in about 4000 screens worldwide. In few places advance bookings are opened and all the tickets are sold out even five days before the release. This shows how eagerly fans are waiting to see their favourite hero.

James is releasing in Kannada, Tamil, Hindi, Telugu and Malayalam languages. In Karnataka alone, the film is releasing in more than 400 theatres.

Priya Anand plays the female lead. Sarath Kumar, Srikanth Aditya Menon, comedian Sadhu Kokila and Anu Prabhakar are playing key roles in the movie. Directed by Chetan Kumar and produced by Kishore Pathikonda, the late actor’s elder brother Shivarajkumar has dubbed for Puneeth in the film.

KGF 2 and Salaar are the next big pan India films coming from the sensational director Prashanth Neel. KGF 2 is all set to release on 14th April while Salaar is in its last leg of shooting. The rights of both the films are acquired by bengaluru based production house Hombale Films. The interesting news is that Hombale films came up with a great business idea of selling both the films at a time. 

The circulating news is that Hombale Films have sold the overseas rights of KGF 2 and Salaar together for a big amount. KGF 2 is the much awaited film as audience have lot of expectations on it. KGF was a sensation and grabbed attention all over India and so people are eagerly waiting for it. Whereas Salaar got good hype as Pan India star Prabhas joined hands with Prashanth Neel. Salaar will have two parts reportedly as like kgf.

Hombale Films are selling KGF 2 and two parts of Salaar as a combined package for record prices. So in fact it is three films they are making deal for. We got to wait for all the three films release to make sure whether this is a good business idea or not.
