RRR Regional Languages are now Streaming in Another OTT Platform also

First time ever in the history, one movie is being streamed on three OTT platforms at once in regional languages. RRR has been one of the prestigious movies in Tollywood with two contemporary stars- NTR and Ram Charan working as leads in it. It can be considered as one of the biggest multistarrers in Telugu movie.

Above all, Rajamouli is the director of this movie post Bahubali. With these many reasons surrounding it, RRR became one of the biggest blockbusters in the country. The movie did very good at box office but it got all the attention from westerners after getting screamed in Netflix.

RRR initial digital streaming rights were given to Zee5. Zee5 covers Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada language of the movie. While Netflix bagged the streaming rights in Hindi. This has turned out to be the best thing happened to RRR. Audience from every age in Western countries loved the movie. It got immense reach and has become quite popular.

Because of this Disney+ Hotstar has took the streaming rights of movie in all the regional languages. Disney+ Hotstar is available internationally and this will further increase the reach of RRR.

Andhra distributors are in turmoil right now as almost every movie is a loss venture. What even more shocking is RRR being one of them. If you see RRR has been quite popular, became a big hit, got the cast and crew a lot of accolades, many more. The Westerners are going gaga over this movie and have been tweeting about it a lot.

Movie got some 1000+cr collections and became one of the biggest hit in 2022. All of these sound very good to hear but do you know that the exhibitors in Andhra didn’t get benefitted from it! In Andhra Pradesh, every movie ended up as a loss venture and this includes RRR too.

Right now, the situation of exhibitors is quite bad. They hvae been facing so many issues with the performance of the movie at the box office. Whilst there are various reasons for this, the people who are getting the most affected are exhibitors.

Producers are considering their movie as a blockbuster despite its poor collections at box office, distributors are hyping up the figures just for the sake of hero’s ego and exhibitors are ending up burning their hands. If this situation keep on continuing, there will be some adverse effects.

థియేటర్లలో విడుదలయ్యే తెలుగు సినిమాలను ఓటీటీలో ఎన్ని వారాల తర్వాత స్ట్రీమింగ్ చేయాలనే విషయంలో గత కొంతకాలంగా చర్చలు జరుగుతున్న సంగతి తెలిసిందే. అయితే ఇటీవల జరిగిన సమావేశంలో తెలుగు సినీ నిర్మాతలు కొన్ని కొత్త నిర్ణయాలు తీసుకున్నారు. చిన్న సినిమాలైతే థియేట్రికల్ రిలీజ్ తరువాత ఆరు వారాల గ్యాప్ తో ఓటిటి రిలీజ్ చేయాలని,అదే పెద్ద సినిమాలైతే కనీసం ఎనిమిది వారాలు ఆగాలని నిర్ణయం తీసుకున్నట్లు వార్తలు వచ్చాయి.

ప్రస్తుతం సినిమా విడుదలైన తర్వాత నాలుగో వారంలోగా ఓటీటీలో సినిమాలు స్ట్రీమింగ్ అవుతున్నాయి. కొన్ని సినిమాలైతే నెల రోజుల తర్వాత స్ట్రీమింగ్ అవుతుంటే బాక్సాఫీస్ దగ్గర పరాజయం పాలైన సినిమాలు కొన్ని నాలుగు వారాల కంటే ముందే ఓటీటీలో వచ్చిన సందర్భాలూ ఉన్నాయి. అయితే ఇటీవల కొందరు నిర్మాతలు సినిమాలు థియేటర్లలో విడుదలైన యాభై రోజుల తర్వాత ఎనిమిది వారాల తర్వాత మాత్రమే ఓటీటీలో స్ట్రీమింగ్ చేయాలనే నిబంధన పెట్టుకున్నట్టు వార్తలు వచ్చిన విషయం తెలిసిందే. ఈ నేపథ్యంలో తాజాగా తెలుగు ఫిల్మ్ ఛాంబర్ ఆఫ్ కామర్స్ ఈ సమస్యకు ఒక పరిష్కారం తీసుకు రాబోతోందట.

ఇక ఈ విషయంతో పాటు తెలంగాణ స్టేట్ ఫిల్మ్ ఛాంబర్ ఆఫ్ కామర్స్ ప్రస్తుతం సినిమా టిక్కెట్ రేట్ల విషయంలో ఉన్న గందరగోళాన్ని కూడా పొగొట్టే ప్రయత్నం చేస్తుందని సమాచారం. ఇటీవలి కాలంలో తెలుగు సినిమా టికెట్ రేట్లు భారీగా పెరిగిన విషయం తెలిసిందే. ఒక్కో సినిమాకి పెంచుతూ తగ్గుతూ ఏదో చిన్న పిల్లల ఆటలా తయారయింది మొత్తం వ్యవహారం.

అందుకే ఈ పరిస్థితిని చక్కదిద్దేందుకు తెలంగాణ స్టేట్ ఫిల్మ్ ఛాంబర్ ఆఫ్ కామర్స్ కొన్ని సవరణలు చేసినట్లు తెలుస్తోంది. ఈ క్రమంలో .. చిన్న సినిమాలను ఎ, బి సెంటర్స్ లో రూ. 100, 125 రూపాయలకు, సి సెంటర్స్ లో రూ. 70, 125 రూపాయలకు ప్రదర్శించాలని పేర్కొందిట. అలానే మీడియా బడ్జెట్ మూవీస్ ను ఎ, బి సెంటర్స్ లో రూ. 112, 177కు, సి సెంటర్స్ లో రూ. 100, 177కు ప్రదర్శించాలని తేల్చిందని సమాచారం. ఇక బిగ్ బడ్జెట్ మూవీస్ ను అయితే ఎ, బి సెంటర్స్ లో రూ. 177, 295, సి సెంటర్స్ లో రూ. 150, 295కు ప్రదర్శించాల్సి ఉంటుందని తెలిపినట్లు చెప్తున్నారు. అంటే ఇప్పుడు ఆర్ ఆర్ ఆర్ సినిమాలు తప్ప మిగతా సినిమాల టికెట్ రేట్లు ప్రేక్షకుల అందుబాటులోకి వస్తాయి అన్నమాట.

అయితే టికెట్ రేట్ల తగ్గింపుపై కుదిరిన ఏకాభిప్రాయం షూటింగ్ లను ఆపేసే విషయంలో మాత్రం కుదరలేదని పలువురు నిర్మాతలు ఈ విషయం పై విభేదించారని తెలిసింది. భేటీ అనంతరం ఒక ప్రముఖ నిర్మాత మాట్లాడుతూ.. సినిమా షూటింగ్ ల నిలుపుదల పై ఎలాంటి నిర్ణయం తీసుకోలేదని స్పష్టం చేశారు.అంతే కాకుండా సినిమా రంగ సమస్యలపై ప్రత్యేక కమిటీని ఏర్పాటు చేశామని, ఆ కమిటీ ఈ నెల 27న ఫిలిం ఛాంబర్ అధ్యక్షుడి ఆధ్వర్యంలో కమిటీ భేటీ అవుతుందని ఆయన తెలిపారు. అయితే తుది నిర్ణయం మాత్రం కమిటీ తీర్మానించినదే ఉంటుందని అంటున్నారు.

అలాగే ఈ సమావేశంలో ఓటిటి విడుదలకు ఇవ్వాల్సిన సమయం గురించి ఎవరి అభిప్రాయాల్ని వారు వెల్లడించారే కానీ ఈ సమస్యపై నిర్మాతలు ఏకాభిప్రాయానికి రాలేదని తెలుస్తోంది. దీనిపై మరోసారి చర్చించనున్నారట.

New director Has Been Roped In for DJ Tillu Sequel?

DJ Tillu has been one of those movies that will leave audience in awe. The movie came in as a small film shot with nominal budget and created a sensation among the audience. The Telangana slang, Sidhu’s character, and everything about this movie has been top notch.

Ravi Teja’s Ramarao On Duty will release on 29th July and trade circles are praying for the movie’s success. Tollywood is currently in a low phase with a string of box-office failures hitting the screens in the last couple of months.

In such a condition, distributors and exhibitors are hoping that this film gets off to a rocking start and manages to pull the audience to theatres.  The movie’s theatrical rights are valued at Rs 18Cr and if the film gets positive talk definitely it is achievable.

Critically acclaimed film Rocketry is now streaming on OTT

R Madhavan’s Rocketry is now streaming on OTT. The film was released in theatres worldwide on 1st July and received rave reviews. Madhavan’s performance as ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan earned him great accolades.

Rocketry follows the journey of the senior scientist and the ups and downs of his life. Madhavan himself directed this project and he has been working quite hard on it for the last few years. He termed Rocketry as his dream project.

Nambi Narayanan was wrongly accused of espionage even after contributing immensely to Indian space research activities. It took him around two decades of enduring legal battle to prove his innocence. R Madhavan took this upon himself to tell this tragic story to the world

The biographical drama film is now streaming in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam on Amazon Prime Video. The film also stars Simran as Nambi Narayanan’s wife. Shahrukh Khan in Hindi and Suriya in Tamil version have made their cameos. Apart from directing this film, Madhavan has also taken charge of writing it and even produced it.

Producers council proposes a new rule for OTT release

Tollywood has witnessed a series of unsuccessful films in the recent past. Films like Ante Sundaraniki, Pakka Commercial, The Warrior, Thank You, Virata Parvam, and Happy Birthday have all failed to match audience expectations. The poor box-office numbers have made trade circles quite anxious. In addition to this, immediate OTT release has also made things quite difficult for distributors and exhibitors.

This is why the Tollywood producers council has decided to regulate the OTT releases time frame as well. Small budget movies within Rs 6 crores budget can be released on OTT after 4 weeks. Similarly, a proposal has been made that for medium and high-budget films 10 weeks of a gap should be maintained for OTT and theatrical release.

With films releasing on OTT anyhow, audiences are being extremely choosy on what movies to watch and what to avoid. This has made things quite tough for filmmakers. In addition to this, the ticket prices hike is also a reason for many family audiences choosing to wait for the movies to stream online.

With so many factors contributing to poor trade, it needs to be seen if just increasing this gap will help the filmmakers or not

Ravi Teja’s Ramarao On Duty is all set to hit the screens this week and the recently released trailer has created a good buzz for the film. While we have seen a series of box-office disasters in the last couple of months, fans and film lovers are hoping this action entertainer can change the trend.

Meanwhile, director Sarath Mandava speaking at the pre-release event asked the film lovers to use their own judgment and not that of Twitter.

With each passing day, Acharya is turning out to be more and more disastrous. When Acharya was released in theatres, it was unanimously regarded as a disaster by audiences. But what was even worse was the drama surrounding the film.

On one hand, people were blaming Chiranjeevi for meddling with the script and changing the storyline to his advantage. On the other hand, fans of Ram Charan and Chiranjeevi blamed Koratala Siva for making such a forgettable film.
