Salaar producer confirms the sequel and release plans

Prabhas’ action thriller Salaar is going to enthrall the audience in two parts. There were rumours about a two-part release for quite some time. And now these rumours have been confirmed by the producer himself. Fans are eagerly waiting to see Prabhas in an out-and-out commercial and action role.

Due to the massive positive buzz for the movie, Hombale Films have decided to extend the budget of the film. The makers have decided to utilize and market Prabhas’s craze and have decided to increase the budget by about 15-20%. Hence, going for the movie in two parts seems to be a commercially viable option for makers.

Hombale films are producing this much-awaited pan India project. Salaar also stars Shruti Haasan opposite Prabhas. Ravi Basrur is composing the music marking his fourth collaboration with Prashanth Neel after Ugram, KGF:1, and KGF:2.

As of now, nearly 30% of the shoot has been completed and Prabhas will soon be back on sets to resume the remaining portion. Salaar is slated to release in summer 2023 while the sequel will come one year after that.

Allu Arjun’s Pushpa has been one of the biggest success stories of the last year. Pushpa The Rise had turned out to be Super Hit when we consider overall revenue from multiple languages. Theatrical Rights of the film were at ₹145.5 Crs and it recovered 120% of its business. While the movie didn’t perform as expected in Telugu states, its overall run in the other areas successfully made the movie a super hit.

However, the biggest achievement of Pushpa was the cultural impact it had both on social media as well as off it. The dialogues, steps, and mannerisms from the movie have become a part of public life.

Allu Arjun’s Pushpa managed to continue the same feat on the small screen as well. The action entertainer managed to register an impressive TRP of 22.5 during its world TV premiere on Star MAA. The Icon Star is now the only actor to have 3 movies with 20 + TRP on their TV premiere. DJ and Ala Vaikunthapurramulo are the other two movies in this list.

Pushpa: The Rise registered a similar success on its debut on its OTT streaming premiere. The movie was released on Amazon Prime Video on January 7th and climbed up the trending charts effortlessly.

RRR Movie brings the biggest festival in Telugu states

Finally, the day has come that we all have been waiting for! In a few hours, RRR movie will be ours to watch, marvel at, and enjoy. RRR is undoubtedly one of the most ambitious projects of Indian cinema. It has seen countless delays and hurdles before coming in front of the audience.

The arrival of RRR movie is nothing short of a festival in the Telugu states. And to welcome this magnum opus, the celebrations started quite early. Theatre premises are decked with massive banners and cutouts of Rajamouli, Jr NTR, and Ram Charan. Crowds are flocking to theatres for tickets and the celebrations and building up by every hour.

The celebrations are in a never-before scale and fans of both Tarak and Charan are eager to catch their heroes on screen after years. Tarak was last seen on the big screen in the 2018 film Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava. Charan, on the other hand was last seen in the 2019 film Vinaya Vidheya Rama.

RRR slated for release tomorrow on 25 March. The advance bookings are huge in Telugu states. The kind of hype film is carrying is also unprecedented in AP/TS. Top stars of industry doing a multi-starrer also added up to the expectations. Rajamouli being the director even made it very star studded film considering his craze with Bahubali series.

From Magadheera, Rajamouli films created all time opening day recrods in 8 territories of AP/TS. Bahubali still holds the highest opening day record. RRR is set to break this record by a margin in all territories which is mindblowing. This has become a brand in recent times. Rajamouli makes sure his every film becomes a brand. Now he has done the same again. The theatrical business of the film touched the 500 crore mark worldwide. The film already crossed major record in advance bookings in Hyderabad city alone. RRR crossed the 7 cr booking mark in Hyderabad. Pushpa and Radhe Shyam which released as Pan-Indian biggies managed to not even 5 crores. Bheemla Nayak too did the same.

With this one thing is clear that no hero can match the brand of Rajamouli craze in Telugu states. Rajamouli’s next film is tentatively with Mahesh Babu. This film will go on sets after Mahesh Babu finishes his current film, Sarkaru Vaari Paata.

RRR is releasing world wide on 25th March all over the world. Out of India, our movies will perform well at US, UK, Australia and Gulf countries. The pre release business was excellent and all the distributors are ready for the release. Everyone is eyeing to release in maximum number of theatres and in all possible languages. So that they can gain good profits in the first few days itself. But the distributor in Gulf Cooperation Council is thinking in a different way.

If we observe the RRR shows and timings in GCC, it is understood that the distributor has different strategy in mind. Hindi version shows starts in GCC from 09:30 PM tomorrow. Whereas Telugu and other languages are releasing in GCC on Saturday, 26th March. Especially in UAE, Telugu & other languages are releasing on Sunday, 27th March.

We the Telugu audience or Indian film lovers cannot resist ourselves watching the much hyped star hero movie on the first day. So it looks like the distributor in GCC wants to cash on that. The distributor is expecting movie lovers especially Telugu audience to watch the movie in Hindi on the first day and then again the Telugu version later on weekend. As Rajamouli already hinted that as soon as one finishes watching RRR, he will wish to watch it again. So We have to see how the strategy of GCC distributor works.

Young director Prashant Varma is known to come up with unique concepts. He also has a good track record at the box office with films like Zombie Reddy and has also garnered critical acclaim for his debut film Awe. While this is a great sign for Tollywood in the days to come, there’s something that is making Prashant the butt of many jokes.

The young director is an ambitious professional and has now chosen a collective name for his films. The movies coming under his direction will be referred as ‘Prashant Varma Cinematic Universe’. These upcoming films include Teja Sajja starrer Hanuman and Dasari Kalyan starrer ‘Adhira’.

Both these films are superhero concept-oriented and will see Teja as well as Kalyan holding special powers. However, naming these movies as ‘Prashant Varma Cinematic Universe’ just like Marvel Cinematic Universe is amusing netizens.

At ‘Adhira’ poster launch attended by RRR team, many were shocked to see Prashant Varma Cinematic Universe on the poster. This attracted multiple trolls and memes on the young director. Prashant however is clear that he aims high and would make epic films that would truly make Tollywood proud.

Ajith’s last film Valimai was a massive success in Tamil Nadu and completed his hat-trick hits. Valimai, along with Nerkonda Parvai and Viswasam have now further cemented ‘Thala’ as one of the biggest crowd-pullers in Tamil Nadu. This is why, for his upcoming film with Lyca Productions, he is being offered a record remuneration.

Ajith has already signed this project to be directed by Vignesh Shivan and as per reports, he is being paid a whopping Rs 100 crores. While many eyebrows are being raised at this deal, his form at the box office and craze for his films on TV and OTT makes this deal reasonable.

Valimai is the best example of Ajith’s stardom and hold on the masses. The film received mixed talk but recorded massive openings at the box office. The action entertainer even crossed Rs.30 crs share worldwide on its opening day.

While Valimai witnessed drops during weekdays, it picked up in the second weekend with repeat views from families. Star power of Ajith pulled this average film well enough making 150 cr gross worldwide after the third weekend. Valimai grossed more than 100 crores in Tamil Nadu alone highlighting his star power yet again.

RRR is just one day away. The big budget pan India movie is all set for the biggest ever release. Though the movie got huge craze all over India, the celebrations in Telugu states will be next level. The hunt for tickets is already begin in all places of Telugu states. Every one is eagerly waiting for their first show. And all are waiting for RRR’s first day first show.

Governments of Telugu states granted permission to screen five shows in a day. It is heard that distributors took special permission for the paid premiers in Hyderabad. Special paid premieres will be screened in Bramarambha, Mallikharjuna, Vishwanath, Arjun, Sreeramulu and Vijetha theatres at 1 AM. Star producer Naga Vamsi along with his friends bought the six benefit shows of Hyderabad for a whooping price of 1 crore.

The latest info is that mega fans bought two benefit shows for a huge amount by paying the advance. Now the buyers are in dilemma as the star producer has not confirmed timings yet. The mega fans are complaining that the sellers after taking advance have come up with shocking conditions. They are forcing them to add NTR and sponsors photo on Tickets. On the other hand they were informed that the permission is not granted for these shows.

With no other option the Mega fans have to cancel their deal and demanding their advance back. So it looks like all 6 shows are with Naga Vamsi only. As the buyers spent a lot of money, they have to sell the tickets at higher prices to make profits. But it is not easy for the fans to buy the ticket at  a price of 3000 or 5000 per ticket. Producer Naga Vamsi has promised the fans that the shows will begin either from 1AM or 2AM but Nizam distributor Dil Raju has finalized all the shows from 4AM only. Now the young producer is in huge risk to sell the tickets for those 6 shows.

Anirudh played a key role in the movie’s success with his great album and background score as well. So the director want to work with him again for his next big project with Ram charan. RC 16 is tentatively a racy commercial entertainer. It’s heard that RC 15 directed by Shankar is also trying to rope Anirudh. So official confirmation is yet to come to know which will be the first Anirudh – Ram Charan’s movie. Let’s wait for the official confirmation from RC 15 and RC 16.

Audience used to decide to watch a movie based on the name of the hero. And we all used to call this movie as so and so hero’s movie. Though some directors tried to show their mark but it remained for only few films. But now there is a director who changed that trend. All his movies are blockbusters. He has his stamp on all his films. That’s S S Rajamouli for you. He has become the face of the Indian directors. Whereas his movie Baahubali is the pride of Indian cinema.

Rajamouli’s Baahubali has created all time records for Telugu cinema. No other Indian film broke those records. Only one film did almost 60% more than Baahubali. It is none other than Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2. From then again no other Indian movie has touched those records. Hence Tollywood industry comes up with the term Non Baahubali Industry hit. It is only Rajamouli that can break his records.

Now RRR is surely to break Baahubali2 Telugu version with the huge buzz created now and the massive business it is been doing. So it is fair to change the term from Non Baahubali to Non SSR records.
