తెలుగు సినిమాకు ఊపిరి పోసిన బింబిసార – సీతారామం

వరుస ఫ్లాపులతో దిక్కుతోచని పరిస్థితిలో ఉన్న తెలుగు సినిమా పరిశ్రమకు కొంత కాలం తరువాత మంచి రోజులు రానే వచ్చాయి. మునుపటిలా ప్రేక్షకులు మళ్ళీ సినిమాలు చూడరా.. విజయాలు అనేవి ఇంక తెలుగు సినిమాకు అందని ద్రాక్షగా మిగిలిపోతుందా ? వంటి ప్రశ్నలకు ఈ శుక్రవారం రిలీజ్ అయిన సినిమాలు సంతృప్తికరమైన ఫలితాన్ని ఇచ్చాయి.

గత కొంత కాలంగా చాలా ధీనావస్థలో కొట్టు మిట్టాడుతున్న పరిశ్రమకు కొత్త ఉత్సాహాన్నిచ్చాయి. ఈ ఏడాది ఫిబ్రవరిలో డీజే టిల్లు వంటి బ్లాక్ బస్టర్ తరువాత.. మార్చిలో ‘RRR’ వంటి ప్యాన్ ఇండియా సినిమాతో బాక్స్ ఆఫీస్ వద్ద సంచలనాలు సృష్టించడమే కాకుండా ప్రపంచ వ్యాప్తంగా వ్యాప్తంగా వద్ద రికార్డుల మోత మోగించింది. దాంతో పాటు అపారమైన గౌరవాన్ని, పేరు ప్రఖ్యాతలు సంపాదించుకుంది.

అయితే ఆ తరువాత నుంచి భారీ పరాజయాలతో ఒక్కో సినిమా ఫ్లాప్ అవుతూ ఇండస్ట్రీని సంక్షోభంలోకి నెట్టేశాయి.

ఇక ఎట్టకేలకు ఈ శుక్రవారం విడుదలైన సినిమాలు బింబిసార, సీతారామం. అందరి చూపు ఈ రెండు సినిమాల పైనే.. కనీసం ఈ సినిమాలైనా విజయాలు సాధించి పరిశ్రమకు ఊపిరి పోస్తే బాగుంటుందనే అభిప్రాయం అందరిలోనూ ఉండగా రెండు చిత్రాలు ఆ నమ్మకాన్ని నిలబెట్టాయి.

నందమూరి కల్యాణ్ రామ్ నటించిన చారిత్రాత్మక నేపథ్యం గల ‘బింబిసార’, దుల్కర్ సల్మాన్ నటించిన మ్యాజికల్ లవ్ స్టోరీ ప్రేక్షకులను ఆకట్టుకున్నాయి.

కల్యాణ్ రామ్ నపటించిన ‘బింబిసార’ 5వ దశాబ్దానికి చెందిన బింబిసారుడిని ప్రధాన పాత్రలో తెరకెక్కింది. మల్లిడి వశిష్ట దర్శకుడిగా పరిచయమైన ఈ సినిమా టైమ్ ట్రావెల్ కాన్సెప్ట్ తో సరికొత్త నేపథ్యంతో పాటు మాస్ ని అలరించే పోరాట సన్నివేశాలు కూడా వుండటంతో ఈ సినిమాకి ప్రేక్షకులు విజయాన్ని అందించారు. చాలా కాలంగా సరైన హిట్ కోసం ఎదురుచూస్తున్న కల్యాణ్ రామ్ కు భారీ విజయాన్ని దక్కింది. ఎన్నో ఏళ్ల తరువాత థియేటర్ల వద్ద హౌజ్ ఫుల్ బోర్డులు కనిపించడం విశేషం. తొలిరోజు కలెక్షన్ల తోనే ఈ సినిమా దాదాపు యాభై శాతం రికవరీ సాధించి అందరినీ ఆశ్చర్య పరిచింది.

ఇక దుల్కర్ సల్మాన్ మరియు మృణాల్ ఠాకూర్ నటించిన ‘సీతారామం’ రెండు కాలమానాల నేపథ్యంలో సాగే కల్పిత ప్రేమగాథగా తెరకెక్కింది. దర్శకుడు హను రాఘవపూడి ఈ సినిమాని నడిపించిన తీరు చక్కని అనుభూతిని కలిగించడంతో పాటు ఆహ్లాదకరమైన విజువల్స్, వీనులవిందైన సంగీతం.. అలాగే వైజయంతి బ్యానర్ నిర్మాణ విలువలు కలగలిపి ఓ అందమైన సినిమాగా నిలబెట్టాయి. మొదట్లో మరీ స్లోగా నడిచిన భావన కలిగినా.. సీతారాముల ప్రేమకథను ప్రవేశ పెట్టిన విధానం సినిమాని నిలబెట్టింది. ఈ సినిమా కూడా తొలిరోజు కలెక్షన్లతో పాతిక వంతు రికవరీ సాధించింది.

మొత్తానికి అటు బింబిసార’ ఇటు ‘సీతారామం’.. రెండు సినిమాలు కూడా టాలీవుడ్ వాటి పై పేరుకున్న అంచనాలను అందుకుని విజయం సాధించి కొండంత అండగా నిలిచాయి.

Bimbisara’s success has got the entire industry thrilled and joyous. After Megastar Chiranjeevi, Allu Arjun penned down a note congratulating Kalyan Ram and Mallidi Vasishta on the movie’s success.

Bimbisara almost achieves breakeven in Nizam in just 2 Days

Kalyan Ram’s Bimbisara has created a storm at the box office and is seeing great occupancies everywhere. The film had an excellent opening day and received positive reviews. It continued the same momentum on Day 2 as well.

The 2 day gross of Bimbisara now stands at Rs 3.9 crores and the movie has almost achieved breakeven. Dil Raju bought the theatrical rights of the film at Rs 4 crores. The movie is generating profits for all the territories and is running to packed houses in most centers.

This Kalyan Ram starter already made a recovery of 45% on Day 1 and is projected to put much better numbers over the weekend.

Set in 500 BC, the fantasy action film follows the story of Bimbisara (Kalyan Ram) who is a cruel and power-hungry king who takes extreme measures to suppress any dissent in his kingdom.

It was Dil Raju who started the whole shooting ban issue stating TFI collectively needs to reduce the budget to register box-office success. He claimed that the only way to cut down on the budget is by slashing the remunerations of star heroes and directors.

It was also argued that the audience are not showing interest in movies like before and to cut down on losses, production costs through remunerations should be cut. Raju’s own movie Thank You tanked miserably and F3 didn’t perform as per expectations.

However, the release of Bimbisara and Sita Ramam this week has changed everything. The success of these movies shows that the audience is still willing to go to the theatres if the content is good. The trade is really happy and audiences are coming to the theatres registering solid occupancies.

Most producers are now convinced that if films of heroes like Kalyan Ram and Dulquer Salmaan’s are able to bring the audience to theatres then why not other heroes’ films? One thing has become clear now- The audience needs good content and there is no need to stop the shootings. The producers are planning to go against Dil Raju and to start the shootings as they realised the budget will be recovered if the content is good.

With less than a week left for the release of Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha, the advance bookings have been opened and the response is shockingly poor. Unlike usual Aamir Khan films, Laal Singh Chaddha seems to have no buyers among the audiences.

Aamir’s two previous films Dangal and Secret Superstar are both record-breaking films. They have become one of the highest-grossing Indian films of all time. But, going by the bookings of Laal Singh Chaddha, it seems unlikely that it will join this list.

This is largely due to the boycott campaign of Laal Singh Chaddha on social media, especially on Twitter. With tweets such as #BoycottLaalSinghChaddha trending all over India. Going by the current trend, the film will have a slower start for sure.

But, Aamir has a strong fanbase of his own that will support him as long as the content is good. Hopefully, this unnecessary hate brigade stops, and positive word of mouth helps the film to pull in skeptics. Aamir Khan is one of India’s finest actors and branding him as an anti-nationalist just for the heck of it seems unfair.

Laal Singh Chaddha releases in theatres on 13th August. It also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Naga Chaitanya, and Manav Vij in crucial roles. It is an official adaption of the American cult classic Forrest Gump, adapted to the Indian version by Atul Kulkarni. Advaith is the director of the film and Aamir has produced the movie himself.

Nandamuri Kalyan Ram’s Bimbisara was released in theatres and has opened to fantastic numbers at the box office. The fantasy drama has successfully managed to pull audiences back into the theatres and has been instrumental in the revival of the theatrical market.

Ram’s The Warrior is now all set for its OTT release later this month. The film that was released on 15th July was packed with commercial elements and Aadhi Pinnisetty and Ram’s performances were well received. Directed by Lingusamy, Ram’s The Warrior is a bilingual that was released in Tamil along with Telugu. The action entertainer will now release on Hotstar on August 11th.

Dulquer Salmaan, Mrunal Thakur, and Rashmika Mandanna starrer Sita Ramam released yesterday amidst positive reviews and good word of mouth. However, this was not enough for the film to set the box office on fire and the film had an average day 1 with just Rs 2.5 crores collected worldwide.

Day 2 however, saw great improvement and positive talk led to better occupancies. The film is now able to draw the audience to the theatres which is a great sign for Hanu Raghavapudi, Aswini Dutt, and the unit.

Sita Ramam is collecting more on Day 2 than Day 1 in many A centers. Overall, the film should be able to post much better numbers than Day 1 if it performs equally strong in 2nd shows as it did till the first shows.

Advance bookings for evening and night shows are very good in all A centers. This period romantic drama might have its best day at box office on Sunday. Dulquer Salmaan’s chemistry with Mrunal Thakur and Rashmika’s performance have been well appreciated by all.
