వరంగల్ శ్రీను డిస్ట్రిబ్యూటర్ గా చేసుకున్న ఒప్పందం ప్రకారం ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్‌లో 20 కోట్లు పరిహారం ఇవ్వాల్సి ఉంది, కానీ ఆయన ప్రస్తుతం అంత డబ్బుని ఇచ్చే పరిస్థితుల్లో లేరు. ఇప్పటికే ఆచార్య, విరాట పర్వం వంటి సినిమాల వల్ల భారీ నష్టాలు ఎదుర్కొంటున్న తరుణంలో, ఇప్పుడు లైగర్ రూపంలో మరిన్ని తీవ్ర నష్టాలను చవిచూశారు.

Vijay Deverakonda’s Liger has been the talk of the town and for all the wrong reasons. Ever since the release on August 25th, Liger has been subject to rigorous trolling and hate. The film also crashed at the box office and posted disastrous collections. As a result of this, there are a lot of losses that need to be compensated for.

Excluding the East Godavari region, all the other areas’ business has been done on a recovery basis. Only East Godavari’s business has been done on an NRA basis. Warangal Srinu, who bought the entire South India rights of Liger is in a lot of loss right now due to Liger.

Warangal Srinu has to compensate 20 crores in Andhra Pradesh according to the distributor deals but he is not in the best of states. He has had back-to-back losses in the form of Acharya, Virata Parvam, and now Liger.

Puri Jagannadha and Charmee Kaur also have to compensate for the losses. It is to be seen how much they pack back Warangal Srinu. There are a lot of distributors who are waiting on Warangal Srinu for some compensation. They also want to settle the amounts right now and not wait for profit deals with other films.

First Day First Show And Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga Public Review And Talk

After the disaster that was Liger, there are now 2 new Telugu movies that have hit the big screens. The first is First Day First Show, which has been written by Jathi Ratnalu fame Anudeep KV and the second is Vaishnav Tej’s romantic comedy Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga.

Here is the public review and talk from the premiere shows of both films. First Day First Show tried to be a lot of things but ended up as a tedious watch for audiences. The attempt was to create the magic of Jathi Ratnalu but it failed miserably in all aspects.

The audience complained that there was not one scene where they were entertained. Although Anudeep wrote the story, the film was directed by Vamshidar Goud and Lakshminarayana. Jathi Ratnalu had gems in the form of Naveen, Rahul Ramakrishna, and Priyadarsi. First Day First Show failed to showcase any gems.

Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga was no different either. The movie had a watchable first half and a disastrous 2nd half. The movie failed to impress the audience and is heading toward a disaster.

Overall, both films have failed to make any impact and the buzz is also minimal. With the negative reviews, there are high chances for a washout. Like Chiranjeevi said in the pre-release event for First Day First Show, people will only come to the theatres as long as the content is good.

Chiyaan Vikram’s sci-fi drama Cobra was released in theatres on August 31st and opened to great opening day collections at the box office. Due to the decent hype around the movie, the opening day numbers were promising. It was also the second highest for Vikram after Shankar’s I movie.

But after an excellent opening day, Cobra seems to have lost its venom. The collections have plummeted in the Telugu states, with the day 2 collections closing in at 15-20% of the Day 1 collection. Even the Tamil version of the film witnessed a 50-60% drop in collections.

However, the makers are hoping that the film will pick up in the coming days due to the holiday advantage. Since Cobra was released on Wednesday, an average Thursday performance should not be that concerning. Having said that, the film needs to pick up pace today. Otherwise, it will end up becoming a flop at the box office.

The makers have also trimmed 40 minutes of the film by removing some unwanted scenes. They are hoping that this is enough to pull the audiences to the theatres.

Cobra has been directed by Ajay Gnanamuthu and produced by Lalit Kumar. The film also stars Srinidhi Shetty, Irfan Pathan, Mrinalini Ravi, and Roshan Matthew among others. AR Rahman is the music director of the film.

Tollywood Film Chamber Announces Strict Rules About OTT, Satellite Deals, And Artist Payments

Over the last few months, the Telugu Film Chamber Of Commerce has been laying some ground rules for the better functioning of the industry. A few weeks ago even they decided to stop the shooting of films until issues were resolved in the industry.

The chamber has now met again and discussed some key points regarding OTT, satellite deals as well as artists’ payments. The meeting was held at the Telugu Film Chamber Of Commerce in the Dr.Ramanaidu building complex. Points were discussed with stakeholders and all parties involved and the following rules were laid out.

Production Of Films

There will be no per-day payment to any artists’ or technicians. All the artists’ remunerations shall include staff, local transport, local accommodation, and special food. The amount should also be finalized by the producer beforehand and no payment should be made directly to the artist except the agreed initial amount as remuneration.

All the fee details must be entered before the commencement of the shooting to the Chamber. The Chamber will verify the details only after which shooting can be carried out. Strict implementation of daily call sheet timings must also be carried out and the producer should maintain a report of the same.

OTT

The Chamber has been very strict with its rules regarding OTT and there is no change this time around. They have made it very clear that the minimum window for OTT release is 8 weeks regardless of the film’s fate at the box office.

The Chamber also made it very clear that no film shall share their digital/satellite partner in the main title card or use it for theatrical publicity.

Theatrical/Exhibition

VPF Talks are still ongoing and a decision will be made soon. The chamber was supposed to discuss this on 3rd September but it has been pushed to 6th September. The same percentage of VPF will be given in Andhra multiplexes as given in Telangana.

Federation

The Chamber is still discussing this and a final conclusion will be made very soon. The approved and finalized rate cards will be shared with all the production houses very soon.

While Vikrant Rona is an action-adventure thriller, Wanted Pandugadu is also an action-thriller but removes all the action and thrill.

Vikrant Rona was released on a massive scale in theatres in Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu as well as Malayalam. It was shot on a massive budget with exquisite sets. It was the first Kannada movie to release in 3D as well. The movie was mostly well received by the audiences but ended up becoming an average venture for the makers. Wanted Pandugadu on the other hand is an over-the-top silly comedy that attempts to be an action thriller. Chiyaan Vikram’s Cobra was released in theatres on August 31st in theatres and opened to mixed reports and impressive first-day collections at the box office. While the collections were good due to the hype, the word of mouth was mixed due to the runtime of the film.

The audiences felt that 183 minutes was a very lengthy runtime for a sci-fi thriller movie. While Vikram’s performance received a lot of applause, the runtime was the main culprit. In view of this, the makers have decided to adopt some changes to win over the audiences.

The makers have taken a bold decision to cut short the film by about 40 minutes. The movie has been trimmed from 183 minutes to 144 minutes now. After complaints from the audience about unwanted scenes, the makers decided to remove such scenes to make a sharper film.

The trimmed version of Cobra will be screened from today’s evening shows. This is an attempt to bring disinterested audiences back into the theatres. Since the only major complaint was the runtime and some unnecessary scenes, people might come to the theatres to watch Vikram’s magic on the big screen.

Cobra also stars Srinidhi Shetty, Irfan Pathan, Mrinalini Ravi, Roshan Matthew, and KS Ravikumar among others. Ajay Gnanamuthu is the director of the film and AR Rahman is the music director of the film.
