Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Godfather released last week with mostly positive reviews and appreciation for Chiranjeevi’s and Satyadev’s performance. Mega fans had set heavy expectations for the film but the movie failed to open to big numbers and this political drama failed to take advantage of the festive season.

Godfather failed to jump on weekends and the collections are lower than day2 collections. Overall the movie’s Telugu version share is close to 45Cr which is very very disappointing. 45Cr share for a 5 days weekend with Festival advantage is disastrous. The numbers are very poor and looking at the trend, the movie is on course to fall way short of the breakeven mark. The theatricals are valued at 80Cr.

Mohan Raja has directed this remake of the Malayalam blockbuster ‘Lucifer’. The original starred Mohanlal and Prithviraj played a cameo. Nayantara is in a key role alongside Satyadev and Malayalam actor Indrajith Sukumaran. Salman Khan is playing an extended cameo in this project.

After the debacle of Acharya, Chiranjeevi pinned a lot of hopes on this political drama. As admitted by himself during promotions, Godfather is a more commercialized version of Mohanlal’s Malayalam Blockbuster ‘Lucifer’.

Nikhil Siddhartha’s Karthikeya-2 emerged as a blockbuster at the box office. The film was released in problematic situations but eventually, it overcame the hurdles after release with the help of excellent mouth talk from the audience.

Also, the film unexpectedly got a tremendous response from the northern audience and became a blockbuster in the Hindi version too. The film was released in very less theaters but day by day it hiked the count of screens and collected over 30 net crores in the Hindi region.

Karthikeya-2 was released on OTT platform Zee5 on October 5th and it is receiving a very good response. Nikhil is thrilled after he received a lot of appreciation for the response to Karthikeya 2, which was released on ZEE5. He said, “ I am flooded with messages on Instagram. This film has helped me reach new audiences.”

The investigative thriller drama Karthikeya 2 was released in cinemas in August and was a huge blockbuster at the box office as said above. Karthikeya 2 has Anupama Parameswaran as the female lead. The movie has grossed over 100 crores. It is not only the biggest hit in Nikhils career but also in the Telugu film industry too.

The film Karthikeya 2 premiered on ZEE5 this Wednesday. The latest news is that the film Karthikeya 2 created havoc on the OTT platform with the highest views.

The previous highest views record was with RRR. The Pan Indian blockbuster movie registered 64 crores viewed Minutes in 24 hours. Karthikeya- 2 registered 89 crores viewed minutes in 24 hours and it didn’t stop there and garnered about 100 crore streaming minutes within 48 hours.

The movie is produced by Abhishek Agarwal Arts and People Media Factory and it has music by Kaala Bhairava. His soundtracks became another reason for the immense success of the film.

Adipurush teaser has received all kinds of feedback from Prabhas fans, media and industry insiders. While the movie unit has maintained that the movie will be a great experience on the big screen, trolls and negative comments continue to pour in over the shoddy VFX and character looks revealed so far.

Amidst these negative comments, producer NV Prasad has added fuel to the fire by stating Ram Charan is the ideal portrayal of Lord Ram. “Not just the whole country, but the whole world has got an idea of what Lord Ram looks like thanks to Ram Charan and Rajamouli,” said the producer at Godfather’s success meet. The timings of these comments are quite unfortunate and is being seen as an comment on Prabhas and Om Raut.

These unwarranted comparisons have angered Prabhas fans and social media is abuzz with debate on it. Om Raut has been repeatedly requesting patience from fans and media and judge once the movie is in theatres. Already Adipurush is facing criticism for its teaser and NV Prasad’s comments seem like unnecessary provocation and comparison.

Prabhas’ Adipurush will release in January 2023. Prabhas will be seen as Lord Ram in Adipurush while Kriti Sanon will play the role of Sita and Saif Ali Khan is going to be seen as Ravana.

Megastar Chiranjeevi’s movie ‘Godfather’ has released in the theatres on October 5th as a Dussehra gift. This political action drama is a remake of the Malayalam blockbuster ‘Lucifer’. Although it is a remake, many changes have been made to the story keeping in mind the Megastar’s image.

And the changes seem to have impressed the mega fans and audience as well. The film got good appreciation from the audience in the form of reviews also. The Godfather team held a success meet yesterday in which the cast and crew of the movie were present.

In the success meet, Guests and Team Members fired indirectly Garikapati Narasimha Rao For his recent behavior with Chiranjeevi on stage. Lyric writer Ananth Sriram said that being on the stage is not great but behavior should be good, and many understood that it was an indirect dig at Garikapati Narasimha Rao.

In the Telugu film industry, it is an open secret that Megastar Chiranjeevi will involve in his movie’s script works. Some say it’s his passion, some others say it is not correct to involve in the director’s job.

Director Jayam Mohan Raja spoke about this issue in the success meet. He said that no one should say Chiranjeevi is involved in the film, he also said that we are fools if we don’t use Chiranjeevi’s experience.

Director Shankar is back to RC-15 sets from Indian-2 now

Ram Charan and Shankar’s most awaited multilingual project got its shooting kickstarted in Hyderabad in 2021 September with a puja ceremony. The official announcement regarding the same was made by producers Sri Venkateswara Creations back then.

The announcement came with the release of a poster featuring the cast and crew wearing black suits. It includes lead actors Ram Charan, Kiara Advani, director Shankar, producer Dil Raju, music director Thaman, and supporting actors such as Sunil among others. Audience were very excited when they got to know about the combination of Shankar and Ram Charan is happening.

Director Shankar was supposed to finish the shooting of Indian-2 with Kamal Haasan a long time ago but due to some creative differences, the shooting was stopped a while back. Later due to budget issues, it was stopped once again. The makers thought that they could not recover the money spent if they proceed with further shooting.

But after stupendous success of Vikram, the producers were convinced that Kamal can pull the audiences into the theatres and the shooting of Indian-2 resumed again. Eventually RC-15 shooting stopped for a brief period.

Now as per the latest news, it is being said that director Shankar is back to RC-15 sets again. The new shooting schedule will start from Monday (October 10) in Rajahmundry. The schedule is said to be very short one of a 6 days schedule.

After this Shankar is in again plans to go back to the Indian-2 sets and he is trying to get the things complete as soon as possible with regards to the shooting of Indian-2. Let’s wait and see how far this biggest south indian director will manage the shootings of both films at a time.

Ranbir Kapoor’s Brahmastra was released last month and has done decent business so far. The much-hyped Bollywood fantasy adventure film was well appreciated for its VFX and production values. While the film got mixed reviews, its box office opening created several records.

While the film is still running in theatres, Ayan Mukherjee has now revealed the release day for part 2 and part 3 as well. Part 1 meanwhile, has emerged as the highest grosser of Bollywood post-pandemic.

In India, the movie has collected 227Cr nett from the Hindi version and 24Cr net from other versions Total 251Cr nett has been collected in India and the gross is 292Cr, From overseas the movie has collected 110Cr gross overall Worldwide collection is 402 Cr gross.

Brahmastra stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, and Mouni Roy in the lead roles. Ayan Mukherji is the writer as well as the director of the film. Karan Johar has produced the film under the Dharma Productions banner.

Hero Nikhil Siddhartha’s mythological adventure film Karthikeya 2 is streaming digitally on ZEE5 from October 5. The movie did outstanding business in the Telugu States and Hindi markets as well, earning more than Rs 30 crore in the Northern belts is not an easy job.

Karthikeya-2, for its small business, emerged as the highest-grossing movie of Nikhil’s career by collecting more than 100 crores gross worldwide and it achieved almost 300% recovery. The movie was released in the theaters on August 13th. And after 54 days it is released online.

The OTT giant Zee5 has purchased the digital rights of the movie for a whopping price. The movie received an overwhelming response during its theatrical run and was expected to repeat the same and many people in huge numbers turned out to watch it when released online.

But after releasing it in OTT, many of the audience are feeling Karthikeya’s first part is a better film than Karthikeya2. The plot of the movie is centered on finding the truth about Lord Krishna. A section of the audience felt that the movie missed the required thrills of being an adventure-based film.

To be precise the film has received the same kind of response in theatres too. But it did well at the box office with the Karthikeya sequel craze and a huge positive word of mouth.

Mixed opinions regarding films are not new, and there is no doubt that in cases like this always the majority wins.No matter how some audience respond, Karthikeya2 will be remembered as a box office wonder not only for hero Nikhil but for the Telugu film industry too.

Ponniyin Selvan Continues its box office storm and crosses the 350Cr mark

South Indian legendary filmmaker Mani Ratnam’s dream project Ponniyin Selvan-1 based on the eponymous novel by Kalki, continues to perform well at the box office. As per trade sources, the film has earned more than 325 crore gross globally in seven days. Ponniyin Selvan-1 was released in theatres worldwide on September 30 in five languages – Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. The period film is creating new records at the box office with each passing day.

As said above, the movie crossed 325 Cr in the first week and it will cross the 350Cr gross mark by today. The weekend has started on a super strong note and now the movie is heading toward the 400Cr mark. The film is expected to do 500Cr in a full run. This Pan-Indian movie is performing not only in the Tamil version but the Hindi version is also doing very well, The movie has crossed 15Cr net in Hindi.

In the Telugu states, Ponniyin Selvan-1 had a good opening weekend but after that, it crashed totally. It might miss the break-even mark in the Telugu version but that doesn’t take away its huge success overall.

Ponniyin Selvan-1 tells the story of the early life of Arulmozhivarman (Ponniyin Selvan), who later became the Chola emperor Rajaraja I (947–1014). The Tamil audience welcomed this movie with their hearts, they have been waiting a very long time for this movie. We can say that it is not only the dream project of Maniratnam but also the Tamil people’s too.

The film stars Jayam Ravi, Vikram, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai, Trisha, Sobhita Dhulipala, and Aishwarya Lekshmi among others. Ponniyin Selvan-1 marked Aishwarya Rai’s comeback to Tamil cinema after a decade. Aishwarya plays dual roles – Nandini and her mute mother Mandakini Devi.

The second part of Ponniyin Selvan will be released in cinemas next year. Filmmaker Mani Ratnam recently said in a media interaction that he was happy he could make the film into two parts, and release part 1 now as audiences are keen to watch a film in multiple parts.
