FWICE seeks govt support to end Boycott Bollywood trend

The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has shared a statement against the current Boycott Bollywood trend. It requested the government to help against the movement.

Bollywood actor Sunil Shetty recently talked to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to support weaken the Boycott Bollywood movement across the country. Now, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has too issued a statement condemning it.

They appealed to the government to stop the #BoycottBollywood trend and called it ‘hooliganism.’ FWICE claimed that a film involves the labor and hard work of lakhs of people who serve on a film set. FWICE recommended that if someone experiences any issue with a film’s content, they should write about it to the Central Board of Film Certification instead of vandalizing theaters.

In a statement, the federation told, “FWICE strongly condemns the ongoing trend of “#Boycott Bollywood” and seeks immediate protection against the hooliganism in theaters and the threats to the producers. The #Boycott Bollywood trend has raised a major situation of survival of the common workers, technicians, and the artists who are earning their daily bread from this industry.”

Since few years, Bollywood audience have started to talk negatively and boycott almost every film that releases from the industry. Shahrukh Khan’s upcoming film Pathan also faced the heat of the trend as there was an outrage against its first single song Besharam Rang. Politicians and a section of public have felt that the song was obscene and vulgar, dressing if SRK and Deepika insults the Hindu sentiments, they said.

Janhvi Kapoor charging a bomb for Tollywood Films

Janhvi Kapoor’s name is suddenly making some noise in Tollywood circles after she was confirmed as the lead actress for NTR 30. The actress has in past expressed her interest to share the screen with the likes of NTR, Allu Arjun, and Vijay Deverakonda, and finally, it has come true with this ambitious project.

As per reports, the actress is charging a bomb for these Telugu projects. Reportedly Janhvi Kapoor was approached for 2 Tollywood films and she quoted a massive fee for working on these films. The number quoted by her shocked many as it was way higher than that of top actress of Tollywood.

While hiking remuneration is not a new trend in any industry, Janhvi charging a bomb for her first Tollywood film has shocked many. Mrunal Thakur, who is one film old in Tollywood has also hiked her fee but that is majorly due to the massive demand she gained after Sita Ramam. Mrunal is currently charging Rs 1 crore.

Similarly, Rashmika has also hiked her fees to Rs 5 crores after the massive success of Pushpa. While it makes sense in the case of these leading ladies, Janhvi’s undisclosed massive remuneration has stunned many. For the unversed , her last theatrical release Roohi and Mili failed at the box office.

Producer’s shocking update about KGF 3 and KGF franchise

The massive success of KGF has naturally given rise to questions about the next installment- KGF 3. Both Prashanth Neel and producer Vijay Kirgandur have given enough hints about the project definitely being on.

Prashanth Neel is currently working on Prabhas’ Salaar which will take some time to finish. Meanwhile, Hombale Films also has an interesting lineup of films across south Indian industries. So the chances of KGF 3 happening anytime soon are quite slim. Even Yash has revealed that while KGF 3 is definitely on, it will not be his next film.

“Already we have thought of a lot of scenes – me and Prashanth. There are a lot of things that we couldn’t do in KGF2 . So we know there are a lot of possibilities, a lot of kickass scenes are there. But it’s just an idea. And we’ve just left it there right now,” said the Rocking Star on an earlier occasion adding massive hype to the project

Vijay Kirgandur has revealed that KGF 3 will start only in 2025 and not before that. He further added that there are plans to take the franchise till KGF 5. The producer also shared the surprising fact that going forward, there are chances of other actors replacing Yash as Rocky Bhai. This will be quite similar to James Bond series where different actors have portrayed the iconic James Bond character over the years.

Lengthy runtime for Vijay’s Varisu

Thalapathy Vijay’s upcoming film, Varisu, has completed its censor formalities. The film has received a clean U certificate from the Censor Board, and it has a lengthy runtime of 2 hrs 50 mins.

Directed by Vamsi Paidipally, Varisu is said to be a family entertainer, high on emotion and action, which is clear from the trailer. The trailer has received a negative response as Tamil audience didn’t get the feel of a pure Tamil film, whereas Telugu audience felt they have watched so many kinds of films with this storyline.

However, we know Vijay is a superstar, and he can bring his fans and audience to the theaters irrespective of content and expectations.

Moreover, Varisu’s audio launch has trended on social media, thanks to the recent telecast on Sun Television on New Year 2023. Ranjithame song became a chart buster.

Varisu was recently submitted for censoring at the Censor Board of Film Certification. After the screening, the film received a U certificate. Industry sources reveal that the film is now on track for a grand release on January 11.

Although there’s some confusion regarding the release date of Varisu and its Telugu version Vaarasudu, it is being reported that the film’s unit is trying their best to make it deliver both versions on the same date and an official announcement referring to the same is expected soon.

The film features Thalapathy Vijay, Rashmika Mandanna and Prakash Raj in lead roles. Sarathkumar, Srikanth Meka, Shyam, Jayasudha and Yogi Babu will be seen in supporting roles. Varisu has music composed by S Thaman.

Waltair Veerayya:
