Samantha’s latest movie Yashoda released this week and got good talk, it’s weekend box office performance was excellent across Telugu and Tamil languages. Critics also appreciated the movie’s technical elements. However, the movie is a bit struggling at the box office during weekdays.

It has seen some dip in the collections on weekdays. The superb momentum that was seen on the weekend got slowed down on weekdays. As November is a lean season for box office, the drop is understandable.

In Telugu states the film was sold for 9 crores and until now it collected around 6 crores share and yet to get 3 crores to meet the breakeven. For this to happen, the second weekend must be strong. There needs a spike in the weekend collections.

Mythri movie makers is the leading production house in Telugu film industry now. It is holding two major movies for 2023 Sankranthi. One is mass faction entertainer Veera Simha Reddy of Balayya and other is Waltair Veerayya, a typical mass masala movie of Megastar.

Both the movie teams were hellbent on releasing their movies for Sankranthi. Mythri movie makers had to oblige the demands of both and decided to release them for Sankranthi. It’s rare that two movies of same banner releasing for the same season. As Sankranthi has enough space for two biggies, there will not be much damage for the banner.

However, the competition hasn’t stopped there, both the movies wanted an earlier date which is 12th January 2023.

In this contest for the best date, it looks like Veera Simha Reddy got the much desired date. Sources are claiming that Mythri banner has informed the distributors about the release dates of these two movies. 12th January is fixed for Balayya movie and 13th January for Megastar movie.

This news is making Chiranjeevi fans unhappy. They wanted a solo release as they are confident that Veerayya would break records. This dates allocation will give an edge to Veera Simha Reddy on opening day.

However, many movies in the past collected more than other movies which released earlier in Sankranthi season.

The release date is just one of the advantages, but can’t decide the movie fate. There may be a dent in opening day, but the full run depends on the content alone. Ala VaikunthaPuramuloo proved this, it released after Sarileru Neekevvaru but in full run it got more collections. So, this panic from mega fans is not necessary.
