Netizens trolling music director Thaman on dream projects

SS Thaman is one of the busiest music directors in South India. In 2022, he gave music to films such as Bheemla Nayak, Sarkaru Vaari Paata, Godfather, and Prince among others. He also provided BGM for Radhe Shyam and was quite instrumental in giving chartbusters last year.

In 2023 releases, he already has given music to films like Varisu and Veera Simha Reddy. While he is truly in a great phase of his career working on one biggie after, another, it is Thaman’s statements about his projects and heroes particularly, that caught attention.

While working for Vijay’s Varisu, he expressed that it was his long-term desire to work with Thalapathy. The same happened during Balakrishna’s Akhanda and Veera Simha Reddy. And now, with Mahesh Babu’s SSMB 28, he is making similar statements that it is his dream project. Netizens are trolling Thaman for changing his favourite hero for every movie and claiming every project as his dream project.

On work front, 2023 also promises to be a huge year for Thaman. He’s already working on RC15 and was recently confirmed for Pawan Kalyan’s OG.

Since the RRR release, there has been a never-ending fight in social media in between Ram Charan fans and NTR fans regarding the credit for the film. Both fan bases tried to project that only their favorite hero is the main lead and the other hero is a supporting hero.

The argument continued from FDFS to Golden Globe Awards and Oscar nominations. Fans PR everybody were involved in this fan war. But the fact known to everybody is that SS Rajamouli is the actual hero of the film, and he won the actual accolades and fame from RRR.

Harish Shankar wanted to film with own story but Pawan kalyan surprised Harish Shankar with his ideas, it is being informed that Pawan told to Harish Shankar to make First half with his story and for the second half he can use the story by remaking Theri film. Now Harish Shankar is adopting the first half for the second half of the film.

However, few fans and other neutral audience say that keeping the track record in mind of the director Harish Shankar, it would be better to do a remake film rather than an original script written by him. However, remake of a film which is already released in Telugu will not add any additional hype for the film. In fact it will decrease the interest levels of audience towards the film.

Director Harish Shankar’s last film is Gaddalakonda Ganesh which was an official remake of the Tamil film Jigarthanda. Gaddalakonda Ganesh film was released in 2019, and it has been over 3 years and Still, Harish Shankar failed to make a film with an original script.

To recall, Harish announced Bhavadheeyudu Bhagat Singh with Power Star Pawan Kalyan, many days ago. As mentioned above, this film’s script got changed later as they choose to adapt Tamil film Theri along with few suitable changes for the Telugu audience.

We know that Superstar Mahesh Babu and Director Trivikram are joining hands after a gap of 12 years. This will be the 28th film in the career of Mahesh, and it is tentatively titled SSMB28. Mahesh – Trivikram combination is not only has a craze in fans, but it also has a huge hype neutral audience.

So, it is natural that the combo is doing miracles with pre-release business too. OTT giant Netflix has bought the digital rights of the film for a record price and the film is getting record offers for satellite, dubbing and music rights too.

According to the reports, they expect the film to do 150 crores business with its non-theatrical business only. And for theatrical rights, it is being said that they are quoting Non SSR record shares in all territories.

Overall, the Telugu states business of SSMB28 is quoted at 150 Crores, and it will easily do a minimum of 130 Crores business and in overseas the film is a hot cake as both Mahesh Babu and Trivikram are the biggest stars of overseas. A minimum of 160 Crores business is expected from the theatrical business.

So if we put the amounts together from theatricals and non theatricals, the movie easily can do 300 Crores business which is a massive number for a non Pan Indian film. Let’s wish that Mahesh Babu and Trivikram will live up to the hype their combination has and deliver a solid blockbuster.

Vijay and Lokesh Kanagaraj’s second collaboration Thalapathy 67 has achieved great buzz thanks to the announcement of an extended cast yesterday. The film will star Trisha opposite Vijay and will also featured Action King Arjun, Sanjay Dutt directors Gautham Menon, Mysskin among others.

While everybody was expecting this project to take LCU (Lokesh Cinematic Universe) ahead, here’s a shocker. This movie is said to be a stand-alone film and is on a path to start its own cinematic universe just like Kaithi did. So now Lokesh is planning another universe and Thalapathy 67 is starting part of this universe.

Anirudh Ravichander is roped into score music for Vijay for the fourth time, while Manoj Paramahamsa will handle the camera for Vijay’s film for the third time after ‘Thuppakki’ and ‘Beast’. Prabhas’ biggest budget film Project K releasing in two parts

Prabhas and Deepika Padukone starrer Project K has raised terrific hype right from the day it was announced. Both Nag Ashwin and producer Aswini Dutt have confirmed that the visuals and the world of Project K will present a never before spectacle in the history of Indian cinema. The involvement of legendary director Singeetam Sreenivasa Rao as creative mentor on the project has further heightened the expectations on the film.

A lot is riding on this movie and makers are taking no chance on giving the best output to the audience. Like a number of other pan-India movies like Baahubali and Pushpa, even Project K will be released in two parts. Project is going to be the costliest film in the history of Indian cinema by the time of its release.

The first part is expected to release next year. Already Nag Ashwin and Aswini Dutt have taken the anticipation to another level with their statements about Prabhas’ Project K. Speaking about the project, Nag Ashwin earlier said that it’s a completely new attempt at showing something massive on the silver screen. Directed by the debutant Shanmukha Prashanth, the movie has Tina Shilparaj as the female lead. The film is all set to hit screens Worldwide on February 3, 2023.

Both RC 15 and Indian 2 postponed to newer dates

Shankar’s two upcoming projects RC 15 and Indian 2 have created great buzz amongst industry and trade circles. Both these films are in the production stages. While Indian 2 started way before RC15, it saw several shooting hurdles including the death of a crew member on sets and legal issues for Kamal Haasan as well as Shankar.

RC 15 on the other hand is going at a decent speed and has completed some shooting schedules. But, Shankar, dabbling with two massive projects at once has impacted the shooting of Ram Charan starter as well.

Dil Raju planned for both RC 15 and Indian 2 to release this year but both movies are facing constant delays and are now postponed until next year. Indian 2 is now expected to release on Sankranthi 2024 and RC15 will be released on summer of 2024.

RC 15 stars Kiara Advani, SJ Surya, Anjali, Srikanth, Jayaram and others. Indian 2 on the other hand features Kajal Agarwal opposite Kamal Haasan. Both films are big-budget entertainers with great commercial elements and social messages.
