Huge demand for Pushpa 2 rights in other languages

Pushpa 2 is one of the most awaited pan-India films from Tollywood. The first part was a humungous success in the northern market and the makers want to capitalize on this momentum. Sukumar and the team are focussing on creating record numbers in the rest of India as well as overseas. This is why the team is making several modifications to the script and taking their own time for shooting.

Getting business from other languages is very tough always but the sequels craze and brand Pushpa is doing phenomenal for Pushpa2. Multiple distributors are already enquiring about the rights and offering record prices. Despite this massive demand, Mythri Movie Makers are not giving any rights they are in plans to release the film on their own in all languages.

Pushpa 2 will transcend the boundaries and will have an international backdrop where Allu Arjun will be pitted against all odds. Rashmika Mandana will be back as Sri Valli while Fahadh Faasil will have a meatier role in Pushpa 2 as Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat and his character will surprise one and all. Jagapathy Babu has also been roped in for this pan-India biggie.

Sukumar and the team are now satisfied with their progress and are planning to complete the production part in a series of quick schedules. Everyone is eager to catch the exploits of Pushparaj on a global level and it needs to be seen what the team has packed in the movie.

Megastar Chiranjeevi in plans to release a movie for Sankranti 2024

After his comeback in films, Megastar Chiranjeevi had released 2 films for Sankranti Khaidi No 150 and Waltair Veerayya and both the films have delivered phenomenal numbers for Chiranjeevi, that’s why he is again in plans to release a movie for 2024 Sankranti.

At first, it was reported that RC 15 and Pushpa 2 films will arrive for the season but according to the latest reports both the films are not releasing for 2024 Sankranti and only Pawan Kalyan has a chance to release but even that film’s release is also not sure.

So, looking at all the proceedings, Chiranjeevi is planning to ready a film for next Sankranti. If Pawan Kalyan’s film is not coming for the festival, then it can be fixed that Chiranjeevi will release his film to cash the holiday advantage. He is said to be in talks with his multiple directors for next movie, and nothing has finalized yet.

Currently, he is working for Bhola Shankar which is an official remake of Tamil Blockbuster Vedaalam. We will see Keerthy Suresh as his sister in the film. After that, there are names of Puri Jagannath, Surender Reddy and Kalyan Krishna for his next film but as mentioned above, there’s no official confirmation about Chiranjeevi’s next film after Bhola Shankar.

Ram Charan rejected another director in the final meeting

Ram Charan has rejected another director in the final meeting of Script Discussions. It is very well known that in the recent past Charan had announced a film with Jersey director Gowtham Tinnanuri, but the project was cancelled at the final meeting as Ram Charan did not like the final narration of the full script.

Now the same thing has happened to Kannada director Narthan it seems. It is being reported that Narthan had impressed Ram Charan with his story line and after that, there have been multiple meetings between them, but the ending was not a positive one which the director has desired.

As per the reports, Ram Charan was not Satisfied with the final narration of the script and hence he rejected the movie. Now Ram Charan is very particular about script selection after a Pan India blockbuster like RRR. He is being very cautious and choosy about his afterward films.

Ram Charan is presently filming for the huge Pan-India film RC15 directed by Shankar Shanmugam, which will be released across the country on a large scale by Dil Raju. Kiara Advani will appear opposite him as the female lead in the film, and Thaman is composing music for it.

Ram Charan will next be seen in Buchi Babu Sana’s film, which has a sports backdrop. Post these projects, it was reported that he will work on the Kannada director Narthan’s project, but it is sad that they have cancelled the project.

Sir movie review: Dhanush single-handedly runs this social drama

With its aggressive marketing, Dhanush’s Sir/Vaathi has generated a lot of hype. The makers even arranged paid premieres yesterday with huge faith in the film’s storyline. Sir is releasing amidst great expectations and positive buzz. Let’s find out whether this unique combination of Venky Atluri and Dhanush has enough in it to impress the audience.

Story: Bala Gangadhar Tilak or Balu Sir (Dhanush) is a junior lecturer at Tripathi’s (Samuthirakani) Educational Institute. He is transferred to Siripuram to teach. Why was Balu moved to Siripuram in the first place? What is Tripathi’s grand design? And how Balu turns up against Tripathi is what the movie is about.

Performances:  Dhanush is a unique star performer who can effortlessly transition into any type of role and dazzle the audience. In Sir as well, he continues his brilliant form and does great justice to the lecturer’s role. He is the soul of the film and carries the film on his shoulders, especially in the emotional scenes. Samyuktha’s character is quite limited from a performance perspective and does a decent job. Actor Saikumar has a substantial role, and the veteran actor played it perfectly. Samuthirakani performed admirably in the negative role and this is something that he has done several times in his career which is why he just breezes through the role.


Analysis: In contrast to his previous works, which were love stories and family dramas, Venky Atluri has attempted a subject on a social issue. While the storyline and narration appears cliched at points, there are some novel elements and Dhanush’s performance and screenplay in parts make the movie come alive. The outcome would have been much better if Venky had put even more effort into effectively scripting the character establishment passages in the early half. Sir is a social drama that centers on flaws in the educational system and diving deeper into these flaws instead of going for commercial elements would have done more justice to it.

  • Cliched scenes
  • Lack of gripping moments

Verdict: 

Sir takes its own time to get started with proceedings and that might test the audience’s patience. A more gripping screenplay coupled with a crispier runtime would have made this film much more enjoyable. The politics and business part of the education are well brought up but the Sir mainly shows these problems and not solutions. Overall, Dhanush has expertly managed to steer the movie stably and gives another calculated performance.

చక్కని ప్రచార కార్యక్రమాలతో సూపర్ బజ్ క్రియేట్ చేసిన ధనుష్ తాజా చిత్రం సార్ (వాతి) తమ సినిమా కంటెంట్ పై ఉన్న నమ్మకంతో తెలుగు వెర్షన్ ప్రేక్షకులకు పెయిడ్ ప్రీమియర్స్ ఏర్పాటు చేశారు. కాగా తమిళ వెర్షన్ ను మీడియా వారికి చూపించారు. తమిళ వెర్షన్ టాక్ చాలా పాజిటివ్ గా ఉండడంతో పాటు తెలుగు వెర్షన్ కూడా డీసెంట్ రిపోర్ట్స్ తో దూసుకెళ్తోంది.

ఒక బలమైన సందేశంతో తెరకెక్కిన ఈ చిత్రంలో దర్శకుడు వెంకీ అట్లూరి తను చెప్పాలి అనుకున్న విషయాన్ని ఎమోషన్స్, ఎంటర్ టైన్ మెంట్ ల సరైన మేళవింపుతో తెరకెక్కించారని సినిమా చూసిన వారు అంటున్నారు. నిజానికి వెంకీ అట్లూరి ఈ జానర్ ను ట్రై చేయడం ఇదే మొదటిసారి కావడంతో అసలు అలాంటి సబ్జెక్ట్ ను ఆయన తెరకెక్కించగలడా అని అందరూ అనుమంచారు.

అయితే తన శైలికి భిన్నంగా సీరియస్ సినిమాని ఆసక్తికరంగా మలిచినట్లు ప్రీమియర్ షోల నుంచి టాక్ వినిపిస్తుంది. ఇక ధనుష్ తన సినిమాల్లో ఏదో ఒక సందేశాన్ని జోడించి తెరకెక్కించడం మామూలే. అలాగే ఈసారి కూడా ప్రేక్షకులకు ఆయన ఒక మంచి సినిమాని అందించినట్టే కనిపిస్తుంది.

కేవలం నగరాల్లో మాత్రమే ప్రీమియర్స్ ప్రదర్శించినందున క్లాస్ ప్రేక్షకులకు ఈ సినిమా తప్పకుండా నచ్చుతుంది. అయితే మాస్ ప్రేక్షకుల నుంచి ఈ సినిమాకి ఎలాంటి స్పందన వస్తుందో చూడాలి. ఇక వారి టాక్ పైనే బాక్సాఫీస్ వద్ద సినిమా ఎలా ఆడుతుంది అనేది ఆధారపడుతుంది.

ధనుష్ తో పాటు తెలుగులో ఇటీవల బింబిసార, భీమ్లా నాయక్, మలయాళంలో కడువా వంటి విజయవంతమైన చిత్రాల్లో నటించిన సంయుక్త మీనన్ కూడా వాతి/సార్ లో నటించారు. సముద్రఖని, తనికెళ్ల భరణి, సాయికుమార్ ఇతర కీలక పాత్రలు పోషించారు. జీవీ ప్రకాశ్ సంగీతం అందించారు. సితార ఎంటర్టైన్మెంట్స్, ఫార్చ్యూన్ ఫోర్ సినిమాస్ పతాకాల పై సూర్యదేవర నాగవంశీ, త్రివిక్రమ్ ఈ చిత్రాన్ని నిర్మించారు.

Dhanush’s Vaathi has created superb buzz with its aggressive promotions and with the confidence in their film’s content the team had arranged paid premiers for the audience of Telugu version and they showed Tamil version to the media. The Tamil version’s talk is extremely positive and Telugu version is also carrying decent reports.

The film deals with a strong message, and it is said that director Venky Atluri has blended his point with a good blend of emotions and entertainment. This is the first time that he has tried this genre and looks like he has made an excellent film.

The class public will certainly like the movie as the premiers have been screened only in cities, but we need to see whether the mass audience respond will go for this film or not and their talk will decide the range of movie at box office.

Dhanush’s bilingual project Vaathi/ Sir is all set to release tomorrow. The film stars Dhanush and Samyukhta in lead roles and is releasing amidst positive reports. What needs to be seen is if this project directed by Venky Atluri manages to break the jinx of the Telugu directors and Tamil heroes combination.

Several Telugu directors have tried out their luck with Tamil heroes in the recent past. Anudeep directed Prince with Siva Karthikeyan and Vamshi Paidipally directed Vijay’s Varisu and now Venky Atluri is coming up with Dhanush. As per reports, Parusuram and Vamshi Paidipally are already in talks with Tamil stars for their upcoming projects.

These combinations are aimed at bringing freshness to both Telugu as well as Tamil industries. Apart from that, it can also help in market expansion for both heroes and directors. Even several Tamil directors are now working with Telugu heroes.

Most recently we saw Lingusamy with Ram in The Warrion while Pawan Kalyan will be teaming up with Samuthirakani in his next. Naga Chaitanya has also joined hands with Venkat Prabhu for his upcoming project.

Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo Hindi remake Shehzada goes for 1+1 offer on opening day

Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon starrer Shehzada is all set to release tomorrow. The film is a remake of Allu Arjun’s Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo and is directed by Rohit Dhawan. Everyone is expecting Kartik’s film to continue the momentum that Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan established for Bollywood in 2023. However, day 1’s advance bookings are quite dismal and are indicators of low opening-day figures.

To counter this, the makers of Shehzada have announced a special gift for moviegoers — the tickets on opening day can be availed at a ‘buy one, get one free’ deal. 

Produced by T-Series Films, Haarika & Hassine Creations, Geetha Arts, and Brat Films, Shehzada was initially scheduled to release on 10th February but a couple of weeks ago, the makers announced that the film has been pushed to 17th February. This was pushed to avoid a clash with Shahrukh Khan’s Pathaan which is still going strong at the box office.

The comedy-drama also stars Kriti Sanon, Manisha Koirala, Paresh Rawal, Ronit Roy, and Sachin Khedekar. The music for the movie has been composed by Pritam.

Three latest Telugu films are streaming on OTT from tonight

Three latest Telugu films are streaming on OTT from tonight to entertain Telugu viewers. The films are Sudigaali Sudheer’s Gaalodu, Santhosh Sobhan’s Kalyanam Kamaneeyam and Bigg Boss Telugu fame Syed Sohel Ryan’s Lucky Lakshman.

Jabardasth Sudheer’s latest film Gaalodu which has stunned the trade circles with the collections and became a big blockbuster, is now ready for OTT streaming. The film fetched a good amount through the OTT rights, and it will stream on Aha Video and Amazon Prime from 17th February. i.e. from tonight.

Santosh Sobhan’s Kalyanam Kamaneeyam directed by Anil Kumar released during Sankranti in theaters. Those who watched the film felt that it had OTT content and the makers should have gone for direct OTT streaming rather than theatrical release.

The film starred Priya Bhavani Shankar as the female lead while Devi Prasad, Pavithra Lokesh, Satyam Rajesh, Sapthagiri, Kedar Shankar, Roopa Lakshmi starred in important roles. The music for the film is scored by Shrawan Bharadwaj while Karthik Ghattameneni handled the camera. The film is produced on the UV Creations banner. We will have to wait and see how Kalyanam Kamaneeyam will entertain movie lovers on Aha OTT platform.

Bigg Boss Telugu fame Syed Sohel Ryan starrer new film Lucky Lakshman is also streaming on OTT from tonight. Directed by AR Abhi, the film stars Mokksha opposite Sohel along with Devi Prasad, Raja Ravindra, Sameer in pivotal roles. The film will stream on Aha Video Platform.
