Will Rajamouli connect epics for Mahesh Babu’s film?

Tollywood Director, SS Rajamouli has teamed up with Actor Mahesh Babu for his upcoming film. The duo have also started working for the film. Rajamouli is busy co-ordinating the script work and Mahesh Babu too is working hard to achieve a great look and physique for the film. The film is said to be a jungle action adventure set in African forests. But now the question is, Will Rajamouli connect the epics of Hindu Mythology for this Mahesh Babu’s film?

Tollywood has scored big blockbusters in the recent times by including Hindu epics in films. We saw this happened to Hanuman and Karthikeya 2. These two films became big Pan India blockbusters surprisingly. Kantara too amazed people with the same Hindu mythology backing. Now, Kalki 2898 AD starring Prabhas is rocking the box office. This film is also a modern day adaptation of Mahabharatha.

Rajamouli too is known for including the epics portion in his earlier films. So it has to be seen how he does this now in his upcoming film. This film is rumoured to display hanuman’s story in the film. Rajamouli is aiming to do big with this film and so is Mahesh Babu. The film will go on sets anytime this year as its still in the writing stage.

High court notices to Kalki 2898 AD producer Aswini Dutt

Kalki 2898 AD produced by Vyjayanthi Movies Banner is rocking the box office. The film achieved a unanimous positive talk after its release and grossed more than 500 crores worldwide in the first weekend. The film is also racing towards the 1000 crore gross mark. Now a shocking incident happened with High Court sending notices to Kalki 2898 AD producer, Aswini Dutt.

Producer Aswini Dutt requested both the Telugu States governments for ticket hike prices to stay for two weeks. He even got permission for the same request as well. A petition was filed in High Court seeking the legality of such continuous hike in ticket prices for two weeks. Now, the High Court has sent notices to the producer, Aswini Dutt regading the same. Popular Telugu News Channel, NTV reported about the issue as well.

It needs to be seen how Aswini Dutt responds to the case. On the other hand, as said, the film is racing ahead towards the 1000 crore mark gross worldwide. The Telugu version alone has contibuted 200 crores from this. The team is very much happy about this success and they hope that the film may even breach 1000 crore mark in its full run.

Pawan Kalyan breaks silence on films

Tollywood Actor, Pawan Kalyan enjoyed top position in the Industry for years. But he has also chosen to be a politician and became successful recently in AP Assembly Elections. He has also assumed charge as the Deputy CM of the state hencewith. Fans and Audience were happy and sad at the same time. They feel that they may not see Pawan Kalyan doing films often after this. But Pawan Kalyan has finally broken silence on his stand on films.

The Actor assured fans that he would be doing films like before. He said that he will start doing films in the coming three months. He will start completing three films which were put on hold. Hari Hara Veera Mallu, OG and Ustaad Bhagat Singh are under wraps for many days. The Actor will first concentrate on completing these films and then may think about other films afterwards. But there is no confirmation regarding him doing new films.

Producer AM Rathnam has also recently said that he was hoping to bring Hari Hara Veera Mallu for this December. This indicates that Pawan Kalyan would be working for the film in a few months. OG is also said to have postponed to next year. Ustaad Bhagat Singh too may release next year.

Kalki 2898 AD 1st week collections: Crosses 600 gross mark

Kalki 2898 AD starring Prabhas has rocked the box office worldwide. The film has already many records in its list. It grossed nearly 500 crores worldwide in the first weekend with Telugu version alone contributing 200 crores from it. Now Kalki 2898 AD 1st week collections are out and the film has crossed the 600 crore gross mark as well.

Kalki 2898 AD has collected in the range of 625 crores gross worldwide. Baahubali 2 still holds the record of 1st week with 800 crore+ gross followed by KGF Chapter 2 with 720 crores and third in the list being RRR with 700 crores. Jawaan stands 4th in this list with 660 crores gross and Pathaan in 6th with 630 crores. Kalki 2898 AD will also be in the range of Pathaan. The film will be at 5th or 6th after its first week performance.

So only six films have managed to collect more than 600 crore gross in their first week after release. Out of these, Shah Rukh Khan has two films and Prabhas also happens to be the second hero which is really a great achievement. Director SS Rajamouli also has two films in this list with Baahubali 2 and RRR.

Vishwak Sen’s surprising lady getup in his upcoming film

Tollywood Actor, Vishwak Sen who recently tasted failure with Gangs of Godavari is coming with a different attempt for his upcoming project. The film is titled Laila. This film will see Vishwak Sen playing a lady getup for the first time in his career. It’s really a surprising and daring attempt for any hero. No hero of this present generation had attempted this before as well.

Actor Vishwak Sen is often found doing different genre of films. He will be seen as a man and a woman in the film. Laila is produced by Sahu Garapati of Shine Screens. Ram Narayan, the director has penned powerful script to present Vishwak Sen in a never before character as Laila. The film’s pooja ceremony was also done yesterday with Akanksha Sharma debuting as lead heroine with the film. Tanishk Bagchi and Ghibran will score music for the film with Brahma Kadali as the Art Director. Richard Prasad will act as Cinematographer for the film.

On the other hand, Gangs of Godavari, Vishwak Sen’s previous film became a big disappointment for actor and he has to bounce back hard with Laila now. However, it has to be seen how the experimental film works.

Apart from grand visuals and a star-studded lineup in Kalki 2898 AD featuring Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Kamal Haasan, the other supporting characters such as Raia were also high points of the film. Raia character is played by a girl Keya Nair, an actress from Kerala but is shown as a little boy who plays a crucial role in the film. It’s Raia who brings Aswathama and saves Sumathi (Deepika Padukone).

Looking at the way Raia’s character was written, we can definitely expect a big surprise as Nag Ashwin, and a big twist is expected to come out from this character which may be revealed in the 2nd part of Kalki 2898 AD.

Nag Ashwin has already surprised and stunned us by revealing Prabhas as Karna in part 1. This revelation scene was a major highlight of the film. In part 2, many such surprises are expected and Raia’s character is expected to be the biggest surprise revealed in the sequel.

Kalki 2898 AD had a massive target to achieve but looking at the current performance it looks like the film is on its way to becoming a massive hit. The film has to gross a minimum of 800 crores worldwide to become a hit. If all goes well, Kalki 2898 AD may even touch the 1000 crore mark worldwide.

Pawan Kalyan Proposes North India Ticket Prices Model

Pawan Kalyan’s meeting with Tollywood producers was a highly anticipated one with everyone eagerly waiting to see what kind of discussions and decisions would be taken. The team of producers later revealed that it was just a courtesy visit and some discussions regarding industry welfare and co-operation between the government and Tollywood took place.

There was one interesting revelation where Pawan Kalyan suggested Tollywood can also adopt a pre-defined price system like North India instead of going for ticket hikes with permission from the government for every film release. Producer Aswini Dutt revealed that the team didn’t pursue the plan as it was not practical for the Tollywood market.

In North India and even in some southern states, there will be flexible ticket pricing liking where weekend prices will be high and weekdays will be comparatively low. Morning shows will have one ticket price and evening shows will have another ticket price.

Pawan Kalyan suggested having a dynamic pricing system as per demand and not going for a fixed rate for all the shows throughout the week.

Kalki 2898 AD budget has been the topic of discussion right from the day it was announced. For a film that’s of sci-fi genre with a star cast comprising of Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan, naturally, the budget would be massive. Producer Aswini Dutt revealed some information on the Kalki 2898 AD budget in a recent interview.

He officially revealed that Kalki 2898 AD budget is Rs 700 Cr. And now with superb theatrical returns and non theatrical returns, it will be a profitable venture despite of record budget.

Another thing to be noted is that the budget of Rs 700 Cr includes the shooting part of Kalki 2 as well. Due to the great success of Kalki Part 1, the Part 2 business is also expected to be quite profitable. The part 1 is currently heading towards blockbuster success.

Aswini Dutt further added that the casting is a huge plus for this success. The presence and superb performance of Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhas, and Kamal Haasan has led to this range of success.

Quite some time back Prashanth Neel’s Salaar was announced as two-part film. However, Neel clearly mentioned that the sequel will take some time as his next commitment is with NTR. But, after Salaar’s release, Hombale Films started forcing Prashanth Neel to do Salaar 2 and even tried convincing Mythri Movie Makers for the same.

Mythri Movie Makers did not budge to this demand of Salaar producers saying they have been waiting for a long time and Prashanth Neel has already given them a commitment for this project.

Homable Fims are continuously pressuring Neel to start Salaar2 and have asked him to do both movies simultaneously. If both projects proceed simultaneously, both will have an impact and work will be delayed for sure.

Homable Films wants Salaar 2 to go on floors as quickly as possible as they are seeing huge money in this film. They feel Salaar 2 will be as big as KGF 2 so they want to cash on the craze at the earliest.

Prime Video pressurizes Ajith’s Vidaamuyarchi

Ajith will be next seen in Adhik Ravichandran’s ‘Good Bad and Ugly’ along with Magizh Thirumeni’s “Vidaamuyarchi”. Coming to Vidaamuyarchi, the film got off to a rocking start with a lengthy outdoor shoot in Azerbaijan. After this, the film has faced several delays leading to a release date postponement as well.

The film was initially planned for a summer release and then moved to August. Now, it has once again shifted to a Diwali release leading to frustration amongst fans as well as Amazon Prime Video. The global streaming giant had acquired the streaming rights of Vidaamuyarchi for a whopping Rs 70 crores.

With these constant delays, Amazon Prime has reportedly informed the makers of the film that the film must now be released before November under any condition. And failing to do so would lead to them backing down from the deal.

Ajith and Trisha play the main roles in ‘Vidaamuyarchi, where Arjun, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Das, Arav, and Regina Cassandra play key roles. The team has shot in Azerbaijan for an extended period and these scenes will be the movie’s highlight. Vidaamuyarchi continues the ‘V’ sentiment of Ajith; out of his last ten films, six of them have been titled with the letter ‘V.’
