If the movie had been sold to top distributors, those distributors would have ensured that all the above-mentioned things happened for Salaar. However, the producers of Salaar have opted for their close people for the distribution of the film instead of popular distributors.

In areas like Guntur and Krishna, the movie was sold to KSN Telefilms, who are not regular distributors, so the hires and early shows have been greatly impacted. In the West, Salaar is being released by Geetha, but it is on an advanced basis, so they did not put much interest in closing the deals, which resulted in poor hires for the film.

If the movie was sold to popular distributors on an NRA or MG basis, then the film might have seen substantial record openings. There is no possibility of record openings for the film;  the shows are starting at 8 AM in many areas. Salaar’s Andhra Pradesh openings were affected by the producers’ bad decisions. 

The producers of Salaar have also failed to negotiate the hike with the AP government. For the recent Prabhas film, Adipurush received a 50 RS hike, but Salaar just got a hike of 40 Rs.

Meanwhile, Salaar is on a record spree in other areas like Nizam, Kerala and overseas. In North America, Salaar has crossed $2 million in pre-sales.

Official: Salaar PVR INOX release issues are cleared

Till this morning, there were heavy speculations that exhibitors are favouring Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki over Prabhas’ Salaar, due to this Hombale Films had decided not to release their film in PVR-Inox and Miraj theaters in certain states. However, the entire issue has been sorted and Salaar will now be screened in PVR Inox screens.

Hombale Films in afternoon officially announced the data of advance bookings and gave an indirect warning to national plexes that they would not lose anything even if there is no release in PVR-Inox.

But multiplexes can lose a lot if a film like Salaar isn’t screened there so a compromise has been achieved fulfilling the Salaar producer’s demands. The PVR Inox team has released an official statement and the booking has started opening across India.

The statement from PVR Inox read that all the reports suggesting the multiple giant favoring Dunki over Salaar are false and the Prabhas starter will be released in their screens as scheduled on December 22nd

Salaar surpasses $2 million in pre-sales for premieres in North America

Prabhas’ Salaar is setting the box office on fire with extraordinary numbers coming in for its premieres. Despite the competition from Dunki, the distributors planned and scheduled the shows well leading to great numbers. The pre-sales in North America crossed $2 Million mark this is just for premieres.

The film is expected to collect a $2.75M range for premiers and day 1 is expected to be in the range of $4M including premiers. Only 2 Indian films have crossed $4M million mark on the opening day and both are Rajamouli films RRR and Baahubali 2. RRR opening day was $5.55M and Baahubali 2 was $4.59M.

Salaar will become the 3rd Indian film to have $3 Million opening day. if it opens with a positive word of mouth, there is a possibility for $4M opening day in North America.

Prashanth Neel has directed this action drama while Hombale Films are producing this much-awaited pan-India project. Salaar also stars Shruti Haasan opposite Prabhas in this project which also features Prithviraj, Jagapathi Babu, and others.
