Fans Furious with Nagarjuna

0

Akkineni fans were on cloud nine when they got to know that Nagarjuna is playing a villain opposite Superstar Rajinikanth in Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. However, the fans are furious with Nagarjuna after watching the film today.

Nagarjuna is one of the 4 pillars of Tollywood in the past generation who has a big fan base and following. Yes, he is facing a series of setbacks as a lead hero continuously, but the veteran actor is still capable of pulling off a big success with a good movie.

Even the other senior hero, Venkatesh, also faced a big setback with the 2024 Sankranthi, where he scored a big disaster with Saindhav, but on this Sankranthi, he delivered a sensational BB with Sankranthiki Vastunnam.

The catch here is that Venky is patiently waiting and setting up the movies according to his strengths. But Nagarjuna takes a different route. He is not signing any movie as a lead and is accepting character roles.

Nagarjuna Faces The Heat From Fans Because Of Coolie

Nag played a crucial character in Kuberaa, and it resulted in a mixed response from fans, as they liked his role in the 1st half, as there was a good balance, but in the 2nd half, the character was sidelined, and the film completely moved on to Dhanush’s side.

Again, the Manmadhudu actor took a big risk as he accepted an antagonist role in Coolie. Everyone expected it to be on par with Rajini’s role, as Lokesh is the director.

Nagarjuna Needs To Take Care Of His Script Selection

But after watching the movie, even the neutral audiences are disappointed, and fans are furious with Nagarjuna, as they are angry that he could do such a regular villain character for his stature.

Nagarjuna needs to take this feedback seriously. He has correctly chosen to do crucial or villain characters at the right age, which is definitely appreciable, but he needs to select the films where he can score on par with the lead actor or even bigger for his stature.

Supreme Court’s Shock To Kannada Actor Darshan

0

Kannada actor Darshan has been in the news for the wrong reasons for a few months. The actor was arrested in a murder case. Lately, Darshan received a shock from the Supreme Court regarding his bail application.

The verdict on bail in the Renuka Swamy murder case, which created a sensation across the country, was issued today. The police have filed a petition in the Supreme Court to cancel the bail of actor Darshan Pavitra Gowda and some other accused.

In this context, the Supreme Court issued a sensational verdict today, as it canceled the bail of Darshan. The actor was granted bail by the Karnataka High Court a few days ago in this murder case, and he was also busy shooting for a film.

However, the police have filed a petition in the Supreme Court stating that there is a possibility of tampering with the evidence. With this, the Supreme Court has issued a sensational verdict today. After hearing arguments in favor and against from both sides, the Supreme Court has reserved this sensational verdict, and Darshan will have to go back to jail.

A two-judge Supreme Court bench comprising Justices JB Pardiwala and R Mahadev issued these latest orders. Actor Darshan and Pavitra Gowda should surrender to the court today.

Otherwise, it ordered immediate arrest. Moreover, the court ordered that the other accused should not be given 5-star VIP facilities. This is a big shock for Darshan, who is currently busy shooting for the movie Devil. He will have to go to jail again.

What happened in the Renuka Swamy murder case?

On June 9, 2024, auto driver Renuka Swamy (33) was murdered at a flyover in Bangalore. He was also a huge fan of Kannada actor Darshan. However, he used to personally send controversial posts on Pavitra Gowda. Pavitra told to her friend Darshan, saying that she was being harassed on social media.

Darshan’s men kidnapped Renuka Swamy and beat him to death in Pattenagara village, Bangalore. Darshan received information about Renuka’s death through WhatsApp.

According to the reports, after the murder, Pavitra Gowda and Darshan went to the area and examined the dead body of Renuka Swamy. They were arrested in this case back then and were released on bail by the Karnataka High Court.

Coolie Movie Review: A Regular Revenge Drama

0

Movie Name: Coolie
Rating: 2.5/5
Cast:
Rajinikanth, Nagarjuna, Upendra, Shruti Hassan, Soubin Shahir, Sathyaraj, Aamir Khan, and Others
Director: Lokesh Kanagaraj
Produced By:
Sun Pictures
Release Date: 14th August 2025

Coolie, the action drama directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and starring Superstar Rajinikanth, has built a humongous hype among audiences with its huge star cast, electrifying music, and exciting promos. The film’s advance bookings showed how crazy audiences are about the film. Today, the film is out in theaters. Let’s check whether the film lived up to the expectations or not in our review.

Story:

In the film, we see Deva (Rajinikanth), a lonely elderly man living in his mansion. When his friend (Sathyaraj) mysteriously dies, Deva picks up on some danger surrounding Preeti, his friend’s daughter. The story then unravels how this all relates to Simon and his smuggling business while digging into Deva’s past.

Performances:

Director Lokesh Kanagaraj showcases superstar Rajinikanth flawlessly. Rajini has some standout moments as an actor, but overall, it seems like just another laid-back character for him.

Nagarjuna, playing Simon, shines in the first half and delivers an intense scene near the conclusion that gets a fantastic reaction from the crowd. However, the last fight between Nag and Rajini could have been more exciting.

After a while, Shruti Haasan picks up a significant role and does well. While Upendra and Aamir Khan’s cameos are not that great, their parts at the end get the job done.

Soubin Shahir, the Malayalam actor, gets a significant role in Coolie and gets plenty of screen time, delivering a good performance. Sathyaraj fits right into his brief part, and Rachita Ram impresses everyone with her surprising character. Kanna Ravi and others are okay.

Analysis:

Lokesh Kanagaraj, famous for his epic action flicks, is at the helm of Coolie. The movie kicks off with a cool port setting, giving us a quick but captivating look at Simon (Nagarjuna). Things keep a decent level of engagement until the intermission, though nothing provides the high energy or sets a new standard.

The introduction of Deva and the sentiment angle with Preethi are alright. The fight in the hostel and a couple of iconic Rajini scenes, including the interval, work well for the film.

In the second half, Coolie kind of drops the ball. Lokesh lays down a solid foundation for Simon’s character and creates some good tension for his showdown with Deva, but he does not capitalize on it.

The scenes featuring Soubin Shahir and Shruti Haasan take far too long to wrap up. The link between the villains needed more work to make sense. However, the Kokki Theme fight and the penultimate portions of the backstory at the end provide a reasonably high level, with the help of cameos by Upendra and Aamir Khan

Positives:

  • Superstar Rajinikanth’s Screen Presence
    • A Few Elevated Scenes/Fights
  • Anirudh’s Music

Negatives:

  • Very Simple Story
  • Not So Great Use of Nagarjuna as Simon
  • Camoes Needed Better Setup
  • Inconsistent Feel

Coolie Movie Review and Verdict:

Coolie by Lokesh Kanagaraj feels like a run-of-the-mill revenge story. Superstar Rajinikanth’s presence, some thrilling moments, Anirudh’s catchy background score, and a large ensemble cast all contribute to making it fairly enjoyable. However, the film’s story is too simple, and the taking is also nothing special, which would disappoint the audiences who have high expectations on the film

War 2 Movie Review: Mission Failed

0

Movie Name: War 2
Rating: 2/5
Cast: Hrithik Roshan, NTR, Kiara Advani, Ashutosh Rana, Anil Kapoor, and Others
Director: Ayan Mukerji
Produced By: Yash Raj Films
Release Date: 14th August 2025

War 2 marks the Bollywood debut of Telugu star hero NTR. The actor is seen alongside Hrithik Roshan in this spy action drama. The film’s promotional content did not receive a big response, but the team asserted confidence that it would impress everyone for sure. Let us see if their confidence has turned into truth or not.

Story:

In War 2, we see Hrithik and NTR as friends, Kabir and Vikram, whose decisions split them apart, yet their adventures link back to the sensitive events linked to the nation. The reasons behind their actions and the showdown that follows make up the main storyline.

Performances:

Hrithik Roshan brings his signature charisma and captivating presence to War 2. The confidence he shows while holding the frame is impressive. When it comes to performance, his role isn’t super complex, but there are definitely a few moments where his acting skills really stand out.

NTR’s character begins intriguingly but quickly loses its appeal. His role lacks substance, offering little for the audience. The character leaves no mark, resulting in a poor Bollywood debut for the actor.

Ashutosh Rana shines despite limited scenes. Anil Kapoor has a sporadic role with minimal screen time. Kiara Advani, the female lead, features in a song and some short love scenes but contributes little depth. There’s barely anything to talk about her character.

Analysis:

Ayan Mukerji’s War 2 starts off in Japan with an exciting action sequence that showcases Hrithik and keeps you hooked. Following an intriguing plot setup, NTR’s intro captivates and creates a perfect backdrop for the confrontation between the protagonists.

Still, the following scenes fall flat since the action sequences seem far too typical and drawn out. The only part that impresses is the dance number, Salaam Anali, while the interval is nothing special.

The second half of War 2 kicks off with a flashback that’s far too straightforward for such an epic showdown between the main characters.

The important moments between Kiara and Hrithik get far too laid-back. Saarang’s death scene in the latter part hits hard, and there are some solid shots of Hrithik Roshan and NTR during the climax action, but the director’s resolution of their conflict just does not seem right.

Positives:

  • Both Hero’s Introduction Sequences
  • Boat Chase Scene
  • A Few Scenes/Dialogues Between Hrithik-NTR

Negatives:

  • Tedious Narration
  • Dull Action Parts
  • Poor VFX
  • Weak Emotions/Conflict Between Hrithik-NTR

War 2 Movie Review and Verdict:

War 2 turns out to be a big letdown. This film misses the mark with its two major stars, Hrithik Roshan and NTR, and even if they spice up a couple of moments, the rest of the movie feels pretty boring and flat.

War 2 1st Day Final Advance Bookings – Below Par

0

NTR and Hrithik Roshan’s War 2 is all set to release in theaters worldwide in a few hours. Despite being a franchise film and having two stars from North and South, War 2’s 1st-day final advance bookings are below par.

The weak promotional content dented the film’s hype, and the Coolie’s competition impacted the film’s advance bookings in a big way. The film carried decent advances in Andhra Pradesh with 10 Cr, whereas in Telangana, it had average bookings with 5.5 Cr gross.

States like Karnataka, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu have given a combined gross of 3 Cr, and North India’s number will be around 12 Cr, which takes the total all-India gross to 30 Cr and overseas advances close to 11 Cr.

With that, the total final advances will be more than 40 Cr. Overall, Hrithik Roshan and NTR’s War 2’s 1st-day final advance bookings are below par.

These are definitely disappointing bookings for the film, as they are nowhere near the expectations. Most of the people even predicted that War 2 would open bigger than Coolie, but everything got changed.

Now, War 2 is looking at a 90 Cr start worldwide, and it needs a big WOM to score a big success at the box office.

Prabhas and Maruthi’s “The Raja Saab” was scheduled to be released in December, but it has been moved to Sankranthi. While the release date is still not confirmed, an investment of 218 crore drags The Raja Saab into a court clash.

People Media Factory (PMF) and IVY Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. had an agreement for The Raja Saab, with IVY to invest ₹225 Cr. IVY paid ₹218 Cr but later sought to cancel the deal because Raja Saab’s release is continuously being delayed, which PMF refused.

Reportedly, PMF invested beyond IVY’s amount and continued the project, leading to both sides sending legal notices. In an unexpected development, an investment of 218 crore drags Prabhas’s The Raja Saab into a court clash.

The case is still pending in the Delhi High Court. In the last hearing, PMF offered to repay IVY’s investment with interest before release in return for IVY giving up all rights to the film. The court asked IVY to submit a counterproposal and urged both parties to work towards a resolution.
