Laila Faces Outright Rejection on OTT Too

Vishwak Sen’s Laila was released in theaters on Valentine’s Day, and though the film created many controversies before the theatrical release, nothing helped it to create good buzz as the promotional content was a disaster. Now, Laila faces outright rejection on OTT too.

The film opened with disastrous reviews upon theatrical release. With that, the film was unanimously rejected by audiences in theaters. After that, it arrived on OTT yesterday and started streaming on Prime Video.

Vishwak Sen’s Laila faces outright rejection on OTT too. The OTT viewers are unable to watch the entire film itself even on OTT as they felt it was torturous and unbearable. Also, most people are not even showing interest in watching this film.

That is the reason for the film not trending on Prime Video. Normally, any new releases will trend on top on the OTT platform. Sharwanand’s Manamey was released in theaters 9 months back, and it arrived on Prime Video last Friday, and it is trending at the no. 1 position.

Hari Hara Veera Mallu Postponed, New Release Date Locked

Pawan Kalyan’s long-delayed film, Hari Hara Veera Mallu, was announced for a 28th March release recently, and the makers released two songs as well. However, there was a continuous rumor about the film that it would not arrive on the said date. Now, the latest reports suggest that Hari Hara Veera Mallu has been postponed, and the makers have locked in a new release date.

Due to delays in the shooting and post-production works, the movie was forced to be postponed. This was confirmed to the other producers unofficially, and that is why films like Mad Square and Robinhood are being released on March 28, 2025. 

Pawan Kalyan is said to have confirmed dates for both OG and Hari Hara Veera Mallu. In the next week, he has given dates for HHHVM, and in April, he provided dates for OG. With this, it is official that Hari Hara Veera Mallu has been postponed, and the makers locked a new release date.

The new release date of HHVM is 9th May. Interestingly, Chiranjeevi’s Vishwambhara was initially planned to arrive on the same date, but they are not releasing the film on this date due to a delay in work. Hari Hara Veera Mallu will have a big release, and it will be the solo biggie of this summer.

The team is likely to announce the new release date with a glimpse very soon. On 9th May, Nithin’s Thammudu is also planning to be released, and if Hari Hara Veera Mallu arrives, they must postpone it to another date.

Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava continues its unstoppable run at the box office. Even though the film’s Telugu version had a delayed release, it is doing well in the theaters. The Telugu audiences were interested in watching the historical drama in their language. Chhaava Telugu’s 1st weekend box office collections are as follows.

Chhaava Telugu Version: A Big Success

On the opening day, the film collected a 3 Cr gross, and on the second day, it witnessed a good jump and collected around 3.75 Cr gross. Normally, any film could have had more jump on the 3rd day/Sunday.

However, due to the ICC Champions Trophy final match between India and New Zealand, the movie maintained day 1 range collections on day 3. After Baahubali 2, only Pushpa 2 joined the ₹1000 Cr club, but many films entered the ₹500 Cr club. Chhaava beats Pushpa 2 in Maharashtra

Chhaava, starring Vicky Kaushal is rocking the box office worldwide. The film has already gone past the 685 crores gross mark worldwide and is still going strong. In Maharashtra, Baahubali 2 was the first film to gross more than 200 crores, creating a benchmark. Interestingly, this was recently broken by Pushpa 2, starring Allu Arjun, setting a new benchmark of 250 crores.

Now, Chhaava broke the record of Pushpa 2 emerging as the highest grosser in Maharashtra. Chhaava has collected nearly 260 crores gross by today and it is also expected to do more than 300 crores in the final run. With this, it will also become the first 300 crore grosser film in Maharashtra.

Maharashtra has contributed almost half of the gross for Chhaava in India. This is also because of the backdrop of the film as it is the adaptation of Sambhaji Maharaj, son of Chatrapthi Sivaji. But now, to the team’s repeated disappointment, a shoot video involving Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj was leaked online a while ago. This came as a big shocker as it looked like an intense moment from the film. Both the looks and characters of Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj have been leaked now because of this leaked video. This explains how difficult it is to control the leak of an outdoor shoot, even for Rajamouli.

Likewise, the team initiated damage control and appealed to fans and audiences to not share the leaked video on social media. The team may also conduct an official press meet to put all the details out. This press meet was expected to happen many months ago but got delayed for unknown reasons.

Laila is now streaming

Laila, starring Vishwak Sen released recently, and it became an outright disaster at the box office. The film was rejected by the reviewers and audience alike, bashing the content and the vulgarity. The makers have announced the streaming of Laila on the OTT platform, but this was delayed.

Laila was initially expected to arrive on the OTT on Amazon Prime Video and Aha Video on 7th March. But it didn’t stream that day and is now arriving on 9th March i.e., today on Prime Video. Audiences who haven’t watched the film in theatres can now watch it on the OTT space. The team hopes big from the OTT response at least.

As said, the film completely disappointed the makers, and Vishwak Sen had to issue an official apology letter. He promised that he would take up good films and roles from now on and not cross the line of vulgarity.
