Mufasa: The Lion King, the recent superhit from Disney, is all set to arrive in the digital field. The film will be available for streaming on Disney+ from March 26. On the same day, it will stream on Jio Hotstar in all languages. Mufasa: The Lion King OTT release details are out.

Mufasa: The Lion King, moving to the OTT world

Superstar Mahesh Babu has dubbed his voice for the titular character in the Telugu version, while the Hindi version had Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan’s voice for the same. The film was equally loved by Indian audiences, as they were in awe of the Mufasa character.

Mufasa: The Lion King is the newest film from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ live-action series, bringing in almost USD 653 million globally. While the 2019 movie focused on Simba’s journey to becoming king, the 2024 prequel looks at Mufasa’s early years.

Released in theaters around the world on December 20, 2024, Mufasa serves as a prequel to The Lion King (2019). The film received mixed reviews overall, but it performed exceptionally well in India, earning 100 crore net at the box office. Chhaava Telugu 4 days box office collections

Chhaava, starring Vicky Kaushal, is rocking the box office. The film is continuing its dominant run even after 3 weeks with a steady performance. It has already grossed more than 600 crores worldwide, indicating much more to come in its long run. Chhaava has also released in Telugu States recently, and it performed excellent here.

The film has collected 3 crores on the opening day and added 3.8 crores on the second day. Day 3 was around 2.65 crores, and Day 4 was around 1.45 crores. The total gross for 4 days is close to 10.9 crores, and the team is very happy with its numbers here. The team had a delayed release in Telugu States, and this caused damage.

The film could have performed very well if it had been released simultaneously alongwith the Hindi version. But the team hopes for another big weekend here. In Maharashtra, Chhaava has already established a mighty record, beating Pushpa 2’s existing record. It has grossed more than 250 crores there, and the next target is 300 crores.

As said above, the director delivered continuous hits with Ajith Kumar, but there has always been a criticism of him that he has given very regular films with Ajith, which only worked in Tamil Nadu, and this was the reason for Ajith’s market not growing big.

On the other hand, the contemporary star, Vijay, worked with Murugadoss, Atlee, and Lokesh Kanagaraj and went on to the next level as a star hero. After Viswasam, Siva surprised everyone as he took a different path by choosing a historical film with a heavy budget with Suriya.

But the film, Kanguva, failed miserably and ended up as one of the biggest disasters in Kollywood. So, after such a big failure, Siruthai Siva definitely missed a chance to work with the trending and star heroes for his next film, and he needs to prove his worth again as a filmmaker.

At this time, Siva is said to have grabbed a good opportunity, which is to work with Vijay Sethupathi. The Kollywood circles say that the renowned actor has signed a film as a lead hero with Kanguva Director Siva. 

Certainly, this will be a good project for Siva, and with the right film, Vijay Sethupathi can have big potential at the box office, as we have seen recently with Maharaja. Siva needs to deliver fresh and blockbuster content with Vijay Sethupathi to come back in the race.

Actress Jyothika is somehow getting into the limelight for the wrong reasons. Recently, she gave a statement that heroines will not get characters that have acting scope, and they are only used to elevate the hero or dance with him. Now, Jyothika slams media bias toward Suriya’s Kanguva, but the truth is different.

In a recent interview, Jyotika mentioned about Kanguva and said “I have seen many poor-quality films win big at the box office. But the reviews were not very harsh for them. But only my husband’s film got this level of criticism. Which is not fair.

Some parts of the film may not be good. But they worked hard for the film. However, it affected me when I saw that the film received harsher reviews than some bad films. It was sad that the media was biased.”

This definitely is not a valid point from Jyothika. We have seen much more criticism for many big stars’ films, and as far as Kanguva’s content is concerned, not only were a few scenes bad, but as a whole, the film itself did not work for audiences and was a very poorly made film. 

For every film, everyone will put in hard efforts, but that only matters when they select the right scripts. Jyothika slams media bias toward Suriya’s Kanguva, but the truth is different. Kanguva was criticized more by people, not by the media or reviewers.

The audiences themselves called it a poor film, and that is why even on OTT, the film received a bad response.

The film is just about two weeks away from its theatrical release, but Empuraan is facing massive hurdles.

The non-theatrical business for this big sequel is yet to be closed, and even the OTT rights and satellite rights are also yet to be sold for the film. As the movie has been made on a massive scale and budget, the makers are quoting higher prices, and OTT platforms have now changed a lot and are doing multiple negotiations for all films. 

Business Hurdles for L2: Empuraan

The satellite market went down after the arrival of OTT. With this, Mohanlal’s Empuraan is facing massive hurdles to close the business. Even the music rights of the film are also said to not be sold yet.

L2: Empuraan Teaser Luficer Sequel

The release date is nearing, the team wants to close all the deals before release. Also, coming to the theatrical release, the Lyca Productions banner is one of the producers for this film, and Lyca’s recent films saw big failure results, such as the recent Vidaamuyarchi.

So, there might be some financial issues from Lyca’s side to Luficer’s 2nd part, and they need to get resolved as soon as possible, because Empuraan is a pan-India film, and it needs to be released in all languages.

All these hurdles need to be passed by Empuraan very quickly to get a smooth and big release. The team is confident of releasing the film on 27th March as per plan, and it does not want to change the release at any cost.
