Sankranthi films’ Overseas business and breakeven targets are out. It is widely known that there are four films competing at the box office. Mahesh Babu’s Guntur Kaaram, Teja Sajja’s Hanuman, Venkatesh’s Saindhav and Nagarjuna’s Naa Saami Ranga will be released in competition. Guntur Kaaram’s overseas rights have been sold at 21Cr. The film has to collect 5 Million to achieve the break even Overseas. The advance bookings for the film have started on a strong note.

The Indian Superhero Hanuman movie’s overseas advance bookings have opened in limited locations and the bookings are good. The overseas rights of the film are valued at 4Cr. The film has to do 1Million+ overseas for break-even.

Venkatesh’s Saindhav has also done the same business as Hanuman and well over 1 Million is needed for overseas breakeven. Nagarjuna’s Naa Saami Ranga business is valued at 2Cr and 600K is the overseas breakeven mark including all expenses.

All the films have done business as per their Combo and craze, so there should not be any problem for all of them to get the required numbers. Let’s wish the Sankranthi films will be able to achieve the breakeven for Overseas business.

Noted Bollywood lyric writer Javed Akhtar has lashed out at Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal starring Ranbir Kapoor and stated that the success of this film is a danger to society. His statements come out as Animal became a cult blockbuster and collected a whopping Rs 890 crore+ worldwide collections and several accolades for Ranbir Kapoor.

While the film was a massive success, certain scenes and dialogues from the movie turned out to be quite controversial and attracted a lot of negativity. Animal, regardless of its box-office success was criticised by many for its misogynistic content. And Javed Akhtar has now joined several others in criticizing the film.

Javed Akhtar is one of the most notable writers in Bollywood and has written screenplays and stories for several blockbusters along with lyrics for several popular songs. He is a recipient of many National Awards, Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan, and is also an ex-Rajya Sabha member.

He recently wrote a song Nikle The Kabhi Hum Ghar Se for Dunki and charged the biggest remuneration of 25 lakhs. This is the highest paid remuneration for a lyrical writer for a song in Bollywood.

Many film businesses are getting started by quoting higher prices, but they are ultimately being reduced to lesser prices with distributors’ negotiations. Lately, Prabhas’s Salaar, which was expected to do more than 30Cr business in Ceeded, was negotiated to 27Cr, and at the last minute, it was changed to 24Cr. The same thing is happening for all the big movie businesses.

However, the situation has not affected NTR’s Devara, and it is receiving record offers. The makers are expecting around 24- 25Cr business in Ceeded. The distributors are already in the race and ready to offer the amount quoted by the producers.

It is well-known that NTR is strong in Ceeded, and it is the best territory for him. Devara is a big, budget-heavy, mass-action drama, so the distributors expect it to do phenomenal business in Ceded. As said above, a glimpse of Devara will be released tomorrow.

As said above, the producers arranging the Corporate Bookings for the films was a regular thing in Bollywood, but for South Indian films, this culture was not present. Especially in Telugu, many audiences will watch a biggie on opening days irrespective of talk and make the theatres’ houses full.

Recently, Tollywood has started making pan-Indian films, and they have also begun to adapt Bollywood’s culture of Corporate Bookings to show the Hindi version’s numbers in a way.

These rumors had started at the time of the release of Pushpa Part 1, and it is alleged that by the  Bollywood trade, to achieve the 100Cr mark in Hindi, the makers of Pushpa made corporate bookings even though the movie performed exceptionally well. The trend continued for Prabhas’s Adipurush, and the corporate bookings were done for the film in the first three days.

However, Adipurush was a straight Bollywood film, so it was normal to do such things for the makers. Still, for Salaar, the latest pan-Indian film of Prabhas, there were alleged reports that the corporate bookings have happened in a massive way, which is why the film continues to show more significant numbers in Hindi.

Will Devara and Pushpa 2 follow the rend of Corporate Bookings?

Looking at these all things, it seems like this trend has become normal for Tollywood pan India films to prove the film’s hero or the film as a big success, and also it helps in regular bookings as if a few screens are shown as fast filling, then the audience will immediately book the tickets for the film.

The Tamil film industry recently held a grand event Kalaignar 100 to commemorate the centenary of Dr M Karunanidhi. While everyone expected all the stars to come together after a long time, it didn’t happen so much to the fan’s disappointment.

Vijay and Ajith are two of the biggest Kollywood stars with a massive following not just in Tamil Nadu but also neighbouring states. The biggest suspense for the past few days was whether these two stars will attend the Kalaignar 100 event. Both Vijay and Ajith did not attend the event while senior stars like Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan made their presence felt at the grand event. Even younger Kollywood stars were in attendance at Kalaignar 100.

LIC Sends Legal Notice to Pradeep Ranganathan – Krithi Shetty’s Film

LIC Sends Legal Notice to Pradeep Ranganathan and Krithi Shetty’s Film. It is widely known that the name of Vignesh Shivan’s upcoming film is LIC (Love Insurance Corporation), and it features actor-director Pradeep Ranganathan and Krithi Shetty in the lead roles. The film appears to have been in trouble after a notice was sent to the filmmakers, including Vignesh Shivan and Seven Screen Studio banner, on behalf of Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC). The insurance and investment company has sent a legal notice to the film’s team prohibiting them from using the title for the film. 

Legal action would be taken against the filmmakers for copyright infringement if they did not change the title within seven days, as stated in the notice.  We need to wait and see for an official response from the film producers. 

LIC (Love Insurance Corporation) Cast and Crew

Vignesh Shivan, Pradeep Ranganathan, and Krithi Shetty will be collaborating for the first time with the film LIC. As said above, SJ Suryah plays a crucial role in it. The film will be backed by Seven Screen Studio and Rowdy Pictures. Notably, Vignesh and Seven Screen Studio earlier worked in Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal.

It is widely known that Bollywood Star Hrithik Roshan is coming up with Fighter, the first aerial action thriller to come out of Indian Cinema. A few months back, the trade expected that the film Fighter would take a record opening as it has been made with a heavy budget. Also, the film has a combination of Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone, directed by Pathaan fame Siddharth Anand. 

The trade expected a minimum of 50Cr Net opening in India for the film a few months back. The film is getting released for Republic weekend, but it is currently carrying very low buzz as it failed to create much buzz on the film.  

The music did not work well for the film, and the teaser only worked for some audiences. Going by the trend, Bollywood audiences are not excited about action dramas like before. Recently, Salman Khan’s Tiger 3 movie’s underperformance at the box office is an example.

Getting an opening of 30Cr Net in India at the current pace also seems difficult for Fighter. The trailer has to do some magic and work well for the film. The trailer is expected to arrive around 12th January.

The movie also features Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover, and Akshay Oberoi in significant roles.  January 25th, 2024, is when Fighter will be released in theaters. Produced by Viacom18 Studios, Mamta Anand, Ramon Chibb, and Anku Pande, the film’s music is composed by Vishal-Shikhar. Fighter will also be released in 3D format.

There was no filter back then but from Baahubali Series the industry hit’s meaning was changed as a Non Rajamouli Industry Hit as there is no possibility of any other Telugu film to go near records created by him.

SSR set a different standards and market with his films. Mahesh has 2 Industry hits, one is Pokiri and the other one is Srimanthudu. The same can be said with Trivikram as he also has two industry hits, one is Attarintiki Daredi and the second one is Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo.

Now the combination of Trivikram Mahesh Babu is coming together again with Guntur Kaaram Both want to score their 3rd industry hit this time and the target is much bigger as Prabhas’s Salaar has set a huge target for Guntur Kaaram. Mahesh Babu and Trivikram aim for another Industry Blockbuster, and a big target is ahead for them.

As said above, Salaar has crossed the 200Cr share mark in the Telugu version a few days before and the film’s closing is expected to be around 210Cr worldwide share.

Breaking the numbers of Salaar is a hurricane task for Guntur Kaaram as Salaar is an event film, and it also had a solo release. Guntur Kaaram is being released in competition so the theaters count will be less, and it is not an event film like Salaar.

Can Guntur Kaaram surpass Salaar’s Numbers?

But for Guntur Kaaram the biggest advantage is the underperformance of Salaar in Andhra Pradesh. It is widely known that during the Sankranthi season Andhra Pradesh delivers huge numbers and there Mahesh’s film has to take big lead.

In Nizam Salaar has collected 70Cr+ share, and it is a very massive task to cross it. Salaar Telugu version has collected well over 10 Million Overseas. Coming to the rest of India numbers, the film has collected 18.5Cr+ share. All these are massive targets for Guntur Kaaram, and the movie should be fantastic to go near the numbers of Salaar.

Mahesh Babu and Trivikram’s Guntur Kaaram has to take bigger margin in Andhra Pradesh over Salaar and in Nizam and Overseas the movie has to collect at least 80% of Salaar’s numbers and only then Guntur K will have a possibility to cross Salaar’s collections.
