0

Amidst so many Sankranthi releases, Prashanth Varma’s Hanuman has managed to carve its distinct identity and following. There is a good craze for Hanuman premieres in Telugu states and even on a pan-Indian level, Hanuman has created a lot of buzz. The action-adventure is trending on a super sensational note in bookings, especially for the premieres.

The bookings have opened for paid premiers in India as well, and it’s trending on an extraordinary note. Coming to overseas premieres, the total advance sales are more than $100K, In India, the advance bookings for premiers are super sensational and tickets are getting sold out within minutes.

The advance bookings for premiers in India are in the range of Rs 1.1Cr. In total, the worldwide premier show gross itself is Rs2Cr which is a great number and proof of the film’s craze. Now all eyes are on 12th January and if the word of mouth comes out to be positive, then Hanuman will do wonders at the box-office.

Hanuman will be released worldwide in several Indian languages including Telugu, Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, English, Spanish, Korean, Chinese, and Japanese on January 12, 2024. It stars Teja Sajja, Amritha Aiyyer, Varalakshmi Sarathkumar and Vinay Rai in key roles.

Saindhav Requires Unanimous Positive Reviews

0

Usually for Sankranthi films an average word of mouth is enough for the film to put good numbers at the box office. If the word of mouth is unanimously positive then there are chances of the film being a blockbuster by putting in record numbers. This formula, however, applies to regular commercial entertainers, family movies, and socio-fantasies. A mixed talk for this genre can lead to good collections. But, that’s not going to be the case with Venkatesh’s Saindhav.

For Sankranthi, four films are releasing and Guntur Kaaram will be the 1st preference for many as it is a mass entertainer and family genre. After this Hanuman has also created a good buzz and it is a fantasy action film with Hanuman’s presence. Naa Saami Ranga is a mass entertainer and made specifically for Sankranthi. All these films may even work if they get mixed word of mouth or okayish talk.

But for Saindhav, the movie must get a unanimously positive talk to succeed at the box office. Whatever content has been released so far has a serious action theme and portrays a fight with drug mafia with a daughter sentiment. These kinds of action films need unanimous positive talk and reviews. Unlike other films, mixed word of mouth won’t help Saindhav.

Saindhav is all set for a grand release worldwide on January 13th for Sankranthi, 2024. Directed by Sailesh Kolanu, the film also stars Shraddha Srinath, Ruhani Sharma, Nawazuddin Siddique, and Andrea Jeremiah in key roles

The Censor killed OMG 2 box office numbers, says Amit Rai. It is widely known that the film, OMG 2, directed by Amit Rai and starring Akshay Kumar in an important role, had clashed with Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 in last August, and posted good numbers. Censor killed OMG 2 box office numbers, says Amit Rai.

OMG 2 Vs Gadar 2 was an interesting clash at the box office in last August

As said above, despite facing a Mass storm like Gadar 2, OMG 2 was able to collect 150Cr Net in India. Gadar 2 collected 525Cr Net, which was an all-time record. Director Amit Rai opened about this clash and said that his movie had received extraordinary reviews, it would have done numbers like Gadar 2 if the censor board had given a U/A certificate.

The Censor team made many cuts to the film and gave an A certificate to OMG 2, which killed the movie according to the director as family audiences were unable to watch the movie and more than half of the revenue was lost for the film.

Directo Amit Rai says the Censor Board killed his film

“The year set a record for Hindi cinema in terms of footfalls, I believe. And I feel if my film did not have the A-certificate, this record would have been even bigger. I don’t know how much this film could have done. Perhaps if it was not an A-certificate film, it would have competed with Gadar 2 at the box office, generating revenue because it would have brought the families to the theaters. The censor board killed half of my family audience when they gave it the A-rating. The censor board hurt me financially too and in terms of content as well. However, those are past times” said Amit Rai.

OMG 2 was received so well by audiences upon its theatrical release. Definitely, as the director said, there was a big impact of the A certificate on the audiences. OMG 2 also had a terrific reception at the OTT stage.

OMG 2 Storyline, Cat and Crew details

The film focuses on sex education among young people, by highlighting the prevalent misinformation to the students. Akshay Kumar plays a messenger of Lord Shiva, while Pankaj Tripathi plays a devotee of Lord Shiva named Kanti Sharan Mudgal, and Yami Gautam plays a lawyer role.

Made as a courtroom drama, OMG 2 is a sequel to the 2012 hit Oh My God, starring Paresh Rawal, Kumar, and Mithun Chakraborty in pivotal roles. In the first part, Akshay Kumar appeared as Lord Krishna, and in the sequel, he played Lord Shiva. However, due to objections and controversy regarding the subject, the character was changed to a messenger of Lord Shiva.

In Telugu, definitely Devara is the record holder, but if we consider all India views Pushpa 2 still holds the record. With the death of his father, Mahesh was away from shooting for many days. So, when he saw his fans after a longtime at today’s pre-release event of Guntur Kaaram, that pain in Mahesh was seen while he spoke about the film.

Mahesh gives a heartwarming speech at Guntur Kaaram Pre-Release Event

“Sankranthi has been excellent for me and my father. Every film released at that time became a blockbuster. This time, too, we will score a hit. But this time it was a little new. Because every time the film is released, I was thrilled to call and talk to my father about the movie’s collections and records. I used to wait for that phone call from him every time.

Because it was for the sake of his words that I worked so hard in the movies. But from now on, he is no longer there to say all of that. From now on, you (referring to his fans) have to say all those things to me. From now on, you all are my mother, my father, you are my everything. I wish to have your blessings always for me.” He also thanked the fans by saying, “I can’t do anything except raise my hands and bow down to you for the love you have showered on me for 25 years.”

Saindhav’s Grandeur Aligns Perfectly with Venkatesh’s 75th Milestone – Sailesh Kolanu

‘Saindhav,’ marking Victory Venkatesh’s 75th milestone, is the highly anticipated Pan India movie directed by the talented Sailesh Kolanu. This cinematic gift for Sankranthi is already creating a buzz with its released teaser, songs, and trailer, receiving an overwhelming response. Produced ambitiously by the renowned Venkat Boyanapalli under the Niharika Entertainment banner, the film is scheduled for release on January 13. Director Sailesh Kolanu provided insights into the film’s features during a press conference in this context.

Q: How did the ‘Saindhav’ project come to be a star?

A: After the release of ‘Hit 2,’ producer Venkat suggested that I meet Venkatesh Garu. Upon meeting him, Venkatesh Garu congratulated me on the success of the movie. Initially, our conversations were not about the film; we bonded over general life discussions in a few meetings. Eventually, we both felt it would be great to collaborate on a film. I pitched the idea of ‘Saindhav,’ and Venkatesh Garu loved it, declaring it as his 75th film. After further development and incorporating his feedback, we embarked on the shooting journey.

Q: Is there pressure to achieve a hat-trick success after two hits?

A: I always feel pressure, but my focus is on the filmmaking process. I believe that by following a sincere and honest approach, success will follow. ‘Saindhav’ was created with the same passion and commitment.

Q: Was there any pressure associated with Venkatesh’s 75th film?

A: Initially, there wasn’t much pressure, but it crept in during the last week. Watching videos of Venkatesh Garu journey created a sense of responsibility to deliver a film worthy of his milestone. However, Venkatesh Garu himself did not impose any pressure on us. We are confident that the film will live up to the expectations of being his 75th.

Q: What kind of inputs did Venkatesh provide regarding the script?

A: Venkatesh Garu, known for his expertise in investigative thrillers, offered valuable suggestions, especially in emotional scenes. His insights significantly contributed to enhancing the emotional depth of the story.

Q: Why choose popular actors like Arya, Andrea, and Ruhani for the cast?

A: Each character in the film serves a purpose in conveying a message. The actors were selected for their ability to communicate widely and bring awareness to the struggles of people with Spinal Muscular Atrophy. The intention was to reach a broader audience and make the story impactful.

Q: Why are there mostly night sequences in ‘Saindhav’?

A: Around seventy percent of the story unfolds at night, creating an exciting and captivating atmosphere. The initial introduction of characters sets a comfortable tone, but soon the audience becomes engrossed in the thrilling narrative.

Q: Did Venkatesh become a fan during this journey?

A: Yes, I mentioned at the pre-release event that having grown up watching Kamal Haasan’s films in Madras, working with Venkatesh Garu made me a fan. Venkatesh Garu close-ups and acting left a remarkable impression on me, making him an influential figure in my filmmaking journey.

Q: Whose decision was it to cast Nawazuddin?

A: It was my decision initially, and Venkatesh Garu supported the idea. We later approached the producer, Venkat. Nawazuddin’s unique role added a distinct flavor to the film, and his dubbing for the Telugu-speaking character was done with great interest.

Q: Tell us about the fictional city ‘Indraprastha’ in ‘Saindhav.’

A: ‘Indraprastha’ was created to portray a large-scale story involving drug cartels and gun business. Placing the narrative in Vizag added a sense of believability, avoiding the loss of nativity that might occur in Mumbai.

Q: How was the collaboration with the producer for such a costly movie like ‘Saindhav’?

A: Producer Venkat was clear from the beginning that he wanted to give Venkatesh Garu a great film. He provided everything needed, and the film was made without any compromises.

Q: Will there be a ‘Saindhav 2’?

A: If the audience likes ‘Saindhav,’ I am confident that a sequel will be made. Both Venkatesh Garu and I are open to doing ‘Saindhav 2’ if there is a demand from the audience.

Q: Can we expect a love story from you in the future?

A: I do have a good love story based on events in my life, and I am definitely planning to bring it to the screen.

Q: What about ‘Hit 3’?

A: ‘Hit 3’ is in the writing phase, but we believe in allowing a marination period for movies in the franchise. It is expected to take about a year and a half.

Mahesh Babu’s Guntur Kaaram Faces Targeted Negative Campaign

0

Over the last few days, there’s been a lot of negativity that’s been spread for Guntur Kaaram. Several media houses are showing a lot of unwarranted concern on issues that they never did in the past. The media houses have almost started a campaign of sorts to “save small cinema” which logically makes little sense.

Save Small Cinema Campaign

If we consider the pre-release business of the films, the Guntur Kaaram business in Telugu states is more than 105 Cr while that of all other 3 films is around Rs 55 Cr. Guntur Kaaram’s business is more than double that of the other 3 films. With the business being that huge, theatre allocation would also be in similar proportions. Despite this obvious business decision, several sections are spreading great negativity about this Trivikram film getting major theatres. It’s not like Guntur Kaaram has had complete domination in all centers. It has also faced theatre allocation issues in Andhra Pradesh and despite this, the media is portraying it as if Team Guntur Kaaram is killing small movies.

The producers and distributors are struggling to find required theatres in Andhra Pradesh. Even in Nizam, they don’t have enough theatres from 3rd day onwards like other biggies in the past. Guntur Kaaram is suffering just like other films but the media is not interested in writing about these realities and is only focussing on centers where other movies are struggling.

Complaints with Ticket Hikes

And now, a few media houses have started a negative campaign on ticket hikes as well. They are questioning why a regional film like Guntur Kaaram needs a ticket hike. This is completely agenda-based writing. For a pan-India film, the recovery can be made from other languages and there are multiple ways of achieving good business. In Telugu films, especially for the big ones, the recovery scope lies only in one language and it is extremely crucial for the film to get off to a good start. Despite the hikes, a movie will work only if the content is good and the risk still lies with the producers. Hence hikes are justified for big-budget regional films as well.

Targetted Negative Campaigns

The problem here is that a section of the media who are ultimately fixated on targeting Guntur Kaaram. They are hiding behind other movies with their negative intentions. They are targetting Dil Raju in the name of saving small cinema whereas they are least bothered about these small films. All these attempts at starting a controversy through negative campaigns about Guntur Kaaram are quite obvious and recent events are proof of the same.

Telugu Film Chamber issues a warning to media on targeting Dil Raju and other Producers

The Telugu Film Chamber issues a warning to media on targeting Dil Raju and other producers. It is widely known that recently there has been a big controversy regarding the theater allocation of Sankranthi releases. Especially, producer Dil Raju was targeted by a section of the media, and he even gave a warning to the media as he became emotional.

Dil Raju Vs Media turns out to be a battle between Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce and Media

Now, the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce, Telangana State Film Chamber of Commerce and Telugu Film Producers Council have once again given a clarification on the controversies over the release of Sankranthi films in the Telugu states. The Telugu Film Chamber issues a warning to the media on targeting Dil Raju and other Producers.

“ Our three organizations held a meeting 15 days ago regarding Telugu films on the controversies of the theaters and called the five producers who were in the race for Sankranthi and asked them to explain the ground reality and cooperate. There is a competition of films every year in Sankranthi. Similarly, this year too, five films are ready to compete. Hanuman, Eagle, Saindhav, Guntur Karam and My Sami Ranga. After accepting the request of the chamber, the film ‘Eagle’ was shifted from Sankranthi race to February 9 with the support of Vishwa Prasad Garu, Vivek Garu and heroes Ravi Teja Garu.

Fixing a mass hero’s film’s date and stepping back again is not an easy task. It is not an easy thing to do in terms of business these days, either. Thus, a mass hero came forward for the betterment of the industry and changed the release date of the film so that the other four people cooperated with the other four is a welcome good thing for the industry.

Sankranthi is a good competition in a healthy atmosphere between films. Regarding Telugu Cinema, our three companies together are leading from the front by taking decisions without causing any trouble to any hero, producer, or director.

But some social media websites and other media deliberately show their ratings, TRP during Sankranthi. They are creating an awkward atmosphere in the film industry between fans, heroes, producers, and directors by writing favorite writings and articles for themselves. We strongly condemn websites, social media and any other media that makes such derogatory remarks. Social media, websites, and other media anything.

Before writing the articles, our three organizations were contacted and informed to find out the truth and publish the news”.
