Manchu Manoj Blessed With A Baby Girl!

Manchu Manoj Kumar, the youngest son of veteran star Mohan Babu, is a notable actor in Telugu. He has a stepbrother, Vishnu, and a stepsister, Lakshmi Prasanna; both of them are actors in Tollywood.

As announced by the latter via Twitter, Manoj and Bhuma Mounika Reddy have been blessed with a baby girl on April 13, 2024. Unsurprisingly, the post went viral on the internet, and wishes from fans and celebrities started pouring in. From now on, Manoj is the father of two children.

Back in 2015, Manoj tied the knot with his longterm girlfriend Pranathi Reddy, but the marriage didn’t last long, and soon they got separated with a formal divorce. In March 2023, he married Mounika, the daughter of politicians Bhuma Nagi Reddy and Shoba Nagi Reddy. Like Manoj, Mounika is also a divorcee and has a six-year-old son from her previous marriage.

Most of the time Bollywood producers give out genuine box office collections in their movie posters. However, this trend seems to be changing with Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff’s Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. Bade Miyan Chote Miyan is a big-budget action film which released on Eid. Unfortunately, the film failed to create any positive buzz. According to Bollywood trade circles, the team did some corporate bookings to show some reasonable numbers on opening day.

The film collected 15 Cr nett in India on opening day and on the second day, the collections dropped to 7 Cr. In total after 2 days the film has collected 22 Cr nett and gross is around 26 crores. Coming to the overseas market, this action entertainer collected around 16 Cr gross which takes the total to 42 Cr.

The makers of the film on the other hand officially announced that Bade Miyan Chote Miyan has collected 55 Cr gross in 2 days. According to Bollywood trade circles, the genuine collection will be around 35 Cr and there has been a 30% exaggeration in the official posters released.

Apart from Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff, the film features Prithviraj Sukumaran in a negative role, while also starring Sonakshi Sinha, Manushi Chhillar, and Alaya F.

The film has also crossed 100 crores gross worldwide and became the no 1 choice for people during the weekends. Tillu Square’s OTT streaming date and Box office collections are as follows:

Tillu Square’s OTT streaming rights have been bought by Netflix for a whopping price. The price is also said to be 35 crores with a 4 week theatrical window. The film on the other hand is still running solid and has collected a share of around 60 crores worldwide. This is a stunning number for the film’s genre. Nizam and Overseas contributed much to the film. The share of Nizam is more than 20 crores excluding the GST and the Overseas gross is 28 crores till now. The bookings have been very good this weekend. Sri Rama Navami holiday will also bring in good number of audience further. The worldwide gross may further go close to 110 or 120 then.

Tillu Square will stream on Netflix from 26th or 27th of April. The film will perform good even on OTT as well.

Family Star starring Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur bombed at the Box office. The film which carried hype before its release didn’t live up to the expectations. It received poor reviews from the first show itself and never recovered afterwards. Family Star’s OTT streaming date and Box office collection details are as follows:

Family Star has managed to collect around 15 crores share worldwide which is very shocking considering the budget and the business done. Buyers have lost more than 70% of the investment from the film. The advance bookings for the film for the weekend have also been disastrous and it can’t raise the momentum further. The worldwide closing share would be less than 18 crores. This is a outright disaster.

Family Star will stream on Leading OTT Giant, Amazon Prime from 3rd May. The film has a happening pair of Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur. It also brought back the blockbuster combo of Parasuram and Vijay Deverakonda after Geetha Govindam but nothing worked for the film. The trailer and songs released didn’t bring buzz to the film although it felt these might get overshadowed after the film’s release. Producer Dil Raju and team did so much to raise the film’s momentum but those tactics didn’t work. The film’s mouth talk was very bad and weekend performance was too disastrous. All these added to the embarrassing failure of Family Star.

Gopichand’s Bhimaa – OTT Details Out

‘Macho Star’ Gopichand has been having a rough patch for the past few years, facing back-to-back failures. Unsurprisingly, the actor took a brief break from acting and came out with a commercial potboiler film, Bhimaa (2024). Helmed by A. Harsha, this is a cop action drama with a fantasy touch.

After posting decent opening numbers, Bhimaa went on to perform well in some areas on the weekdays. The film even outperformed Vishwak Sen’s Gaami (2024) during the second weekend. But overall, the film emerged as an ‘average’ grosser at the box office. While it may not be a clean ‘Hit’, it is not a total failure either.

Having said that, Bhimaa deserves a second chance, at least on the small screens; as officially announced, it is set to premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on April 25, 2024. With music composed by Ravi Basur, the film stars Priya Bhavani Shankar and Malavika Sharma as the female leads.

Rakul Preet Singh, a notable actress in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi films, is creating ripples in the field of business. The Punjabi bombshell who broke a million hearts after tieing a knot with actor-producer Jackky Bhagani has come up with a unique restaurant venture in Kavuri Hills, Hyderabad.

Godzilla x Kong Hits 100 Cr in India

Godzilla x Kong was released amidst good buzz and hype all over the world and the anticipation for this project was quite high in India as well. This latest addition to MonsterVerse is having an amazing run in India and has now joined the 100 Cr gross club.

Tamil Nadu was the biggest market for the film and contributed more than 25 Cr gross. In Telugu states, Godzilla x Kong collected around 15 Cr gross. Karnataka collected more than 10 Cr gross while Kerala brought in the makers more than 5 Cr gross. 

Only in south India, Godzilla x Kong has collected more than 55 Cr gross. Total all India gross is more than 100 Cr . The film is holding pretty well this weekend with good bookings.

In Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire, Kong sets out on an adventure into the Hollow Earth, where he encounters other creatures of his species. Teaming up with Godzilla, they ally against their oppressive ruler Skar King. The MonsterVerse film also stars Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, Dan Stevens, Kaylee Hottle, Alex Ferns among others, and is directed by Adam Wingard.

Prabhas’ Kalki 2898 AD is undoubtedly the next big film in Tollywood and Indian cinema. The film is being made on a massive budget and it is a multipart film. The first part is planned to be released on 30th May. The movie is being shot on a grand scale with a unique blend of sci-fi and Hindu mythology. Hence, the makers are confident that it will work well at the Box office. 

Due to this confidence, the makers quoted record prices for all territories and the prices are bigger than RRR. The buyers, on the other hand, feel it is very risky to offer producer-quoted prices. The offers from distributors are nowhere near to producer’s quoted prices leading to delays.

With massive confidence in the content, the Kalki 2898 AD team is opting for its own release in all territories by just taking advances from distributors on a full recovery basis. So now the total risk and profits are directly for the producers of this film.

The film features a massive ensemble cast of Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, and Disha Patani among a list of other surprise appearances. Nag Ashwin has already stated that Kalki will show something that’s never been attempted in Indian cinema before.

Ajay Devgan’s latest film, Maidaan is big big-budget film. It is made with 250 crores budget on a large scale directed by Amit Sharma. The film opened to positive word of mouth on 10th April but the opening is a shocking one. Maidaan opened with disastrous numbers by collecting nearly 7.25 crores nett in India including premieres. The team immediately came to a decision to distribute a ticket free for Maidaan.

There is a buy one-get one free offer for Maidaan from Day 2 itself. This didn’t move the audience as they are still reluctant to watch the film. It continued the same momentum even on its Day 2. Audience not turning to theatre to use this offer shows how pathetic the situation is. Trade analysts are expecting the film to close around 30 crores nett in India in its full run. This will be quite embarrassing for Ajay Devgan who has scored big hit with Drishyam 2.

Maidaan has been postponed several times and the team felt summer season would be a good time but it didn’t change the fate of the film. Maidaan is a real life drama based on Syed Abdul Rahim, a football coach. It also stars Priyamani in the female lead role.

Is Premalu Overrated?

Malayalam film, Premalu became a sensation by grossing more than 100 crores worldwide. It received unanimous positive reviews after its release in Malayalam and ended up collecting nearly 135 crores gross worldwide. The film with its hype and performance attracted Telugu buyers as well. SS Karthikeya, son of SS Rajamouli bought the rights and distributed the film in Telugu States. It did very well here as well grossing nearly 15 crores. But after its OTT release, there has been a talk that Premalu is Overrated. Let’s discuss.

Premalu is a rom-com entertainer. It arrived today on OTT on Aha in Telugu and Disney+Hotstar in Malayalam. Reviews coming in from the OTT Audiences are mixed. One section of people are posting positive response after watching the film while some sections of people are terming it as Overrated. They also feel that the film was just okay but received too much appreciation.

Premalu was even made with a low-star cast in Malayalam. But it is now striking chords to other language people. The film performed very well even in Telugu state by grossing 15 crores. It also became the highest-grossing Telugu Dubbed Malayalam film here. But now many Telugu people feel that the film is overrated because of Internet endorsement.
