Ram Charan and Buchi Babu’s rural action drama Peddi has been announced for a grand theatrical release on March 27, 2026. There are many days left for the release date, but the unit is not relaxed. The team of Peddi is working nonstop to finish things as per the plan.

As said above, Ram Charan’s Peddi team is working nonstop to release the film as scheduled. Both shooting and editing of the film are happening in parallel. The biggest plus point for the film is that after a success like Uppena, Buchi Babu’s image grew big, so he started the film with all preparation.

More than 50% of the movie’s work is said to be completed, and the entire shoot will be finished by this year’s end or early 2026.

Also, the makers announced that the first single of the film is arriving very soon. There is a buzz that the movie’s unit is planning to release the song for the Dasara festival.

Last night in Hyderabad, they held a success party for the superhero movie featuring Kalyani Priyadarshan. Kalyani Priyadarshan, the leading lady, showed up at the event along with director Dominic Arun, hero Naslen, and producer Dulquer Salmaan.

Dulquer talked about the movie’s budget in his speech. Everyone knows that Lokah’s team dropped about Rs. 30-40 crore on this project.

All the profits of Lokah Part 1 & other parts, I’m going to share with all of the team. Because they are truly deserving of this. For Part 1 there are zero expectations, even for the teaser & trailer. We have more responsibility now to deliver big for other parts.”

Meanwhile, the fans are super curious about when the next chapter of the Lokah universe is dropping. But we have to wait until the director, Dominic Arun, opens up about it.

Ghaati: Pushparaj Calls Sheelavathi

Anushka Shetty’s ‘Ghaati’ is all set to hit the screens worldwide in a few hours. The actress is doing offline promotions for the film, and as a part of the new promotional technique, the team arranged a phone call between Pushparaj and Sheelavathi (Anushka’s character name in the movie).

The audio of Anushka’s telephonic conversation with Allu Arjun has been officially released by the production house UV Creations. In the phone call, which is about six minutes long, Allu Arjun asked several questions, and Anushka gave interesting answers. “Should I call you Ghaati now or sweetie?” Anushka replied, “I am always Sweetie for you.”

Prime Video Announces Coolie Premiere Date

Rajinikanth and Lokesh Kanagaraj’s action drama, Coolie, was released in theaters this Independence Day weekend and received mixed responses from audiences and critics. Now, the film’s OTT premiere date has been announced by Prime Video. 

Clashing with War 2 at the box office, the film has collected 510 Cr gross worldwide for two weeks, and it is almost at the end of its box office run. Lately, Prime Video officially announced 11th September as Rajinikanth’s Coolie’s premiere date for South Indian languages.

The Hindi version will stream in mid-October, as it was released in national multiplexes with an 8-week theatrical window rule.

OG Impact: Tough Days Ahead for Other Releases

The upcoming biggie of Telugu cinema, OG, starring Pawan Kalyan, is continuously building a monumental hype among audiences and PSPK fans. The other releases from Telugu Cinema will have a tough time ahead with the impact created by OG. 

This month, multiple films are getting released in theaters. Tomorrow, Ghaati, Madharaasi, and Little Hearts are releasing, and next weekend, Mirai and Kishkindhapuri are releasing in theaters.

This weekend films saw low advance bookings despite big names. There is definitely pre-release content impact for such poor response, and one main impact for all these films is the crazy film OG arriving on 25 September.

Most audiences cannot spend the money for all the movies. When a crazy film is due for release in a few days, the impact will be very big on the films releasing prior to it. Because audiences will already decide to watch that big film and spend that amount on that. 

So, because of the crazy film OG releasing on 25th September, pulling audiences towards theaters will not be an easy task for other releases that arrive before the biggie. All the movies should open with extremely positive reviews to have decent collections.

New GST Rates Effect On Movies

Ever since the announcement of the New GST Tax Regime arrived, the cinephiles were curious to know how it affects the movies’ ticket rates. However, the new GST rates do not have much effect on movies/theaters.

After Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s latest news about lower GST rates, the GST Council made a big announcement on Wednesday, changing the GST categories for different goods. Starting September 22, 2025, the new rates of 5% and 18% will kick in.

Back in the day, movie tickets priced at Rs 100 or less came with a 12% GST. Now, it’s just 5% in the new and improved slab. But tickets priced over Rs 100 still have an 18% GST rate.

Because of a big 7% cut in GST for tickets under ₹100, ticket prices at single-screen theaters will drop. However, the question is most of the single screens have very few classes that have the ticket rate under Rs 100.

So, the new GST rates will not make much difference to the current movie ticket rating system in Telugu states.

Gaali Janardhan Reddy’s son, Kireeti, made his debut with Junior. The film was released in theaters in July and did some reasonable business at the box office. Junior OTT streaming details are out now.
