War 2 to Stream From This Date

Hrithik Roshan and NTR’s much-awaited War 2 was released in theaters on August 14th and ended up with a disappointing result at the box office. The latest news is that the film will stream on OTT soon.

The OTT giant Netflix has bought the digital rights of the action drama. So, the OTT viewers can stream War 2 on Netflix from 9th October in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil languages.

Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the film belongs to the YRF Spy Universe, a collection of spy action movies. It features other movies like ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ (2012), ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ (2017), ‘War,’ ‘Pathaan’ (2023), and ‘Tiger 3’ (2023).

There were high expectations for the film, primarily due to the exciting South and North pairing of NTR and Hrithik Roshan as the leads. Unfortunately, the movie failed to captivate audiences and turned out to be a major box office disappointment.

Ustaad Bhagat Singh is definitely not going to be Powerstar Pawan Kalyan’s final film. While he might not work on movies frequently, he will undoubtedly continue his career, with an OG prequel and sequel being the most likely choices for his upcoming projects.

OG Brings Back Special Song

OG, the action drama starring Pawan Kalyan and directed by Sujeeth, is performing well at the box office on its fourth day. To boost the film’s long run, the makers have decided to add Neha Shetty’s special song back into the movie.

Although Neha Shetty had filmed a special song for OG, the team trimmed it out before the theatrical release. Since then, fans have been requesting the makers to release the song. Responding to these demands, the team has now decided to add it from tomorrow.

This move is expected to work in favor of the film, as it will encourage fans to revisit theaters during the Dasara festival holiday, thereby helping its overall box office performance. Reports suggest the song will be placed in the second half of the movie.

Speaking about the decision, music director Thaman said, “We initially felt Neha Shetty’s special song was a hurdle to the flow of the film, so we removed it. Now, we have found a new way to bring it back with a fresh perspective, and we will be doing it soon.”

NTR has committed to 3 films after Prashant Neel’s Dragon. The first one is Devara 2; the second one is with director Nelson, and recently he also announced a film with Trivikram. Fans were eagerly anticipating which of the three films would be released first.

One thing is confirmed: NTR’s next project after Dragon is Devara 2 only, and it is set to go on floors at this year’s end or early 2026. There is a buzz that after this project NTR will likely start Trivikram’s project. 

NTR to start Nelson’s film in 2027

Since Nelson will be occupied with Jailer 2 until June or July next year, he will need additional time to finish the pre-production and script work for the NTR film. As a result, the Nelson project is expected to begin filming in 2027.

This suggests that among his three committed films after Dragon, NTR will probably take on Devara 2 first, then the Trivikram project in 2026, and finally collaborate with Nelson Dilipkumar in 2027.

OG, Pawan Kalyan’s latest action drama, has already achieved breakeven overseas, and the film is already in profits, and in Nizam, it has recovered 65% in 3 days. But coming to AP Buyers, they are carrying the biggest risk for OG.

The Nizam recovery will be more than 70% for the first weekend, and a decent hold for the film is enough to go close to break-even. That is why Andhra Pradesh buyers are carrying huge risk with OG, as the recovery is less compared to other territories. 

Indeed, the film’s area-wise business happened for 24 Cr, and the 3-day share is 10.5 Cr, which means the total recovery for the weekend will be just 50%, and it needs another 50% recovery after the weekend, which looks tough, going by the current trend.

The situation is the same in Andhra as well, with the 6 territories’ business ratio being around 80 Cr. But the film has collected around 41 Cr for 3 days, which includes hires in a few areas along with minimum guarantees as well. So if we observe each area rights-wise, the buyers did not have a recovery of even 50% for 3 days.

So with all these, the movie needs a strong hold after the weekend and needs a big jump on the Dasara festival to get the recovery for buyers.

Pawan Kalyan’s OG is having a successful weekend at the box office, and even though the film is not seeing huge numbers after opening day, it is maintaining the hold. Day 3 did not have any fall from Day 2, as it held on par with Day 2.

For 3 days, the action drama has collected a 120 Cr+ share in Telugu, and as the breakeven is valued at 180 Cr, a 2/3 recovery has been achieved for the film already. The trade expects it to see good numbers at the box office today.

Thereafter, the film needs to collect another 50 Cr share for success. This is definitely possible if the film holds good momentum during the Dasara holidays.
