Peddi OTT Release This Week: Ram Charan Film on Netflix

After a fairly decent box office performance, Ram Charan’s Peddi, directed by Buchi Babu, is all set to arrive on OTT this week. The rural sports drama has secured Netflix streaming rights, with an official announcement expected soon.

Box Office Performance

The film was released in theatres on June 4th with high expectations. While Peddi performed well in the Telugu States, the rural sports drama couldn’t meet overall expectations due to its weak performance in overseas markets and other language versions.

With around ₹335 crore gross at the worldwide box office, the film has almost completed its theatrical run.

Netflix Streaming Dates

Netflix has acquired Peddi’s digital rights. The South Indian versions are expected to start streaming this week, most likely on July 2 or July 3, while the Hindi version is expected to arrive on July 30th.

The streaming giant has been actively adding major Telugu releases, including recent post-theatrical premieres like Ustaad Bhagat Singh.

The film will journey through the dense wilderness of Africa, the icy terrains of Antarctica, mythical gods from the Ramayana, devastating natural disasters, and spectacular fantasy worlds. The globe-trotting narrative spans thousands of years, combining sci-fi elements with deep-rooted mythology.

Emotional Core: Father-Son Bond

Despite the massive scale and visual grandeur, Rajamouli emphasized that Varanasi is fundamentally an emotional story. The father’s role is reportedly being played by Prakash Raj, while Mahesh Babu portrays Rudra. This father-son relationship serves as the driving force behind the entire narrative, grounding the epic adventure in human emotion.

Production Update: Filming Progress

Rajamouli shared an important production update during his appearance. All large-scale spectacle sequences and IMAX action scenes have been completed. The team is currently filming the smaller interconnecting scenes that bridge the major set pieces together. Principal photography is expected to wrap between September and October 2026.

Cast and Release Details

Varanasi stars Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Prithviraj Sukumaran in lead roles. With its unique blend of mythology, fantasy, action, and emotional storytelling, the film is shaping up to be one of the biggest cinematic events in Indian cinema. Big Update on Sai Durga Tej’s SYG!

Sambarala Yetigattu (SYG) is an epic action drama starring Supreme Hero Sai Durga Tej in the lead role. The film is currently progressing at a brisk pace, and the makers have now officially locked its theatrical release date. Aadarsha Kutumbam is set for a grand worldwide release on October 2, coinciding with the Gandhi Jayanti holiday, giving the family drama a festive release window.
