Hyderabad to Get India’s Second Biggest IMAX

A spectacular cinematic destination is coming to Hyderabad, with a state-of-the-art IMAX theatre set to open near the Hakimpet Air Base. Revealed during the promotions of ‘Kubera’, Asian Suniel shared exciting details about the project, which promises to redefine movie experiences in the city.

The upcoming IMAX will boast a massive 70-foot screen, making it the 2nd largest in the country after the iconic Wadala IMAX in Mumbai. Interestingly, this screen will also surpass the size of PCX, adding to the excitement among filmgoers. The theatre is being developed as a premium single-screen experience, similar to PVR Priya in Delhi, with a direct ground-level entry and an exclusive design focused entirely on one grand auditorium.

In addition to the giant IMAX screen, the ground floor of the building will feature five European-style mini theatres. These smaller screens will offer a boutique viewing experience alongside fine dining restaurants and designer stores, inspired by the ambience of Chennai’s Palazzo cinemas.

With construction expected to be completed in two years, the IMAX is scheduled for a grand opening in 2027. This ambitious project is set to become a major attraction for cinema lovers in Hyderabad and beyond.

Top Distributor, financier, and Producer Suniel Narang has shockingly resigned from his post as President of Telangana State Film Chamber of Commerce. The Producer said that his name was forcefully associated with the public statements, and they are not connected to him.

Suniel Narang said that he was never consulted before making the public statements, and he is not responsible for any actions or comments. He stated that it would be challenging to continue in the role and requested that the Chamber find a suitable successor to ensure the organisation’s smooth functioning.

The Exhibitors/Distributor and Producer war has taken an ugly form in recent times. A Few Distributors also conducted a press meet, officially lambasting the attitude of Actors and Producers. A strike was also called recently to discuss the issues of the theatres, which caused a major controversy.

But one thing which looked odd was these exhibitors deciding the remuneration of the Actors. They objected to Actors receiving huge remuneration, which felt completely unnecessary. The remunerations are offered by Producers, which depend on the markets of the Actors. Sometimes these also involve factors of the OTT and satellite markets apart from theatricals.

So, the Exhibitors and Distributors must have discussions with the Producers and also question their bargaining attitude in quoting higher prices, but not deciding the remuneration of the Actors and budgets of the films.

Tollywood Director Trivikram is yet to take up his next project. The Director last worked for his Guntur Kaaram starring Mahesh Babu. He made plans later to collaborate with Allu Arjun and Ram Charan. However, both the Actors are currently busy with their films, and the Director has also considered Venkatesh. Because of such pan-Indian success, Baahubali and Pushpa created massive buzz for part 2, and everyone knows how big the sequels of the films worked and brought massive profits for the makers.

A result like Indian 2 can put Hari Hara Veera Mallu in danger

So, if AM Ratnam, as a producer, wants to go safe with part 1 itself by selling the rights, it is not possible at this moment, as there is a huge difference between his quoted prices and distributors’ offers. He should sell the rights for moderate prices.

But the major risk is, if part 1 fails, then the producer will be in a complete mess. For example, Indian 2 faced a massive setback at the box office, and the next part’s release is in doubt because of such failure.

The experienced producer AM Ratnam needs to take a calculated risk to get rid of this situation, but the irony is, there is no guarantee that his risk will pay off.
