Shocking Start: Kantara 1 USA Pre-Sales Weak

0

Rishabh Shetty’s Kantara Chapter 1, a prequel to the blockbuster Kantara (2022), is all set to be released in theaters on October 2nd. However, contrary to the expectations, the film’s pre-sales are weak in the USA.

Normally franchise films always see a huge opening at the box office, and everyone knows that Kantara is a pan-India blockbuster that has worked massively in Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi.

But somehow Kantara Chapter 1 is not carrying the buzz at the level of Baahubali 2, KGF-2, and Pushpa-2. The USA advance bookings opened long back, but still the premiere’s advances are at just 150K.

Except for the trailer, the team did not do any promotions, which surprised everyone. We need to see why the team is keeping the film in such a low profile.

In India, advance bookings will begin this weekend, and it will be interesting to see how the trend picks up. One thing is certain: despite the film’s low buzz, if it gets positive word-of-mouth, it will perform exceptionally well at the box office, as this genre tends to appeal to a wide range of audiences.

Maybe Rishab Shetty and his team are intentionally avoiding promotions and thinking along the same lines.

OG – Special Song Trimmed

0

Pawan Kalyan fans are ecstatic as their long-awaited movie, “They Call Him OG,” hit theaters today following last night’s premieres. While they are thoroughly enjoying the film, some fans have pointed out that the special song featuring Neha Shetty was trimmed from the final version.

Reports suggest that Neha Shetty, known for her role in DJ Tillu, performed a special song for the film, which she had officially confirmed some time ago. However, the makers decided to cut the song from the final version of the film, possibly thinking it might disrupt the flow of the story.

Neha Shetty’s Song removed from OG

The team held an official press meet recently, and when a media person inquired about Neha Shetty’s special song from getting trimmed from OG, Sujeeth clarified that they never mentioned having an item or special song in the film.

Recently in Mirai, the song “Vibe Undhi” was missing from the movie on its first day but was added back later. Additionally, a song featuring Nidhhi Agarwal was removed from the film.

Similarly, in Vijay Deverakonda’s Kingdom, the Hridayam Lopala song was removed, sparking a discussion on social media on the very first day.

After a long gap, Anushka Shetty came before audiences with Ghaati, the action drama that ended up as a big failure at the box office. The film is now all set to stream on OTT tonight.

Directed by Krish, the film stars Anushka Shetty with Vikram Prabhu in a crucial role and was released on 5th September, and as said above, it was a big failure in theaters and did not even gather respectable numbers, at least.

Anushka Shetty’s Ghaati arrives on OTT tonight

Reports hinted that the film would be a game-changer for Anushka, much like Pushpa was for Allu Arjun, but when it hit theaters, it left audiences deeply disappointed.

Within just 3 weeks the film is hitting the OTT. The digital rights of this film were acquired by Prime Video for a huge price due to the actress-director combination.

Anushka Shetty’s Ghaati will be available for streaming from tonight (26 September) in all languages on Prime Video.

OG All India Premieres: Smashes All-Time Record

0

Pawan Kalyan’s OG sees a tremendous response for premieres even though the ticket prices are massive. The film sets records in most of the centers in Telugu states for special shows.

In both Telugu states the film has collected a double-digit gross from the premieres, and in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and the rest of India everywhere the shows saw solid numbers.

Overall, for all India premieres alone, the film, OG, sees 25 Cr+ gross opening as per early estimates. This is the all-time record by a huge margin, and no film has collected even 20 Cr for special shows to date.

The film has opened to decent to good ratings and reviews from critics, with fans giving it overwhelmingly positive feedback. From the perspective of neutral audiences, the movie is considered watchable or decent.

Prabhas and Maruthi’s Horror Comedy The Raja Saab is all set to arrive in theaters on Sankranthi 2026. The makers are planning grand promotions for the film, and the film’s first trailer runtime details are out now.

The Raja Saab Trailer Can Bring Huge Buzz to the Film

Horror comedies always work well with audiences, and with the pan-Indian stardom of Prabhas and Sankranthi season, the Maruthi directorial could bring massive box office numbers if it gets good talk from audiences.

Let’s wait and watch what will be the response to the biggest promotional content of the film arriving with Kantara Chapter 1 on October 2nd in theaters.

Akhanda 2 Release Date Locked

0

The fans of Nandamuri Balakrishna eagerly await the release of Akhanda 2. The film has gained significant popularity among audiences and within the trade circles as well. The latest news is that the release date of Akhanda 2 is locked.

According to the inside reports of the Telugu film industry, Balakrishna’s Akhanda 2 will be released on 5th December, 2025. Already this has been communicated to media people and distributors, and the official announcement will be out very soon.

Also, the makers are planning to release a teaser on the occasion of the Dasara festival. As said above, the film has a good craze in business circles, and it cracked a massive deal with a leading digital platform as well.

Directed by Boyapati Sreenu, the sequel of Akhanda also stars Samyuktha, Bajrangi Bhaijaan fame Harshali Malhotra, and Aadhi Pinisetty in crucial roles. Thaman S handles the film’s music.

RRR Kalki Pushpa 2 And OG

0

Pawan Kalyan’s “They Call Him OG” created several records with its pre-sales. Now, on its first day at the box office, the film is receiving a decent response. Also, OG joins RRR, Kalki, and Pushpa 2 in North America.

RRR became the first film to open with 3 million premieres for an Indian film in North America as it gathered 3.5M. Later Kalki 2898 AD, with 3.9M, joins the club, and it also breaks the RRR opening and still continues as the all-time record opener.

Pushpa 2 became the third film to join this elite club with 3.35M. Rajinikanth’s Coolie, with 3.04M, joins this club from Kollywood. Now Pawan Kalyan’s OG joins this club, and the surprising thing is, budget- or span-wise, it is nowhere near RRR, Kalki, and Pushpa 2.

But still it managed to join the elite club, which shows Pawan Kalyan’s massive box office power.

OG with 3.1M+ (few locations yet to report) also surpasses Coolie’s opening and becomes the biggest Indian opener of 2025 in North America. The locations have yet to report, and we need to see where it lands at the end.

OG Movie Review: Sujeeth’s Tribute to Pawan Kalyan with a Mix of Highs and Lows

0

Movie Name: OG
Rating: 2.75/5
Cast:
Pawan Kalyan, Priyanka Arul Mohan, Emraan Hashmi, Prakash Raj, Sriya Reddy, and others
Director: Sujeeth
Produced By:
 DVV Entertainment
Release Date: 25th September 2025

Pawan Kalyan’s OG is one of the most anticipated movies from the Telugu film industry in recent times. Directed by Sujeeth, a self-proclaimed fan of Pawan, the film has generated immense excitement with its intriguing promos and posters. It has already broken records with its advance ticket sales, so let’s dive into the review to see if it lives up to the hype.

Story:

Ojas Gambera, known as OG (Pawan Kalyan), is the last surviving member of a legendary Samurai clan from Japan. He is adopted by Satya Dada (Prakash Raj), who moves to Bombay from Japan. OG becomes Satya Dada’s most trusted ally and a powerful protector in times of danger. However, destiny takes a turn, and OG leaves both Satya Dada and Bombay. The story unfolds as it explores the reasons behind Gambheera’s departure and what drives him to return.

Performances:

Pawan Kalyan takes on the lead role in OG, and director Sujeeth ensures his favorite hero is portrayed powerfully and stylishly. The actor looks striking on screen and captivates with his presence. In terms of acting, there are moments where he delivers intensity with remarkable finesse.

Priyanka Arul Mohan takes on the female lead, and despite her limited screen time, she leaves a good impression. Emraan Hashmi plays the antagonist, and while his introduction sparks interest, his character eventually becomes a typical villain.

Prakash Raj’s character may not have scope, but it demands an actor of his caliber. Arjun Das leaves an impression, though there was room for more. Sriya Reddy gets a solid role with some impactful moments, and she nails it. Subhalekha Sudhakar, Harish Utthaman, Abhimanyu Singh, and the rest of the supporting cast perform their roles effectively.

Analysis:

Sujeeth, famous for Saaho, serves as the writer and director of OG. This action drama brings a fresh setting while staying true to the classic drama formula. The story kicks off with an intriguing introduction to the hero before transitioning to Bombay.

The port area backdrop, Satya Dada’s introduction, and the villains’ gang scenes are well-presented, followed by the impactful entrance of the hero. From there, the story unfolds in a back-and-forth manner that maintains intrigue, though it leaves a slight yearning for something more striking.

Sujeeth really raises the stakes with the pre-interval and interval episodes hitting perfectly, and the second half kicks off with a bang as Gambheera returns to Bombay. The police station scene is absolutely fantastic.

After that, a few more hero moments land well, but the drama surrounding the Arjun Das character feels underwhelming. The twist is decent but could have delivered a stronger impact. The connection to Saaho is cleverly woven into the story, but it falls short of meeting audience expectations.

The climax perfectly sets the tone once more, seamlessly tying the action sequences with the Japan gang wars storyline.

Positives:

  • Pawan Kalyan’s Presentation/Screen Presence
  • High Moments
  • Thaman’s Background Score

Negatives:

  • A Few Boring Moments
  • Weak Villains
  • Underwhelming use of Important Characters and Plot Twists

OG Movie Review and Verdict:

Sujeeth did a good job showcasing his favorite hero, Pawan Kalyan, in a decent gangster drama with OG. The film has several theater-worthy moments, though the emotional depth and villain characters could have been stronger. It’s a decent one-time watch for Pawan’s fans and action genre lovers.

Rajamouli, Prashant Neel, Lokesh Kanagaraj and Sujeeth

0

Director Sujeeth has gained a big craze with OG, starring Pawan Kalyan. The film’s posters and promos made fans go crazy. The film has brought Sujeeth into the league of Rajamouli, Prashant Neel, and Lokesh Kanagaraj.

Sujeeth joins the elite club of the directors who scored back-to-back 100 Cr films with OG. SS Rajamouli scores two 100 Cr openers with Baahubali 2 and RRR.

Prashant Neel also achieves the same feat with KGF 2 and Salaar. Recently, Lokesh Kangaraj’s films, Leo and Coolie, collected 100 Cr on day 1.

Now Sujeeth joins this big club, as he already scored the same with Saaho, which opened with more than 100 Cr, and now Pawan Kalyan’s OG is all set to repeat the feat at the box office.

Sky will be the limit if the movie gets positive talk from audiences and critics, and it will be out in another few hours.
