Exclusive: SSMB 29 Shifts Gears – Action Done, Song Shoot Begins

Rajamouli has taken a lot of time to start shooting for SSMB 29. He and Mahesh Babu spent a long time on pre-production work and rehearsals to make everything perfect before going to the sets. The team recently started shooting in Hyderabad and finished a schedule there. After that, they moved to Odisha for the next schedule.

In Odisha, the team completed filming an action sequence. Right now, they are shooting a song under the choreography of Raju Sundaram. This song shoot is expected to be completed by March 22nd.

Once this schedule is done, the team will not take a long break. Within just 10 days, they will begin another schedule at Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad. This movie is a mix of action and mythological elements, which makes it appealing not just in India but also in international markets.

The film has a strong star cast. Prithviraj Sukumaran is playing the villain, while Priyanka Chopra is the lead actress. The movie is being made on a huge budget, and the makers are planning to release it in the summer of 2027.

Chhaava creates history: First 300 crore grosser in Maharashtra

Chhaava starring Vicky Kaushal had a rampage at the box office even in its 5th weekend. The film has collected more than 20 crore Nett on its 5th weekend in India which is just sensational. For 31 days, Chhaava collected around 520 crores Nett in Hindi and around 625 crores gross. Half of it has come from Maharashtra alone which is phenomenal.

Chhaava also becomes the first film to gross more than 300 crores gross in Maharashtra. The Telugu version also did well on its 2nd weekend raking in a gross of 16-17 crores. The total gross in India till 16th March is around 640 crores. With the overseas numbers, the total worldwide gross will be closer to 750 crores and is set for 800 crore+ in its full run.

This is definitely a great achievement for the team and Vicky Kaushal especially. The film has been delayed for release but has struck gold now. However, the film will short of the coveted 1000 crore gross mark worldwide.

Kiran Abbavaram’s ‘Dilruba’, failed to keep the momentum following the huge success of ‘KA’. Before the film’s release, the movie team was confident in its success and even scheduled premieres. However, from its first showing, ‘Dilruba’ garnered unfavorable reviews and terrible word of mouth, which had a considerable impact on its box office results.

The film made a disappointing ₹1.1 crore on its first day, including premieres. Collections continued to drop over the weekend, rather than increasing. Day 2 collections dropped than the first day, and Day 3 saw tremendous decline, indicating lack of public engagement.

After the first weekend, ‘Dilruba’ earned only ₹2.25 crore gross, with a share of less than ₹1 crore. Given this tendency, these figures are expected to be the film’s final box office total, representing a significant setback for Kiran Abbavaram.

This failure is in stark contrast to the smash triumph of ‘KA’. The bad reception and mediocre collections indicate that ‘Dilruba’ failed to connect with moviegoers, underlining the box office’s unpredictability. Kiran Abbavaram will now have to reconsider his plans for future projects.
