0

‘Natural Star’ Nani is the only actor with a staggering nine one-million-dollar films under his name. Often times, the films that underperform in the regional markets end up making profits in the USA. Vivek Athreya’s Ante Sundaraniki is a classic example of it.

Nani is all set to return to big screens with Saripodha Sanivaaram, a vigilante thriller directed by Vivek Athreya. The advance bookings of the film in USA have started with very strong note. The movie advance bookings crosses $150K and heading towards Nani’s career biggest Premiers

A few positive reviews is what it takes for Nani to score his 10th one-million-dollar film. Bankrolled by D. V. V. Danayaa under the banner ‘DVV Entertainments’, it features Priyanka Arul Mohan and S. J. Suryah as the female lead and antagonist, respectively. Jakes Bejoy is the music composer.

Actor-politician Pawan Kalyan slammed Allu Arjun for his portrayal of ‘Pushpa Raj’, a redsandlewood smuggler in Sukumar’s action drama Pushpa: The Rise. For obvious reasons, this didn’t go well with Allu fans on social media.

Kancharla Chandrasekhar Reddy, former politician and the father-in-law of Allu Arjun, hit back at the deputy chief minister of Andhra Pradesh regarding the same issue. Iterating that the NDA-led government awarded Arjun with ‘Best Actor’, he questioned how Pawan, who is part of the same alliance, can criticize such an actor.

Mr. Reddy went on to explain that it’s the character ‘Pushpa Raj’, who is a smuggler, and not Allu Arjun. It must be seen how the OG star will react to these sensible comments. Follow us for more such exciting content.

Vetrimaaran Repeating Shankar’s Mistake?

0

Shankar Shanmugham is one of the most prolific filmmakers of Indian cinema. Known for his extensive use of VFX, he has created over a dozen monumental films in the past three decades. However, he has had a forgettable phase in recent times.

His last theatrical release, Indian 2, was a colossal disaster at the box office. Multiple experts believe that it was Shankar’s decision to split the story into two parts that paved the way for its failure. Following the debacle of the first installment, Indian 3 is in trouble.

If you look at the recent happenings of Tamil cinema, you sense history repeating there. Vetrimaraan, another ace filmmaker of Kollywood, is currently working on Viduthalai 2, a sequel to Viduthalai (2023). According to reports, this project too is very likely to get split into parts considering its excessive runtime and budget.

0

‘Super Star’ Rajinikanth will be next seen in an action drama film called ‘Coolie’. Written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, it is produced by Kalanithi Maran under the banner ‘Sun Pictures’. Anirudh Ravichander is the music composer.

Coolie is a standolone film and not part of Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU). In spite of that, Kanagaraj reportedly wants to make it special by casting actors across languages to give it a pan-Indian touch. Which is the reason why Amitabh Bachchan, Shruti Hassan, and Rana Daggubati have been roped to play supporting characters.

On the other hand, veteran actor Nagarjuna Akkineni was in talks to play the lead antagonist. However, the latest reports suggest Kannada star Upendra has been finalized for this role. Follow us for more such intrigiung updates.

Raayan tops Kalki 2898 AD

0

Raayan starring Dhanush arrived on OTT yesterday. Just a day before, Kalki 2898 AD starring Prabhas too made its OTT appearance. Everyone felt that Kalki 2898 AD would storm the OTT platform just like its theatrical performance. But to everyone’s surprise, Raayan has topped Kalki 2898 AD on the Amazon Prime Video. The film is trending at No 1 position pushing Kalki 2898 AD to the second spot.

In terms of the budget and span Kalki 2898 AD was way ahead than a normal film like Raayan. But the film didn’t quite make a mark on the OTT platform for reasons unknown. Many feel that Kalki 2898 AD presence in two OTT platforms i.e., Amazon Prime Video and Netflix would have been the reason for its underperformance. Raayan is streaming in all languages on Prime Video and hence the popularity. However, Kalki 2898 AD is trending on top in Netflix with its Hindi Version there.

Both Raayan and Kalki 2898 AD became big hits theatricallly. But they have been getting overrated tag now after their OTT streaming. Many netizens felt that these films had been overhyped than their actual content. This can be seen from the social media platforms after their OTT release.

Vishwa Prasad: Harish Shankar’s Actions Backfired

0

The debacle of Mr Bachchan is a major setback for Ravi Teja, Harish Shankar, and more importantly, producer TG Vishwa Prasad. The film’s music and mass elements were expected to get the film off to a strong start. Unfortunately, the film’s poor talk and negative reviews led to extremely poor collections in every center.

The failure of Mr Bachchan has now taken an interesting turn. In a recent interview, even producer Vishwa Prasad said that Harish Shankar’s activities before the movie’s release affected the film, leading to targeted criticism. He also mentioned, “When we are strong, we can challenge anyone; when we are not, they will hit back.”

The producer also pointed out several other reasons for the movie’s failure. He added that Netflix forced the film to release on August 15th as Pushpa 2 got postponed. This impacted the post-production works, mainly editing which was heavily criticised. Due to this, the 2nd half missed the mark.

TG Vishwa Prasad also added that even going for a remake was a bad choice as they just took the basic line of the film and everything got changed. It would have been better had they approached Mr Bachchan with a fresh story with the same concept.

Nagarjuna’s N Convention centre demolished, Nagarjuna responds

0

Tollywood Actor Nagarjuna owns a convention centre by the name N Convention in Madhapur, Hyderabad. There have been many allegations against it terming it as an illegal construction. Now, the current Telangana Government has demolished the Convention centre without any prior notice given to the actor. Nagarjuna has also responded to the issue now.

The convention centre has been demolished in the morning and it became very much controversial. According to Nagarjuna, the centre followed guidelines and the matter was also in the court. He also said that he would the first person to demolish it if it doesn’t follow the necessary guidelines. But the Telangana Government choosing to demolish the convention centre even when the matter is in court looks too foolish. Many people feel that the government has targeted Nagarjuna for unknown reasons. The previous government led by KCR didn’t concentrate on this issue which is also being talked now.

The current CM of Telangana, Revanth Reddy earlier spoke about this convention centre alleging it to be an illegal construction. Now, it seems he has taken the decision of demolishing it. This is definitely a foolish act by the Chief Minister and his government. It needs to be seen how this matter takes further shape since it involves Tollywood’s Top Star.

Manamey OTT delayed due to fraud

0

Manamey starring Tollywood Actor Sharwanand and Krithi Shetty released this June. The film received good reviews and did average at the box office. The film would have arrived on the OTT platform by now but it seems the OTT release is delayed due to a fraud issue surrounding the film. Producer TG Vishwa Prasad spoke regarding this issue as well.

Producer TG Vishwa Prasad, during an interview, said that they were cheated by someone in the non-theatrical business sector. He explained that they sold the film’s non-theatrical rights to an intermediary, but the intermediary did not sell the film to OTT platforms due to various reasons at that time. Instead, the same person sold other movies to OTT platforms while putting their film on hold. As a result, they did not receive the money from non-theatrical rights, leading to significant losses. The producer also mentioned that they had approached the court regarding the matter, as they lost 60-70% of their investment due to this fraud. This situation appears to be a serious issue.

So, Manamey will arrive on the OTT platform only after sorting out these issues which may take time. Audience who wanted to watch this on OTT must wait for some more time. Manamey as said attracted audience slowly after its release and got a positive talk. The film will definitely have good views after its OTT streaming. Let’s wait and see how the team sorts these issues and releases it on the OTT.

Nag Ashwin Strikes Back at Arshad Warsi

0

Director Nag Ashwin has replied with grace and optimism to Bollywood actor Arshad Warsi’s recent criticisms of his newest hit, Kalki 2898 AD. Following Bollywood actor Arshad Warsi’s harsh statements regarding the Telugu movie Kalki 2898 AD, the film’s director, Nag Ashwin, has finally spoken out. Warsi recently received a severe reaction for criticizing the film and its lead actor, Prabhas. Warsi bemoaned that he expected a “Mad Max and Mel Gibson” performance from Prabhas but received a “joker” instead.

Warsi’s words sparked rapid and broad criticism, particularly among Telugu film fans and industry people. Many people turned to social media to defend Prabhas and the film, expressing disappointment with Warsi’s comments and accusing him of denigrating the work of regional filmmakers.

However, rather than further dividing the issue, Nag Ashwin chose to address it with a plea for unity. “Let’s not go backwards. No more north-south or bolly vs. tolly. Focus on the big picture. United Indian Film Industry.” “Arshad Saab should have chosen his words better..but it’s okay..sending buji toys for his kids..il work hard so tweets fdfs that Prabhas was the best ever in K2,” he wrote.
