RRR Producer: Budget Fears

It has been earlier reported that RRR producer DVV Danayya did not make as much money as expected from RRR due to over budget and delay in release. His experiences with RRR has forced DVV Danayya to take budget control measures for all his upcoming projects. For any upcoming film, he is making lot of calculations and putting tabs on budgets. If the budget is going out of control he is walking out of the project.

Initially, he was the producer for Prabhas – Maruthi film Raja Saab. However, he sold to rights to People’ Media Factory for good profits. Even recently, he exited for Vijay’s last film as the Kollywood star was quoting huge remuneration and Danayya felt it would not work and exited from the project.

Once Danayya signed Vijay, multiple directors narrated scripts and Danayya planned to bring a Telugu star director as he felt Vijay’s Tamil brand and director’s Telugu market would surely be a winning combination. Unfortunately, this didn’t work out.

Finally, Vijay locked director H Vinoth for this project and quoted Rs 250 Cr remuneration. DVV Danayya was not okay with it as Vinoth does not have any big image in other languages so he reportedly walked out of this project.

Devara: A Bloodbath in the making

Actor NTR starring Devara shooting is happening at a brisk pace. The film’s first lyrical song is getting ready for the release. The song is named “Fear Song” which will be composed by Maverick Music director, Anirudh Ravichander. The posters and the song’s glimpse make one feel that Devara represents a Bloodbath all over in the making.

The film’s director, Koratala Shiva right from the beginning described the film as a blood filled one. NTR too says such dialogue in the released glimpse of the film. Now the Fear Song too promised the same again. Anirudh Ravichander released the glimpse of the song where he was seen performing for the song along with the some visuals of NTR in the film. The posters and some lyrics of the song too depict the film as a Bloodbath film.

Devara will released in two parts. The first part will release this year in the October month. The film made on a Pan India level will see NTR wanting to establish himself as a Pan India Star. He even planned his debut in Bollywood with War 2 starring alongside Hrithik Roshan. NTR has also started shooting for his portion in War 2.

Naga Babu comes back on X/Twitter again

Naga Babu, brother of Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan became a controversial figure in recent times. He, in the name of love for his brothers puts controversial statements on his official X/Twitter Account. He also stands as an official member of his brother’s party, Janasena. He recently posted a tweet which became sensational making him delete the tweet and also deactivate his Account. But Surprisingly, he has come back on X/Twitter again.

Allu Arjun, Actor and nephew of Naga Babu took party in an election campaign for his friend who represents YSR Congress Party in AP. This has angered Naga Babu. He felt that all his family members should support his brother’s Janasena party. As a reply to this, he compared Allu Arjun to an outsider indirectly in a tweet which became a sensational issue. All Allu Arjun Fans started targeting Naga Babu for his arrogant remarks.

Naga Babu after sensing the heat, deleted the tweet and deactivated his account as well. Many felt his elder brother, Chiranjeevi might have given him earful. But to everyone’s surprise, he appeared back on X/Twitter. He also satirically tweeted saying, “I have deleted the tweet.” This looks very kiddish from the side of Naga Babu. He needs to either tell people why he deleted the tweet or why he had appeared again. But he simply tweeting that he had deleted the tweet looks very childish. It’s better if he refrains from this controversial behavior.

Manchu Vishnu’s fantasy drama film ‘Kannappa’ is getting bigger with each passing day. Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, it features Akshay Kumar, Nayanthara, and even ‘Darling’ Prabhas. With an estimated budget of INR 100 crore, it is the costliest film in Vishnu’s career.

According to the latest update, Kajal Agarwal will play a key role in Kannappa. While her role and its duration remain unknown, her being part of this fantasy drama film has been confirmed by sources. Having said that, an official announcement is expected to be out very soon.

Besides this, Kajal is awaiting the release of ‘Satyabhama’. A female-oriented film, Directed by Suman Chikkala, this narrates the story of ACP Satyabhama who investigates a missing person’s case which enventually unfolds dark secrets of the town. Rajamouli’s Baahubali: Crown Of Blood is now streaming

SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali: Crown of Blood the animation series featuring the world of Mahishmati is now streaming on OTT. The battle for the crown featuring Baahubali and Bhallaladeva’s valour is streaming on Disney + Hotstar. Baahubali: Crown of Blood is the spiritual prequel to the events that were showcased in the film.

The series, which consists of nine episodes, explores the events that happened before the film. In this show, Baahubali and Bhallaladeva (Prabhas and Rana Daggubati, respectively), come together to take on the enemy. Here, we are also introduced to a new villain named Raktadeva, who is after the Mahishmati kingdom.

Created by SS Rajamouli and Sharad Devarajan, the show is directed by Jeevan J Kang and Naveen John. The show is perfect for a weekend binge and features 9 episodes each 20 minutes long. The show is streaming in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Bengali and Kannada.

Nayanthara as Yash’s sister

After the exit of Kareena Kapoor from Rocking Star Yash’s upcoming project ‘Toxic’ it’s being reported that Nayanthara has been brought on board. Director Geethu Mohandas and Nayanthara are in talks for the role and have held multiple meeting regarding the movie.

Bankrolled by KVN Productions, Toxic will see Kiara Advani playing the lead while Nayanthara playing Yash’s sister. The film deals with Goa drug mafia backdrop and is set for the 2025 April release.

Toxic has a strong sibling emotion, and the part of the sister is very crucial to the narrative, warranting the presence of a top star. The makers are looking to cast actresses with Pan India presence for the part.

After the blockbuster success of KGF series, there were heavy expectations on Yash’s next. A motion poster of Toxic was released in late December last year. In this motion poster, Yash was seen wearing a cowboy hat on his head, holding a cigarette in his mouth, and holding a gun on his shoulder. Yash’s choice of teaming up with Geethu Mohandas has surprised many, but looking at the starcast, it surely looks like the director is planning something exciting.

Shocking: Krishnamma is now streaming on OTT

The gap between theatrical and OTT releases is becoming narrower with the passing of time. While there’s a standard practice of maintaining at least 4-week gap between theatrical release and OTT, there have been instances where a movie has been released on digital platforms just 20 days after its theatrical release.

And now, a new record of sorts has been established with Satyadev’s Krishnamma arriving on OTT within a week of its release. The film was released on 10th May and has already found its way to Amazon Prime Video.

This is indeed shocking as the team had officially released a poster just a day back stating that all distributors have achieved breakeven. And now the movie is streaming because, in reality, the movie did not work well at the Box office. The producer wants to recover the invested money and early OTT streaming seems to be the only way out.

Directed by V V Gopala Krishna, Krishnamma is a revenge action drama starring Archana, Krishna Burugula, Athira, Meesala Lakshman among others. The film has been bankrolled by  Krishna Kommalapati and received praise for its raw portrayal and Satyadev’s performance. However, the story and overall screenplay couldn’t generate any excitement.
