Director Locked For Chiranjeevi’s Next Project

‘Mega Star’ Chiranjeevi will be next seen in the fantasy drama film ‘Vishwabara’. Directed by Vassishta of Bimbisara fame, it features Trisha Krishnan as the female lead. Bankrolled on a massive budget by ‘UV Creations’, it is slated for a grand release worldwide in January 2025, coinciding with the Sankranthi weekend.

As admitted by the legend himself, Chiru has committed to staring in a huge number of films in the past five years. Having said that, an exclusive update regarding his next project has surfaced on the internet.

According to it, Tamil filmmaker Mohan Raja, the elder brother of Jayam Ravi, has been brought on board to direct this flick. This will be the second collaboration between the duo after the ‘Hit’ film Godfather (2022). Notable writer B. V. S. Ravi has penned and developed a plot that impressed Chiru, and the script has been locked. Needless to say, it will go on floors once Vishwambara is wrapped up.

Its Official: Salaar-2 Is Postponed!

To all the ‘Darling’ fans out there, here’s some disappointing news for you: Salaar-2: Shouryanga Parvam, which is expected to go on floors this month, has been postponed. As expected, Jr. NTR has spoiled Prabhas’s party. Director Prashanth Neel has begun the pre-production work for the #NTRNeel project.

An official announcement from the makers suggests that this venture will start production in August 2024. Tentatively titled #Dragon, this is bankrolled by ‘Mythri Movie Makers’ and Kalyan Ram’s ‘Nandamuri Taraka Ramarao Arts’. This announcement was unveiled on the eve of Tarak’s birthday.

Besides this, the first single from Devara: Part One, titled ‘Fear Song’, has also been released by the makers. Composed by Anirudh Ravichander, it received mixed reactions from audiences. Also featuring Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan, the film is slated for a worldwide release in October 2024.

Devara Fear Song: Anirudh’s Costliest Mistake

0

The Fear song from NTR’s Devara was released on the eve of NTR’s birthday. The song was released amidst huge expectations and definitely the music has worked for everyone but the problem is only with singer Anirduh himself.

Several NTR fans felt that other versions of the Fear song were better to listen to than the Telugu version. Anirudh lent his voice for Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi versions with Tamil being unanimously appreciated.

Anirudh’s voice for the song was perfect for the Tamil and Hindi versions but in Telugu, it has not come out well. The general opinion has been that the signing could have been way better as people did not understand the lyrics correctly. Had Anirudh chosen some other singer for Telugu then it might have received a unanimous positive response.

Directed by Koratala Siva, Devara will be released in two parts. The first part will release this year in the October month. The film made on a Pan India level the film is a great chance for NTR to establish himself as a Pan India Star. He will be making his Bollywood debut with War 2 starring alongside Hrithik Roshan. NTR has also started shooting for his portion in War 2.

Three Kamal Hassan’s Films Releasing In 2024

‘Ulaganayagan’ Kamal Hassan has made a grand comeback into the foray of commercial cinema with Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Vikram (2022). The film’s commercial success revived his diminished market among distributors, satellites, and streaming partners. Basking in its success, he has signed to appear in not one but three films in the same year.

First and foremost is Nag Ashwin’s epic sci-fi drama ‘Kalki: 2898 AD’. Starring ‘Rebel Star’ Prabhas in the lead role, it is slated for release in June this year. Hassan is reportedly the film’s antagonist and will have a cameo appearance.

Next up is Shankar’s vigilante thriller ‘Indian-2’. A sequel to the 1996 film Indian, it also stars Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Siddharth, Vivek, and Kajal Agarwal. And the last one is, of course, Mani Rathnam’s action drama film ‘Thug Life’. With music composed by A. R. Rahman, it is expected to hit screens in the last month of 2024.

The Most Crucial Phase In Shankar’s Career Has Begun

Shankar Shanmugam is a prolific filmmaker in Tamil cinema. Known for his extensive use of VFX, he has scored multiple groundbreaking films in a career spanning twenty years. However, he faced a brief setback with the films I (2015) and 2.0 (2018). In pursuit of a comeback, he has gone back to his strong zone: a political thriller with a social message.

He has joined hands with ‘Global Star’ Ram Charan for the first time to deliver the same. Titled ‘Game Changer’, it also features Kiara Advani, S. J. Suryah, Sunil, and Srikanth. Bankrolled by ace producer ‘Dil’ Raju, it is slated for a grand worldwide release in October 2024.

Besides this, Shankar has also collaborated with ‘Ulaganayagan’ Kamal Hassan for a two-part vigilante series. Titled ‘Indian-2’ and ‘Indian-3’, they are the second and third installments in the Indian (1996) franchise respectively. While the former is headed for a release on July 12, 2024, the latter will hit screens in January 2025.

All in all, the upcoming six to eight months are going to be crucial for this legendary filmmaker. I hope he delivers three back-to-back blockbusters and shuts up the haters.

DSP Outshines Anirudh and Thaman

NTR’s Devara, Ram Charan’s Game Changer, and Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2 are some of the most awaited pan-India movies featuring the three Tollywood stars. The films are in the production stage and all three film’s first singles are out now.

Interestingly, just like their leading stars, even the composers of these films Anirudh, Thaman, and DSP are contemporaries and vying for the No. 1 composer position in the South.

Coming to the songs, ‘Jaragandi’ from Ram Charan’s Game Changer was released first and failed to impress. The romantic number was choreographed by Prabhu Deva and shot by Shankar in a massive set. However, the song and even the choreography were pretty disappointing. Allu Arjun’s ‘Pushpa Pushpa’ song was released next which worked well and the peppy tune and lyrics were appreciated with Allu Arjun’s rocking dances adding great value to the song.

Earlier today, NTR’s Fear Song was released. The song has received a decent reception but is nowhere near the huge expectations it created. Overall DSP’s Pushpa Pushpa song is the better of the three for the Telugu audience both in terms of composition as well as reception.

Prithviraj Sukumaran In Rajamouli-Mahesh Babu Film

‘Super Star’ Mahesh Babu will be next seen in an epic adventure film directed by S. S. Rajamouli. The project’s pre-production works are going at a brisk pace, and an official announcement is expected to be out very soon. Amidst this euphoria, interesting casting information from this project has come out.

According to it, Prithviraj Sukumaran, a prolific actor in Malayalam cinema, has been roped in for a crucial role. He was recently seen in Prashant Neel’s action drama film Salaar: Part One (2023). This is a massive update from #SSMB29 since the actor enhances the buzz around this project.

Prithviraj’s last theatrical venture, Aadujeevitham (‘The Goat Life’ in Telugu), has emerged as a major commercial success, grossing over INR 150 crore worldwide. Besides this, he’s all set to join Prabhas in Salaar-2: Shouryanga Parvam.

Rajinikanth’s Coolie: Part of the LCU?

0

Superstar Rajinikanth will be next seen in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s action thriller. Coolie. The duo collaborating on this project has created massive buzz and fans are eagerly waiting for further updates post the title glimpse that was revealed some time ago.

After watching the glimpse many people felt that it seems similar to an LCU film. But the team has constantly denied it saying this is a standalone film and not a part of LCU. The audience still feels that it could be a part of LCU and Lokesh Kangaraj wants to surprise the audience.

Another reason for this belief is that Lokesh Kanagaraj made a short film a few days back showcasing the origins of LCU. Arjun Das, Kalidas Jayaram, Narain, and others were part of the short film. Now Lokesh is planning to release this soon. An official press meet is also expected next week. The release of this short film before Coolie’s arrival has heightened the rumours of Rajinikanth becoming a part of LCU.
