Ajith’s Good Bad Ugly OTT rights sold for record price

Ajith’s Good Bad Ugly directed by Mark Antony fame Adhik Ravichandran has gone on sets with the first look released recently. The much-awaited project has been announced for Sankranti 2025 release and the film’s shooting is going on at a rapid pace. Mythri Movie Makers have marked their entry into Kollywood with this project and have reportedly offered a record remuneration for Ajith.

The business for the film is showing great signs and the digital rights have been bought by Netflix for 95 Cr which is a record price in Ajith’s career. The OTT rights will easily cover more than 1/3rd of the budget and this interesting combination of Ajith and Adhik will surely create more buzz and business in the days to come.

The first-look poster features Ajith in three different moods, portraying the essence of the title. Ajith dons a Hawaiian multicoloured shirt with his arms fully inked, carries a brass knuckle in one hand, and presents a bevvy of weapons, in front. The poster was tweeted by Adhik Ravichandran on his official handle.

Ajith is currently also filming for Vidaa Muyarchi, directed by Magizh Thirumeni. The project is backed by Lyca Productions. According to reports, the film will also star Trisha, Arjun Sarja, Arav and Regina Cassandra in the pivotal roles.

Bangalore Rave Party: Two Actors caught

The Central Crime Branch team had earlier raided a Bangalore rave party being held at a farmhouse near Electronic City in and seized 17 MDMA pills and cocaine. The event has once again brought some Tollywood names associated with drugs.

The event, which continued past 2 am, was being held under the guise of a birthday party, and over 100 attendees, including 25 women, from Telugu states and Bengaluru, were present. As per reports, the party also saw the presence of a few Tollywood actors.

There were many rumours about the presence of actor Srikanth in this Bangalore rave party. But he clarified about not being a part of any such party through a video shot from his home. The actor also stated that he was surprised to see these unverified reports emerging in the media.

Hema also posted a video stating she’s in Hyderabad but the netizens have shared their doubts over this. Choreographer Jaani Master also released a video stating he is in no way involved. We need to wait for some time to get official clarity for who were those two actors caught on this rave party

Tollywood Actor Mahesh Babu and Director SS Rajamouli have joined hands for a globe-trotting adventurous film. The film is in its pre-production works, and the lead actor Mahesh Babu is physically preparing himself for the film. Allu Aravind puts Ramayana on hold

Ace Tollywood producer Allu Aravind along with Madhu Mantena planned to make Ramayana with Nitesh Tiwari. This plan was made long back and it was officially announced as well. The process got delayed by several months and finally, they got replaced by some other producers, and shooting also started.

Recently, Allu Aravind team sent a legal notice on this. Due to this, the shooting has come to a halt and the team is looking to clear this legal hurdle. Nitesh Tiwary and Ramayana’s current producers are looking to compensate Allu Aravind and Madhu Mantena and then start the shooting. It needs to be seen how much time this process will take. Till the issues are resolved, this Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi starrer is on hold.

Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana will be a two-part saga and will be released in a span of one year. But both films will be shot simultaneously to maintain the continuity in the look of the actors. In fact, a 350-day schedule has already been chalked out to shoot the entire two-part film.

Malayalam Film Industry, also known as Mollywood has struck gold this year with sensational blockbusters. Mollywood is a small marketed industry when compared to Tollywood, Kollywood and Bollywood. But this year has come in handy for Mollywood very well. Surprisingly, Mollywood has delivered 1000 crores grossed films this year.

Among these films, Manjummel Boys even went on to become the Industry hit grossing more than 200 crores gross worldwide. On the other hand, Premalu, The Goat Life, Aavesham managed to gross more than 100-150 crores gross worldwide. All these films collectively grossed more than 660 crores domestically and 360+ crores from the overseas market. Along with these films, some small films too contributed to their level. One of such films will be recently released Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil.

Manjummel Boys and Premalu managed to earn well in other languages along with Malayalam version too. They both did very well in Tamil and Telugu Versions. Manjummel Boys even grossed more than 50 crores worldwide from the Tamil version itself. Premalu on the other hand earned nearly 15 crores gross worldwide from the Telugu version. This way these films made their presence felt throughout the South India. With the success of these films, Mollywood may aim to take the game even further.

Kalki 2898 AD OTT business and streaming details

Kalki 2898 AD is the biggest film of this year which is set for release on 27th June. Aswini Dutt who’s producing this big-budget marvel has opted for their own release in most territories through multiple distributors on a commission basis.

Like Salaar, the movie’s digital rights are sold to two streaming platforms. The South Indian language’s digital streaming rights were bought by Prime Video while the Hindi rights were bought by Netflix. The film is expected to arrive first on Prime Video as for Hindi version streaming there is a window of 8 weeks. Whereas for southern languages there are no restrictions.

Nag Ashwin has already stated that Kalki will show something that’s never been attempted in Indian cinema before. While this is a great indication of things to expect in Kalki 2898 AD, a clear understanding on the release date has given a bigger boost and heightened the anticipation for this project.

The film features several big stars like Kamal Haasan, and Deepika Padukone among others. Since the film is based on several historical characters, each character’s intro will continually raise the buzz.
