Rajinikanth’s direct threat to NTR

0

This year we will witness movie releases of almost all the major stars of Southern industries. Superstar Rajinikanth who’s one of the biggest stars has two projects coming up Vettaiyan directed by TJ Gnanvel and Coolie directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. The makers of Vettaiyan have just made their release date official and it will hit the screens on 10th October.

The arrival of Vettaiyan on 10th October means it will clash with another massive project- NTR’s Devara. Devara was also recently announced to release on the 10th and this has created a scenario of a massive clash at the South Indian box office.

Devara was initially supposed to release on 5th April and that would have been a perfect release date with no biggie releasing anytime near. With this postponement, 27th September was another date that was under consideration as Pawan Kalyan’s OG is not releasing on that date. But with OG’s postponement, that date has now been taken up by Dulquer Salmaan’s Luck Bhaskar which Venky Atluri will direct.

Considering all these factors, Devara might not have any option but to release alongside Superstar Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyan. This is in fact going to be a massive clash as both these films are eagerly anticipated ones.

0

Vishwak Sen, Neha Shetty, and Anjali starrer Gangs of Godavari released last week after multiple delays. The action entertainer set in the 80s follows the life of Lankala Rathnala (Vishwak Sen),  his trials and tribulations of Rathnam, his tussle with locals and those in power.

The film was released to mixed public talk and reviews on Friday. The mixed word of mouth impacted the movie’s collection a bit or else it could have collected more than 10Cr on its 1st weekend itself.

Despite this, the movie cruised through good weekend numbers as it recovered 2/3 on its 1st weekend. Overall worldwide Gangs of Godavari’s worldwide share is around Rs 8 Cr and it still needs Rs 4 Cr share to achieve breakeven. A decent hold is needed this week in order to achieve this figure.

Directed by Krishna Chaitanya, Gangs of Godavari is an action entertainer set amidst a rural backdrop and features Sai Kumar, Goparaju Ramana, Nasser, and Hyper Aadi among others. The film’s music has been composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja which managed to attract good buzz before release.

Nag Ashwin’s Big Mistake: Is Ashwatthama Not Alive Now?

Kalki 2898 AD is the biggest Indian film of this year. The movie is set for release on June 27th. The audience is inquisitive about the film. The story is based on Hindu itihasas about the arrival of Lord Vishnu’s 10th avatar, Kalki Bhagavan, at the end of Kaliyuga. The movie is a combination of technology and Itihasa, as it was made in 2898, more than 800 years from here. It needs a new world like how technology was in that era and the Hindu Itihasa’s arrival of Kalki Bhagavan to kill evil.

The team is doing aggressive promotions. Recently, they held a massive event for Bujji’s Introduction. The anime series with 2 episodes is now streaming on Prime Video. It was a huge hit, received unanimous positive buzz, and raised expectations. The trailer is expected to arrive this weekend, followed by massive events and interviews in all big cities.

The team introduces Amitabh Bachchan as Ashwatthama. According to Mahabharat, Ashwatthama was cursed by Lord Krishna to live as Chiranjeevi with blood, and injuries, and cry for death for using Brahmastra to kill an unborn child.

Till now, whatever content is released based on Mahabharata-referenced Aswaththama will live till the end of Kali Yuga. Nag Ashwin also does the same; he introduces Aswaththama as praying to Lord Shiva. But here the main thing is, according to Mahabharata, Aswaththama was cursed by Sri Krishna for only 3000 years, not till the end of Kali Yuga. Now it has been more than 5000 years, so there’s no chance of Aswaththama living in this era, which is clearly stated by our Telugu pandits too. This represents that Nag Ashwin makes a bigger mistake by showing Aswaththama as alive

Shankar’s great music sense gone?

0

Maverick Director, Shankar always had great music albums coming out of his films. He collaborated mostly with A.R. Rahman for his films. Harris Jayaraj too came on board for two of his films. But still, Shankar managed to have a great chartbuster through Harris Jayaraj as well. But Shankar’s great music sense seems to have gone now.

Shankar collaborated with Anirudh for the first time for the sequel of Indian, Indian 2. He also took Thaman on board for his other film, Game Changer starring Ram Charan. Indian 2 songs have been released recently and everyone was not okay with the output. Many are comparing the songs of A.R. Rahman with Indian 2 songs and showing their disappointment.

On the other hand, Jaragandi, song of Game Changer didn’t quite hit the chords. The song received a normal response and didn’t bring in big views from the YouTube platform as well. Although picturized lavishly, the song didn’t receive the response that was expected. However, one has to wait for the rest of the songs from the album of Game Changer. But it’s quite evident that Shankar seems to be not taking much care. He is also delaying the shoot process of Game Changer for a while which also received criticism.

Prabhas’ upcoming film, Kalki 2898 AD shooting is happening at a brisk pace. The film also stars Bollywood biggies, Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone in pivotal roles. The flick is directed by young filmmaker, Nag Ashwin in a massive span and budget produced by the reputed Vyjayanthi Movies. Recently Kalki 2898 AD’s anime part released to take the audience into the film’s world. The Anime looked very good and became a massive success all over the social media platforms.

Nag Ashwin took a big risk by introducing the world of Kalki with an Anime part. Normally it becomes very risky as if the anime fails it would impact the film’s prospects. The team released two episodes on Amazon Prime Video. Everyone was shocked and surprised with the output. The episodes are so engaging that they bring a humorous angle from Prabhas.

The visuals also looked very good. The anime series has become a blockbuster and raised huge expectations for the film. Kalki 2898 AD may bring even more fame to Prabhas throughout the country as it also has Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone on board. Prabhas is making sure his brand value remains big. Mahesh Babu fans highly disappointed with Rajamouli

0

Mahesh Babu and Rajamouli confirmed coming on board for their highly anticipated film. The film was even announced as a Globetrotting adventure with high budget making. Mahesh Babu even started preparing himself for the role physically. He was even spotted growing long hair and beard. But now it seems Mahesh Babu fans are disappointed with Rajamouli for a reason.

May 31st marks the birthday of Mahesh Babu’s late father Krishna who was renowned as a superstar. On every 31st of May, there would be some updates coming from the films of Mahesh Babu. But this time, it remained completely silent about his upcoming film with Rajamouli. Fans expected that the announcement of the film would happen on this day but nothing happened. This has completely disappointed his fans.

Rajamouli announces his film through a press meet before starting the shoot. He would announce the cast and crew as well. But it’s taking time for reasons unknown. The film might commence its shoot this year. As said, the film will be planned as a Pan India biggie with many high technical standards. The film would at least take about 1-2 years in the making which is also a disappointing news for the fans of Mahesh Babu.

Gangs of Godavari Day 1 Box Office Collections: Solid openings

After a long time, it’s a relief for the Tollywood Box Office with the recently released film, Gangs of Godavari. Due to the election season, the box office remained very dull throughout the season. The film received mixed word-of-mouth but the opening was very good. It opened with a 3.5 crore share in both Telugu States. 1.1 crores came from the Nizam region and the other from AP.

The film also opened with good numbers in the overseas market. It collected $150K in the USA on the opening day itself. The overall share of the film stands at 4.3 crores worldwide. Theatrical business is valued at 12 crores which is more than one-third of the recovery from the opening day. If the film holds well during the weekend, then breakeven becomes easy.

The film also has competition in the form of two other releases, Gam Gam Ganesha starring Anand Deverakonda, and Bhaje Vaayu Vegam starring Karthikeya. But Gangs of Godavari stood well thanks to the setup and songs of the film composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The film also stars Neha Shetty and Anjali in pivotal roles directed by Krishna Chaitanya and produced by Naga Vamsi under his Sithara Entertainments banner.

No producer for Vijay’s milestone movie

0

Tamil Actor Vijay who is currently working on his upcoming film, The Greatest of All Time is in need of a producer for his next film. This will also be his final film before he enters politics officially. He has also officially announced his retirement in a press note. The Actor listened to many scripts and finally okayed the script narrated by H. Vinoth.

As said, the duo is finding it difficult to have a producer. The sole reason for this is the remuneration quoted by Vijay. He is expected to quote around 250 crores. Earlier, D.V.V. Danayya was supposed to be the producer of this film but he backed off. There are also talks happening with KVN Productions but nothing has been finalised.

The major reason for producers not getting involved also happens to be director H.Vinoth who is a newcomer and doesn’t have a brand name like Atlee, Lokesh Kanagaraj, Nelson etc.,. Vijay factor may work out to an extend but it’s the Director who has to make sure things work well. We have already seen Nelson going wrong badly with Beast. So, we’ll have to see if Vijay changes the director or brings any producer for the film.

Gam Gam Ganesha movie review: Manages to entertain in parts

0

Movie: Gam Gam Ganesha
Rating: 2.5/5
Cast: Anand Deverakonda, Pragati Srivastava, Nayan Sarika, Satyam Rajesh, Emmanuel, Vennela Kishore
Director: Uday Bommisetty
Produced By:  Kedar Selagamsetty, Vamsi Karumanchi
Release Date: May 31st, 2024

After the massive success of BABY, Anand Deverakonda is back to try his hand at the crime comedy genre with Gam Gam Ganesha. With a completely fresh cast and a debutant director Uday Bommisetty, the film has been released alongside 2 other films ‘Gangs of Godavari and Bhaje Vaayu Vegam. Let’s see if Gam Gam Ganesh has enough to sustain the competition and emerge victorious

Story:

Ganesh (Anand Deverakonda) is a petty thief who decides to make it big in life by pulling off a massive heist. His desire to become rich by stealing is fueled by his girlfriend dumping him for a rich guy. While on his quest for the next big heist, Ganesh gets entangled in a much bigger game that has politicians and a lot of big money involved. What kind of mess he gets himself into and whether he manages to achieve his dreams or not is what the movie follows.

Performances:

Being one of the few known faces in the movie, a lot was riding on Anad Deverakonda’s performance. There’s nothing much to write about his performance and it was just passable. Newcomers Pragati Srivastava and Nayan Sarika don’t have much scope to perform while Emanuel and Vennela Kishore provide the much-needed entertainment. Others like Satyam Rajesh and Raj Arjun (the villain) don’t have much to do and the writing doesn’t help either.

Positives:

  • Scenes involving Anand and Emanuel
  • Some comedy portions

Negatives:

  • Poor writing
  • Predictable screenplay
  • Dragged second half
  • Lead performances

Verdict:

Gam Gam Ganesha is a crime comedy film with neither crime nor comedy angles working in their entirety. There are moments of entertainment in the film which may engage the audience but those moments don’t last long. Weak writing and predictability are the biggest drawback of this film which could have been better had the makers looked to make the screenplay racier with some innovation.
