Jio Cinema, the raising OTT platform, is making every attempt to get its reach widen. Today, it has made a big announcement that it will premiere a new movie every week. It took it to the official Twitter Account and wrote, “June mein cricket ka khel khatam, par entertainment ka nahi. One movie premiere, every week, New episodes every day, 365 days of reality, All coming to you on #JioCinema for free… ab bas Dekhta Ja India!”

Shahid Kapoor’s Bloody Daddy film will be premiered on Jio Cinema on June 9th. Vishwak Sen and Rakul Preet Singh’s Boo will be premiered on May 27th. The netizens, were surprised after learning one new movie will be premiered on every week on Jio Cinema, that too for free, so they have felt it may affect the cinema theaters. However, some netizens said it is not possible to release every week a new movie throughout the year, so this new tactic of Jio Cinema might only be possible for a few months.

Approximately one month after the announcement of the partnership, content from the US television network HBO is now available at Jio Cinema led by Mukesh Ambani. HBO and Warner Brothers partnered with Reliance to bring their original content to JioCinema after bidding farewell to Disney+ Hotstar on March 31st. JioCinema has also announced an annual subscription plan for Rs 999 for Hollywood content.

Jio Cinema is moving at a rapid pace to get the maximum number of Indian users to watch its daily content. At first, they bagged exclusive digital rights for the biggest sports tournament, the Indian Premier League, and they also acquired the rights of exclusive American content.

HBO originals such as Game of Thrones, and Succession have been a massive success among Indian audiences. With the loss of HBO content, Disney Plus Hotstar reported an estimated loss of approximately 8 million users. The IPL, which was also earlier available for streaming on Disney+ Hotstar took a massive hit when Reliance won the bid for about Rs 23,000 crore.
