Keeping up with the trend of re-releases for top heroes’ birthdays, Allu Arjun’s Desamuduru was screened to mark the Icon Star’s birthday. Allu Arjun fans had huge expectations from the film and were confident that the film will have a run on par with Pawan Kalyan’s Jalsa and Ram Charan’s orange re-release. Much to their disappointment, the Desamuduru re-release is a grand failure.
The movie was rereleased on 6th April and opened with below-par numbers. On the 2nd day, the film collapsed totally and saw scattered occupancies. Overall the film has collected around 1Cr which is very poor for a huge re-release and ended up as a failure.
With Desamuduru being a massy film, fans were eager to catch it on big screens and enjoy it just like the fans of other heroes. However, much to their disappointment, some screens saw great occupancies on Day 1 but it all died down as the shows progressed.
Hansika Motwani made her film debut with this film, which was directed by Puri Jagannadh. DVV Danayya produced this romantic action entertainer which holds a special place in fans’ hearts. Desamuduru’s chartbuster music was composed by the Chakri.
