Samantha’s Shaakuntalam has seen several delays and multiple hurdles before its completion. Now, even after its completion, troubles for Gunasekhar don’t seem to have toned down. The Shankuntalam team recently released multiple posters as well as a release trailer. Surprisingly the trailers killing the buzz of the film, The film is releasing next weekend still the theatrical business is not closed.
Distributors and exhibitors are not interested even in low prices. The team promoted it like it was another pan india biggie and made it in 3D but still, they failed to create a buzz with promotional content.
The mythological drama is based on Kalidasa’s Abhijnana Shakuntalam. The story revolves around an epic love story of Shakuntala and King Dushyant of Mahabharat. Shaakuntalam will be released on 14th April in 3D in Telugu Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada.
This will be Gunasekhar’s first movie in 7 years after the 2015 period drama ‘Rudhramadevi’. A lot is banking on Samantha’s star power and Gunasekhar’s grand execution. Dev Mohan, Aditi Balan, Ananya Nagalla, Mohan Babu and Prakash Raj also star in key roles in this mythological drama.
